A couple of seasons ago yes, you could see the games from behind the WBC Ultras sectors. I think now it's mostly covered. Me and my mate walked around the back of the stands on our mini-tour of the city and there were a few spots where you could see 80-90% of the pitch easily. It's been a few years since I was last in Ukraine so you must forgive me

Hi, guys! Yesterday I ve been to the Olympic Stadium opening in Kyiv!! Lots of people I should say. Not TOO many changes... But now we have a roof (over the seats, not over the pitch, sure)! And glass walls... Anyway, what is more important - let our team play better!! First game planned: Ukraine-Germany (friendly) at 11.11.2011.

Awesome ceremony to open, and I love Shakira too!! Great news with the international too, Its my birthday on 9th November and I'll still be there (came over on Monday for a few weeks). Hopefully I'll be able to get tickets, with one lot of cheer for Ukraine, and one lot of cheer against Germany too and folks, quick tip. Can everybody learn to pronounce Ukraine correctly please? Its said more like 'Ookraine' (but a short oo) instead of 'Youkraine' Den - going all political...but what are your thoughts on the Yulia Tymashenko ordeal? I'd heard that there were quite big protests on Independence Day, but I dont understand the situation so I cant really say. I love her hairstyle though, very beautiful woman

Hi, Kate! Timoshenko question is complicated. The reality is that most people support NOBODY in our politics. People realize HUGE difference between our level of incomes etc. & theirs. So, the question is whom do you really trust? I don t trust any of them. As for ideology - I prefer most of Victor Yuschenko (ex-President) views & ideas. Though he couldn t realize them. As about football - great if you could visit that game!! I wish you could! & the ground - I wanted it to be 100.000 seats like before... I like that number!

Hi Den,
Just seen Tymoshenko's been sentenced to 7 years in prison and there were 1000 police in Kiev centre during the verdict. Has there been any trouble?
None of this is good for Rest of Europe-Ukraine relations heading into the tournament next year is it? Or have Russia made a convincing case to Yanukovych that you don't need the EU in Ukraine and that's that? Looks a bit of mess.
I agree with your sentiment on people supporting nobody in politics though because of the massive difference in incomes and views on the world. I still vote here in the UK but most of the time feel like I'm going for the "best of a bad bunch" as we say.
Hope you're good mate.

Thanx, mate! I vote here! Every time! But one of my favourute candidates - "against all" Do you have such option in UK? In fact, I think we must vote! It can change sthg! About 2012 - I don t really care about it too much. Yes, I m BIG Ukraine & Dynamo supporter, but there are things FAR more important then Euro in your country. I wish people live here better - that s more important!

Yeah we can vote for no-one and it comes up on the results but it seems a bit pointless when hardly anyone does it. It was stupid at the last UK general election when the party I voted for was anti-Conservative in its manifesto and then joined the Conservatives in government when it came down to it. Made me wonder why I bother!
I had a look at Yushenko's ideas and they seem possible, at least to me in the UK. Why is it so difficult in the Ukraine? Too many very rich men who don't want to share their money?

Politics is business. That s our reality. Here we have different powerful groups - there is a competition. I hope people start thinking more about themselves, not about politic-leaders. Yuschenko~s team had great support! But they couldn t manage to share the power (I mean, inside their team). It was such a big dissapointment! We could have quite different living standarts now! But more&more Ukrainians get further from politics. They trust none of the sides.

You know I love your country so much, and will support your idea as much as possible Also - use the options from here to access other supporters message boards - It could be AMAZING opportunity during Euro 2012. Can I also suggest that you offer to purchase train tickets for people needing to travel to and from Kyiv to other cities? Buying online can cost at least 10 times more (honest - it is so much!)

should try and get a football tour out there, 11 stokies playing a couple of friendlies. Used to love going on cricket tours, Kyiv is a little more glamorous than Skegness and Eastbourne though....

Uhhhh..... What a game! Couple of words about Dynamo-Besiktas: Brilliant first half from Dynamo! About FIVE 100% moments (one by one, shoots from 5 m., post etc.). The turkish side almost unseen at the pitch... Second half - it looked like our players got drunk in the half-time or sthg! Very bad game (except the defence & goalkeeper!). Where was our midfield? What happened to forwards?! Very poor performence from Kyiv side in the second half. Really! The crowd heavily dissapointed! And than - at the last 94th min. - corner & SCOOOOREEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!! 1-0 Dynamo!!!!!! Fuhhhhh..... Relief Stoke - 7 Dynamo - 5 & very tough games left (esp. in Turkey & at the Brit).

Ay up, ducks! Some fresh news from Kyiv!! Currently we are FIRST in Ukrainian League!! Yeah!!!!! Yesterday Dynamo won vs Zorya Luhansk 6-1 (they are 13th in our League) & Shakhtar Donetsk lost to Metalist Kharkiv 1-2! So - here is our ranking: 1. Dynamo - 36 points. 2. Metalist - 34 p. 3. Shakhtar - 33 p. What is important - our league is growing. We have 3 teams really running for "gold" now. P.S. I don t want to touch the "Arsenal-Stoke" topic - just wish you to win vs Liverpool!!!

Going well for your lot Den ! You're probably best not to mention the Arsenal match......tempers are a little frayed on here at the moment Here's hoping we do well against Liverpool....then a little peace and harmony will return to the Oatie MB, well, until the next defeat ;D

Ahhh.... I hope you manage to come further in Carling Cup! Home game - you are good at this! Come on, Stoke!! But you need to improve your away game level. I hope your players just need to get used to play at high level every game (no matter - home or away!). Other teams treat you as serious rivals! Sthg like that happened in the 90-s to Dynamo in Champions League. We had couple of huge wins vs top-clubs cause they were not ready for such a good team-play from Kyiv side. Than they started treating us very seriously. I think Stoke now in the same situation. You are in PL. And you are playing for Euro-Cups place. So - be ready for tough games & remember: every point is important! Best wishes from Ukraine! P.S. I think you MUST try to win in Tel-Aviv! Good practice of away-games winning!

We are out of Cup, too. 2-3. vs Shakhtar. In Kyiv. 1/8 Ukrainian Cup. Though, Dynamo played not so bad! Couple mistakes in the first half and it s 0-2... Than - 1-2, some very good opportunities, but - counterattack & 1-3. Finally - 2-3 at the 94th or 95th minute. FT. & 3 very tough games ahead in Simferopol (vs Tavriya), Istanbul (you know, Besiktas) & Kharkiv (vs Metalist). Let s stay strong! Let s win our next games, Stokies!!
