but then again, why would you turn a 0-0 draw into a 2-2? wouldn't you defend the 1-0 / 0-1? What I mean is there could easily be a nod and a wink from the managers 5 minutes from time to agree on 2-2 and each get a point rather than none.

I am a bit fed up of seeing it played for so often at Stoke but I believe that if a team had a long throw expert it may actually add to the excitement AND be effective

In a round-robin of four teams defeat in your first game means you need back to back wins to be certain of qualifying! No wonder, the first matches are dire! But, as teams need to win to progress then the football will improve!
Even back to back wins against 'easy' nations is very difficult.
