rite heres mine. many 1st team players over the year out side the ground. once coming home from a stoke game we stopped of at watford gap services and who else but gifton noel williams was in there (he played for us at the time).
once when we had a game called off ( i think it was baggies at home) me and the fam went bowling near the ground (as wed come a long way and ditnt want to go stright home) john halls was in there with joe squash playing pool, and my sister went to get a drink and was almost hit on the head by john halls with the cue, he turned to her and said "sorry love", then after stoke v blackpool (the delayed game) we stopped at leicester services going home and we were just leaving the food hall when john halls walked past us, he was playing for sheff united then, we had a long chat and some photos with him,
also jay bothroyds ex lives near me and my old neighbour had to deal with a burgulary at ade akinbiyis old house(my old neighbour was a cop) all nice people of course

Ive met loads but these spring to mind....
During the early 90's me and my mate Tim would wait outside the The Vic for autographs. Ive got an Oatcake which is signed by the entire team that beat Vale 2 nil at Vale Park.
I met Brynjar Gunnarsson once up Fluid in Hanley and my mate chirped up " Brynjar, my mate Joey (me) loves you mate and has piccys of you on his bedroom wall" I went bright red and tried to explain to Brynjar that i didnt really have pics of him on my bedroom walls!
When we won the Autoglass Trophy in 1992 the players did a lap of honour with the trophy. I climbed up on the fence and Lee Sandford shook my hand and thanked me for coming.
I was once stood next to and chatting to John Tumble Dreyer in the Paddock at the Vic after he'd been sent off against Luton Town (i think).
The 2 most unapproachable players ive met has to be Karl Henry and Lewis Neal. They were just a pair of big headed arrogant pricks!
The friendliest has to be Tony Pulis and big Vinny Overson. Down to earth and very genuine honest blokes who spoke to me like i'd known them all my life!

Had a night out with Vince Hilaire a few years ago after a Portsmouth game when I'd been in the exec suite, nice fella, we talked mainly about Alan Ball tbh. Met a few Stoke players over the years, but only briefly, never more than a couple of minutes. I do know TC's brother tho' ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif)

I'm good mates with Steve Hodge's son, as they live in my village, he's down to earth, and his son and daughter both play football for the Forest academy and cricket for Derbyshire! So the sport gene obviously runs in their family ;D

I used to play for manchester citys academy when I was 14. Ate dinner sat next to a grade a tit in joey Barton when I was on trial there, then played in the same team as Bradley wright Phillips.
Got on quite well with lee croft and Jonathan d'layrea. I can't remember if Ireland or willo flood were in my age group though, quite depressing when I realise it's over ten years ago now.
Upon release trained with Crewe and the young keepers, that owain fon lad. Vale suprisingly said I wasn't good enough as I was released from man city but then after trials at Walsall and Kidderminster (which I then turned down) I trained with the mighty Potters. This was when gudjon was manager, I had one training session then got invited to train with the first team keepers at the time big gavin ward, neil cutler and ben foster, ben was sound! I have to say that day training with them was the highlight of my days footballing when I was younger! I didn't get offered a deal as it was pretty hard to be better than ben foster, and also when peter thorne and kav then decided to have a few shots at me! Like I stood a chance!

Those two having a few pot shots at you at 14 shouldn't have been a problem. Ever likely they didn't snap you up you big Jessie ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif) ;D

I coached footy in the States for 6 months - in 2001 for Miami Fusion/Tampa Bay Mutiny and in 2003 for San Jose Earthquakes/LA Galaxy. I got to meet quite a few players including :
John Spencer who used to play for Chelsea - was at Colorado Rapids at the time Landon Donovan - came to my soccer camp and was a sound bloke. Beat him in a keepy uppy contest ;-) Carlos Valderama - miserable get who went mad at a little lad for trying to touch his hair Cobi Jones A Scottish keeper who I cant recall his name??
Twas an amazing experience and the players were much more laid back as they were not as well known over there..
Also met a linebacker for Miami Dolphins called Zack Thomas who was drinking with Dennis Rodman and bought us all some Jagarmeister slush puppies... Mental night!!!
