I have been a regular since the 1965/66 season and during that time i have witnessed dross in various divisions under various managers but have often had to accept the fact that my hometown club was skint. Pulis has no excuses,no stoke manager has ever recieved the amount of financial backing that he has enjoyed over the years,£90m spent and still no specialist left fullback, midfield creativity or pace in the side is nothing short of a joke imo. I've held a season ticket for 31 yrs and make the 440 mile round trip up from kent as often as possible but this season will be my last. Add to that it is now around ( for some fixtures ) £40+ admission The funny thing is mate, the money issue has never really bothered me that much it's always been about supporting my hometown club through thick and thin. I will be honest i just could'nt be arsed to go on saturday after the wigan and villa fiasco's and watched the game on internet instead and what really hit home with me was morrison shooting from all distances and when do we see any of our lads do that? We are in the prem and fair play to pulis but all of this negative, square pegs, not picking his strongest side shit has finally got to me

As I've said before Tony Pulis has done a brilliant job at Stoke City. The club has progressed on and off the pitch. The training facilities are second to none and we are an established Premier League team. We have a fantastic squad of players with a sprinkling of international footballers. We have been to Wembley wtice and have done pretty well in Europe with a fantastic tie coming up against top Spanish opposition. Everything is rosy or is it? Fort me the quality of football this season has been nothing short of garbage. I have been to every Home game and a couple of away ties and I've seen about 3 hours of good football. The rest of the time has been totally devoid of craft or guile. Its sterile and percentage football of the most horrid kind and I would argue this is especially at Home the worst football we have played since we came up and reminds me of the binary season. For the money we have spent on players this is nothing short of scandelous. The thing thats pisses me off is that we can be and have proved in the past to be so much better. Everyone and I mean everyone that I talk to is so depressed about Saturdays result and team selection. Will it affect the crowds? In the short term perhaps not too much but in the longer term I think it will. As thePremier League shine wears off and I think to an extent it has already (reflected in the lack of atmosphere) and the quality of football reamins the same then I think it is inevitable crowds will go down. Do I want Pulis to go ? No but I wish he'd stop fannying around with team selection and realise his players are much better than he allows them to be. We are an established outfit and we should be scared of no-one. We can get a result anywhere. Superbly put.

What's going happen on the 24th of february?
I mean when were sitting in about 13th and just been bummed by valencia?
I think everyone can take the result but some people who can defend this team selection horse shit are amazing.
Can't wait to see our goal difference at the end of the season.
Just think how amazing it would be if we set up with a proper team (players in the correct position) and have a right royal go at Valencia. But we all know its going to be 180 minutes of parking the bus and hope we get a 1-0 at home.

One bad performance and people think we are going down makes me laugh. I belong to a lot of footy club forums and this one definitely takes the cake for losing their shit the easiest and fastest. Still like the board, though.

What a stupid knee jerk quote - 8th in the premier league, still in fa cup, just booked a trip to Valencia for last 32 of Europa League and people are moaning !!!! TP aint get it right every single game, neither does Ferguson or Wenger or any other manager but they have a history of success.
Id rather be sulking on a Saturday after 1 shit result in the prem than going to Brighton to celebrate relegation to the old 3rd divison, Get in the real world, if we won every game we would become arrogant twats and have to travel +100 miles to every home game.
I love my club, i love my history and will still be there no matter !!!! Obviously your mates have always been massive fans but only managed to get a season ticket in the last few years, if they dont want to renew their season tickets then im sure there are plenty of other people that would snap them up and wouldnt moan if we were 8th.
Be Loyal, Be Proud and stop Freakin Moanin !!!!!

we'll still have a good season, finish in the top half, and i feel confident we'll have a big chance in either the europa or fa cup.
however, what really pisses me off is that we are playing a horrible brand of negative football that is so far inferior to what we were playing towards the end of last season.
and this after we had a summer and plenty of money to build on it.
we're no where near as good as last season and to be frank, we've been outplayed in most matches at home this season. strangely i feel much more comfortable us going up against a man utd or tottenham and putting 11 men behind the ball than playing a qpr or norwich where we will more than likely be totally outplayed when we step up the pitch a bit

We went through the same patch of crap football last season... Remember the 0-3 hammering at West Ham? The end of a real shitty patch, I was worried that we were going to get sucked into a relegation dogfight, but then a week later we won the FA Cuo game against them and never looked back...

The best football seen under our Tone. Lets hope he changes tactics like that again.

Lots of people's memories & opinions are only as good as the last game. However to put things into perspective West Brom was only our 3rd loss in 13 games dating back to 26 November.
I agree it's not all been a bed of roses & the cat was battered after saturday. Good shifts against Derby & Sunderland will leave the rebels revolting a little less

We always end up going back to basics after a failed attempt to change things around ;D

I am in my 40th year supporting Stoke and as far as I can see many on here who are a little unhappy just now have done a similar shift....it is clearly factually correct to say that this period of history is by our standards fantastic, but where I disagree with those who say we shouldnt complain no matter what is over the fact which they ignore that £90 Million has been spent on Transfers and we have second team players who are millionaires- I think taking that into account we should expect more. The games against the Villa and WBA were dire and noone can deny it- I dont mind losing but i at least expect my team to have a go- crowds will eventually fall if something doesnt change, particularily given the economic situation and the fact that we will continually finsih around 12th place ( ie it will become rather predictable)

£90m spent on transfers and we're 8th in the league. I would personally say that is a fair reflection considering money spent from teams above us.
Old fashioned tactics, players out of position, lack of plan B, proneness to 'say the wrong thing' in press interviews are a completely different matter though and amaze me at times.

All about results really for me. Even after a totally dire game, if we win I'm happy. If we lose I'm not and with a draw I'm somewhere in between depending on the opposition.
Playing pretty football but then losing doesn't really do much for me, if we've lost, we've lost.
It is however frustrating to say the least when a team like Saturday is starting - it's fine when we're away and quite effective but at home, we need 2 proper wingers on the pitch to look half decent.

Playing good football and winning isn't mutually exclusive. I'm happy when we win but I'd be happier winning and being excited. When the highlight of the games is getting a throw or a corner I start to get worried. I'd rather win 3-2 than win 1-0.
