the best thing in Maccabi is all the teams will understmite us because no one knows our young squad : ) But, as a guy who knows Dynamo, Besiktas and stoke realy good i can tell you this group will be like that - Dynamo Stoke/Maccabi Besiktas
Besiktas maybe got a squad of stars, but those stars arnt playing like a team, their playing for money and they dont realy care bout the scores. i saw them last year in the Europa league and in the Turkish league and their nothing. pathetic team who gave Guti the captain title after he havnt done anything for the club.
btw, i donnu if theres anyway to check it but maccabi probably has the lowest avg age squad in the Europa league this year.

guys, driven by the footballer autobiographies thread, I'd really like to buy several books for myself, but delivery rates on Amazon make it look like double price! would it be possible that someone who is coming to kyiv purchased three books for me: Roy Keane's, Alex Ferguson's and Kenny Dalglish's. If they're too heavy, then the first two of these or at least the Roy Keane's one. I could send you the required amount via paypal beforehand, and then meet you in Kyiv and treat some beers before the game!

about Dynamo season start: ? I think your info is incorrect. We are 1st in Ukrainian Premier League now having 20 points after 8 games (6 wins + 2 draws). Shakhtar Donetsk is second.
about possible situation in our Europe League group: thanx, guys! i m very pleased that you respect our team, but i can tell that Dynamo has to show VERY good game to get the 1st place. Stoke City and 2 other teams are not easy opponents - that s for sure!

denfcdk how far is the ibis hotel on shevchenko boulevard from the stadium and the bars?

ibis: located very close to the city-centre. About 20 minutes WALK to the Khreschatik Str. (add +15 min. to the ground). By taxi it can be 10-15 minutes to reach the Dynamo stadium (about 35-45 UAH). bars, restaurants, shops - very close! BTW ibis hotel is VERY close to the Lybid-hotel - you may look for some other Stokies there!

About England: yea, it doesn t matter if a nice player is not from a top-club. National team should be open for them too! to broomey1983: you are welcome! Lybid seems to be a pleasant place. I like its location: not in the centre, but VERY close to it! BTW, I heard they have tasty breakfasts

Hey everyone! Another Dynamo fan here I jump in cause for me Stoke seems to be the most interesting opponent as well as the toughest one. This February we beat Besiktas 8-2 on aggregate so there's little interest in them. They would seek the revenge obviously but that might just be an extra disadvantage. Haifa - dunno, for some reason seems to be not too exciting. Facing english team is always interesting tactically. Besides we have a pretty good record, we win most of the times. So my question will be: how interesting Europa league is for you playing in the best league in the world? If you would have to choose between say 14 position in premiership and reaching quarter- or semi-finals in Europa league or 8 position in premiership but being eliminated in group stage what would you choose? Feel free to ask about Kyiv if you need a second opinion Here are some english language links www.inyourpocket.com/ukraine/kyivwww.kyivpost.com/www.whatson-kiev.com/

Feel free to ask about Kyiv if you need a second opinion Here are some english language links www.inyourpocket.com/ukraine/kyivwww.kyivpost.com/www.whatson-kiev.com/ hey welcome to the oatcake... we wont be like other premiership teams... we are much bigger and stronger and not many players are under 6 foot tall. our tallest being england international peter crouch of course who is 6 foot 7. and we have the german, huth (below squaring up to torres) who is not as tall but if any of your players take a dive he will kill them. but if they dont he will anyway ;D. if your team are weak and small in terms of players or like slick passing moves like arsenal dont fancy your chances because we have beaten them 4 times in 4 years ;D our team is very experienced. we have ex real madrid johnothan woodgate and matthew upson. they are also both ex england internationals. we have a great keeper asmir begovic. he is arguably one of the best in the premiership and is being chased by chelsea. we have two fast skillful wingers jermaine pennant and metthew etherington. up front we have jon walters. he is the hardest working player you will ever see and will chase your players down all day so if some of your defenders hesitate on the ball he will thake it off them. we also have trinidad and tobago captain kenwyne jones. our stadium is a 28000 all seater stadium. the away end is capable of holding 5000 away fans. (but is halved if the away fans dont fill it.) it is officially the loudest ground in the premiership because we are the loudest fans in the premiership any more questions?

Stoke city are improving steadily. The team is built around stamina , hard work, as in commitment and better quality players being purchased. The lads love their football and are not as well paid as players in other richer PL clubs. The club is a community club ,where the chairman is a local buisness man , who been standing on the terraces of stoke city for decades. The europa league is new to stoke city, the lads will give 100% for stoke city to do as well as possible. Stoke city in the premier league is a top 10 finish and both are achieveable.

Вітаю, formathaut! Nice to see here another Ukrainian!
About Dynamo strong sides: in my opinion, it s our goalkeeper Olexandr Shovkovskiy - for me he s still one of the best in Europe!
Defence is not a strong side... We change players there very often and it s very bad especially for defence.
Midfield. We have very bright winger Oleh Gusyev who always give 100% at the field, Andriy Yarmolenko & Ognen Vukoyevich, but we lost Roman Eremenko (for ~13 mln. to Rubin Kazan).
Forwards. Difficult question. Andriy Shevchenko is still great, but he s not that young for a forward so he s not that fast & (maybe) not ready to play all 90 min. Artem Milevskiy... He can hold the ball, strong, but he s really slow for a forward. Brown - i don t know yet (played only several games for Dynamo).
My god.. They completely misunderstood what tp was saying and look at all the angry comments!! Den.. Can you please tell the people on your forum that what our manager said was completely jumbled up in translation??
I don't think there was any error in translation as I am not aware of TP saying such things. The reaction from Kyiv is based solely on the comments made up by the fistedaway website in their article. I think the only thing TP joked about was that he didn't realise that some of the teams were even a part of Europe...a joke at his own expense and hardly a hanging offence. However, judging by the reaction on the Kyiv forum (if Google translate can be trusted) it goes to show how easily tensions can arise through simple misunderstandings. Hopefully, this will all have been forgotten by next week.

About Stoke new sighnings: yea, you got some really good players. But agree, that usually TEAM-play is much more important than individual-ones! These guys didn t have much time to play together - that s an advantage for Dynamo. About your guy saying ("are these countries in Europe?"): i m not sure that the translation was wrong. I think it really sounded like some disrespect. BTW, I don t want to hurt the feelings of guys from Tel-Aviv and Istanbul, but I can say that Israel & Turkey are really mainly in Asia!! But Ukraine?? It s 100% European country! Even more - it is the largest european country, whose borders are in Europe! (larger than Ukraine are Russia & Turkey, but they are partly in Asia!). That is geografical fact. I can understand that he tryid to joke, that it s really difficult logistically etc., but it sounded offensively (for all 3 countries). He should be wiser. But anyway! I hope that Stoke-supporters should help to make it all just a saying of one guy! & maybe he himself will apologize and explaine what did he mean! I hope there will be NO agression between Kyiv & Stoke supporters! About Haifa & Tel-Aviv: sure it is different teams! You just have so many Maccabi & Hapoel! We used to have many Metallurgs (Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya, Mariupol... Towns with metallurgical industry).

I see. But i was talking only about pure geography! As for football - Israel now in UEFA & it s also a fact! Anyway, if such a reaction on his words - he should explaine what did he mean. And no problem at all!! Ah! & all this should in NO WAY affect the supporters relationships!!
