To start the summer by selling arguably our most technically gifted player would be a huge disappointment. Etherington had a very average first season with Stoke, let’s remember.

I agree re Bruce how can he honestly say that Jones is 5 times the player that Tuncay is. For me 8m at least if we're basing it on Bruces valuation level. I'd be sad to see Tuncay go as with the right tactics he could be imense and I'll never forget his performance V Fulham. But for the time he's spent on the pitch we may as well sell him and get in someone who we'll use.

Darren Bent 15m, Yes he's had a great season but that is in hindsight. There are ridiculous fees quoted everywhere, not just with our poorer signings. 4m is too cheap for Tuncay by anyones standards. At that price, Newcastle, West Brom, Wigan, Wolves, Brum, Fulham, Blackpool Bolton e,t.c should all be interested in him. Hence supply and demand would indicate that 4m is too low.

Fuck me £4m for Tuncay ;D ;D
As has been mentioned snap their fucking hands off before they see sense! I'd have been happy with £2.5m, the bloke doesnt have a position!

I have followed Stoke all my life (34 years) and I think Collins is one of the worst left backs as well (apart from Kofi Nyamah)

I'd offer Tuncay and 5 mill for Jones? Tuncay is a great footballer, but he is not a Pulis footballer. Jones is - big, rangy, pacey and a far better foil for Ricardo. That would be great business for us. But I can't see it happening on 2 accounts. Bruce values Jones far too highly and Jones values Jones far too highly. Spot on. It will end up being more like £10m + Tuncay, then a hefty wage for Jones. I would go for it, he would suit our system perfectly

At £4m it's a yes from me. I can't help but wonder if they will have the same sort of trouble with him that we have had though, as in fitting him into the team. Steve Bruce has always seemed like a rigid 442 man to me with a preference for a powerful target man. He's always reminded me of our very own manager (obviously not as good ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif) ). Of course bent would play as the main striker, in front of a target man? leaving tuncay for one of the wing positions maybe, where he has looked complete cack when played there for us. I will be glad when it's not our problem though tbh. Captainfishpaste. If any of the above is complete bollocks (which it probably is) then feel free to put me straight ;D

But I do accept that the very fact that we could end up selling Tuncay to Bruce for a million less than he sold us Whitehead for, isn't the most palatable of outcomes is it? I'd take £4m too. As a total package, including wages, I bet Tuncay is far more expensive than Collins or Whitehead. Tuncay just doesn't fit with us without a radical change in our system, ie. we build a team around Tuncay. Which won't happen. Take the cash and buy an Etherington rather than an Olofinjana, I say. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif) I would be surprised if a £4m offer from Sunderland is all we have on the table this summer. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see us re-coup all of our money on Tuncay.

I really wouldnt sell him unless he is desperate to leave the club.
I reckon he still has a major role to play at the club if Pulis uses him wisely. Maybe with all this Heskey talk him and Tunny would work well as a pairing.
Either way the only way I'd let him go to our feeder club was if Bruce offered us Bent in exchange, which we know wont happen and also this is the man that has valued Kenwyne Jones at £12 fucking mill.
Time to play hardball.

Etherington had a very average first season with Stoke, let’s remember. No he bloody well didn't! Etherington and Beattie instantly transformed us last season. And for somebody who is "arguably our most technically gifted player" I must say that his first touch has been very disappointing at times and his finishing under pressure leaves a lot to be desired. As much as I'd love him to be a success at Stoke I honestly can never seeing him fitting in to our current team. If we can get our money back and try again with somebody else then I wouldn't hesitate in selling him.

Tuncay is worth more than £4m as a player, the problem is his form this season doesn't justify £5.5m + price tag.
Therefore we've got 2 options
Get rid for £4m and get someone in who fits the system Keep him, but accept we have to play him and use a system that gets the best out of him
BTW - Kenwyne Jones £12m, are you havin' a lauf?

Tuncay can be a VERY good player for us given time, and thats all he needs, time. He is one of the smartest players on the pitch at times and he just gets too ahead of himself, and our system.
Not a chance would I even consider letting him go at this price, and if Brucy is so desperate, he can pay the £12mill that he's asking for his barely-above-average players.
I would be extremely disappointed if this came to pass.

thought Tuncay said recently that he had struggled when he first arrived, but had recently brought a house nearer to stoke and is more seattled, so i dont think he is notexpecting to leave.

He's had his chance to "light it up" this season but has not quite risen to occasion and sadly I don't think I'd miss him in the team all that much. Great footballing mind, just won't work in a Stoke side (yet) unfortunatly.
However i've got a feeling he won't be going anywhere, dunno why.
