Tell them we want £4,000,000 plus Kenwyne Jones, that'd shock them up a bit.

I'd let him go for that, to be honest, if there's any truth in it.
I can't see anyone offering anything higher.

It'll be a shame if he goes, for a number of reasons, and I'd like to see him stay, but ultimately it won't hurt us that much if he does.

I'd rather him stay as I still think he can be a useful player, but I think if there is a genuine offer of £4m on the table it has to be considered.

Think we should squeeze at least another 500k-1m out of them, and see if we can get all our money back.
Having said that, if it was 4m take-it-or-leave-it, I'd be tempted to accept.

We certainly weren't getting full value from him last season, or realising his potential in our set-up.
So unless there's a new ice age / "style" of play coming to a team near us soon (delete the more likely), then we would be better cashing in before it becomes a dropped towel / slap on the nut / bad blood in the dressing room affair - thus fookin up ano season.
Equally, on a given day, it seems like Jones is their misfit & so if any kind of deal could be done, do eeet TP.

I would like to keep Tuncay to be honest but at the same time, if he wants a move then I would happily let him go.
Saying that though, there is no way I would accept 4m from Sunderland for him. Bruce has squeezed every last penny at top dollar prices for the signings we have had from him. So it's payback time, I love Whitehead but if we paid 5m for him then we should demand at least 6.5m for Tuncay. It's not like Kitson where we will take anything to get rid. Tuncay is a good squad player and we should hold on to him unless we get top dollar. Bruce won't find anyone else of his quality for the price. 4m and he can fuck off.

If we can lever in another player in exchange, it's a good deal for a player who ultimately doesn't fit into our system anywhere.

it wont happen, he wont leave Why not? He is obviously unhappy with the way we play, and even he must know that he just doesn't fit into our style. Only reason he would want to stay is the fans.

I'd offer Tuncay and 5 mill for Jones? Tuncay is a great footballer, but he is not a Pulis footballer. Jones is - big, rangy, pacey and a far better foil for Ricardo.

He's obviously desperate to leave.
And any buyer would know that.
Tuncay would react badly if we put unrealistic obstacles in the way of a move.
Having paid £5m for him 12 months ago, and seen a nightmare year unfold for him, it's hard to see how we could demand much more than 4m for him.
Having said that, God only knows where he'd fit in at Sunderland apart from on the wing.
It's hard to know where he fits in anywhere in a rigidly set-up English team.

That would be great business for us. But I can't see it happening on 2 accounts. Bruce values Jones far too highly and Jones values Jones far too highly.

And add into the equation the fact (stated hundreds of times on here) that Kenwyn Jones DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY FOR STOKE and maybe we can finally stop talking about a transfer that will never happen.

But the 5m was a bit of a bargain because Boro had been relegated and had to get rid. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. If Bruce valued Whitehead at 5m then we should demand at least 6.5m for Tuncay. Who else could you get for 4m with Tuncay's quality? I honestly feel like we are holding the aces here. I reckon we would listen to offers but not sell for the sake of it. Despite his strops after being substituted, he's professional in every other way.
