After my thread earlier on about Wigan away in 1991,what is your lowest ever stoke city moment and why? February 2003, getting completely outclassed and losing 6-0 away to Forest getting spat at and things thrown at us whilst the police stood there watching , then to complete a shit day got to the train station and realised I'd lost my train ticket!!!

Too many to list in full, but Blythe Spartans, Telford, Rochdale, Crewe and Vale defeats at home rank pretty high.

Wigan away when we lost 6-1 a few years ago. Wigan were going through a bad spell and had just been beaten at home by Canvey Island in the cup. We would've gone top that night and we thought a it was a formality. The formation Gudjon played didn't work but he didn't change it until we we were well beaten. That was the game that I realised that Gudjon was a chancer.

Many games in the 1997-98 season. Oxford away seems to stick out as does Reading away with big fat Neville in goal. Come to think of it I think that's the only game I have ever left at half time, my God we were bad!

Hearing the majority of fans around me singing the Munich song at the game yesterday. Thought we were better than that.
One game that springs to mind was the 0-0 draw with Preston on Boxing Day.

man city home 98 losing 5-2, after Macari had got us out of the 3rd tier 5 years earlier i never thought we would go back and when we did it was horrible, plus i nearly got hit on the head by a brick as i left as it was really kicking off between the 2 sets of fans.

Rotherham 4 - 0 Stoke.
2002 I think. Living in Sheff and working in Rotherham at the time. Went along. Every time Rotherham got the ball out wide Wayne Thomas fell over. Lucky to get nil. Hooky went off injured after I'd been telling everyone all week how he'd beat them on his own. Tommy Mooney up front. Urgh.

This one for me too. Spent the entire game between watching my back as various Man City fans in the Sentinel stand made themselves known and despairing at our dismal performance on the pitch. Nasty scenes outside afterwards, punch-ups flaring up everywhere and not an ounce of goodwill anywhere because both sets of fans were well and truly pissed off. Horrible.

I joined Greenpeace the very next day....

I still fly into a rage when I hear surnames that end in 'sson'....

Another for the 6-0 defeat at Forest. I thought we were down that day. Other ones of the top of my head, most recent 2-1 defeat at West Ham last year and thd 2-1 home defeat to palace in the promotion year, the pesimistic stokie in me thought we'd blown it! And abit longer ago, that 7 nil to Brum.

26/9/9. Holding out for 60 minutes only to lose 2-0 to a Manchester United side that has won the premiership three years on the bounce and has made the last two european cup finals. Obviously.

The Man City game for me too. Spent the journey home with me mate in total silence. We didnt even speak as he got out of the car. Nothing that could ever happen in the Prem could ever be as depressing as any of the times mentioned above, we really have been through some desperate times and quite a few on this board need to realise that. It puts a 2-0 defeat to the League Champions into perspective!!

Cambridge away - Last away game of the season when we finished in the lowest placing in our history. Ball had gone, Paddon was caretaker and I think we lost 3-0 (may have been 3-1)
Also add that Notts County at home under Brian Little when we invaded the pitch at the end was also pretty awful.
And of course Man City at home 5-2 - awful for so many reasons.
How any sane person can mention saturday / Munich song in this particular thread is beyond me ???

FA Cup semi replay against The Arse at Villa park 1971
Or
Play off 2nd leg against Leicester at The Vic
On both occasions we stood on the edge of greatness and for whatever reason just didn't have the chops.
A bit like Saturday really!
