I am definitely not a hero. Real heroes are Ukrainian army and all other units standing between us and darkness.
We all try to do everything we can to help, volunteering, donating army, sharing information. And simply trying to work to keep our economy.
I just read your posts in this thread after February 23rd... Thank you very much, guys... You are amazing.

Really great to hear from you Den. The news reports coming from Ukraine are horrific and the utter destruction Putin is causing on his peaceful neighbour is beyond belief. It's terrible to see the trauma and fear on peoples faces, but we've seen that the Ukrainians are a proud and strong nation and this evil dictator won't beat you. This is Putin's war and he should face the full consequences for his crimes. Hopefully it will soon stop and Ukraine can start the huge task of rebuilding the towns and cities that Putin has destroyed, and people can try to resume their lives.
Ukraine is always in our thoughts !

People are making donations but if there are particular organisations that you feel will help people who most need it quickly and directly, please post them if you’re able to. Whether it’s you, your family or just people in need of support more generally.

Nice job with sinking of the Moskva - that really gave Russia something to think about. Support for the people in Ukraine from the people of the United States is universal. We have sent over $1 billion in military and humanitarian assistance and there’s more to come if needed. Ukraine will prevail because Putin has managed to achieve exactly what he was trying to avoid: the reunification of NATO and a substantial increase in the border with the western alliance by inviting Sweden and Finland to join. Russia suffered a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan and they will suffer defeat again in Ukraine because their economy is weak. They will collapse once the west has found an alternative source of natural gas. Then the people will turn on Putin. correction. The US just sent an additional $800 million in military aid, bringing the total just shy of $7 billion. |
