Anyone else think we have a great chance on Saturday against an under pressure Sunderland team, looked awfull at defending against newcastlea giants up front.
Despite the results we have played the best football I've seen us play in a long time recently , tunny and bego to remain in the team hopefully...
1-0 for me, quite optimistic , anyone else ?

Yeah I've got a good feeling about Saturday. Don't think it will be a killing but from some of the performances we've put in lately I think we'll get a win

It really will be a tough game because Sunderland are good at home and have only lost 2 games this season compared to our 6!
Their Newcastle game was embarrassing for them so they will want to put that behind themselves straight away.
I think we shouldn't be scared by no means but don't go into the game thinking they are a poor side.
I don't think Kenwyne will get the best of receptions so we'll have to wait and see how that will affect him.

I agree that their defending is bad but I can think of another team who's defending has been shocking of late. They are very good going forward and have a striker who is on fire. They will be determined to put last week behind them and we face a very difficult afternoon IMO.
That said, if we can frustrate them for long enough or even (????) take the lead, their crowd will get at them and we could prosper. Here's hoping.

Saturday will be just like any other Premier League game for us - tough, so it could go either way. A 1-1 draw for me though.

Apperently according to the Sunderland Message board Beny and Gyan are playing up front together we just need to keep them 2 quiet mostly Bent and thats Sunderlands biggest threat nulified

I'd go with what in my view is our best XI:
Begovic Wilko Ryan Huth Collins Pennant Whitehead Wilson Etherington Tuncay Jones
Thats a team capable of beating Sunderland...if Jones puts in a good shift I think Tuncay and Jones will make a great partnership.
Re-shuffle in defense required....Bego should keep his place...he needs to get match practice...since being on the bench he doesnt look as sharp as he was at Pompey so he needs to play...he is the future.....Faye has done ok this season but its time to look forward...we are leaking far too many goals. Huth is just simply not a right back. Collins shouldnt be dropped because of that one mistake...hes done very well this year and has been possibly our most consistant defender.
Walters needs to be dropped now...hes offering nothing that Pennant/Jones/Tuncay cant. Judged on his performances I genuinly dont think he deserves to be in the team.
I think we will win with Tunny and Jones getting on the scoresheet.

My worry is that this season our defence has been allowing a lot of things to drop in the box, against Sunderland Bent will punish us if anything drops in front of him in the box. However, as long as we prevent Bent any major chances he's no real worry, his overall game isn't that great. Gyan is the bigger worry IMO.

I would take a draw to be honest, but a win away would be nice.

I always fancy our chances, every week...at least until about an hour before kick off when i start cacking it, every week! So in view of the above....of course we'll do them. 2-1 to the mighty potters. Matty first half and the Jones lad making it 2 early second half, with Gyan grabbing a late goal to put the shits up us for the last 5. Get in!!!

Either way, I hope it's more exciting than last years 'epic' at the SOL. So I'm going for a Stoke win, 9-5 with Collins scoring all 9... and all 5 of Sunderlands (own)goals.

I think a 0 - 0 we have lost couple of games think we will be defensive which will stop the rot. Although i think Sunderland will have something to prove to their fans so expect some attacking football will be an entertaining game.
