Do you Alster ? Generally not much to choose I'd say , only difference being the standard they were competing at was lower so one or two individuals eg. Steino got to shine and we got to dominate games more. Cant ever remember him setting a team up to play pretty football though. No I'm not really saying it was that pretty, there just seemed to be a greater emphasis on attacking and I'd be more than happy to accept that from Pulis. The fact that it was at a lower level is offset by the difference in the funds Lou had to work with compared to Pulis.

Thats Lou was still very well funded compaired to a lot of the teams around us - well at least in the 1st division - I think the difference between our outgoings and the top half of the Prem is far greater than anything Lou had to face. I should say I was a big fan of the way Lou went about things and he did a fine job.

Good days they were indeed by no means saying Lou was perfect, I could not stand Steve Foley and he was his Mama and he made some awful gaffes in the transfer market, remember Kieth Scott how bad was he. There again he got out of it by swapping the twat for Mike Sheron and a packet of Polos, best finisher I've seen in a Stoke shirt.

Sheron was the right man at the right time - dont think he ever really got close to that sort of form ever again. Didnt last long at my local club ......Warrington Town !

Yeh but in his time at Stoke he was bloody clinical. I love this thread its been about everything and anything apart from its title.
