Wayne Biggins bought some old palletts off me- set up a business with someone from Leek Town. Just came over as not being very bright 'I was out in Manc the day after George Best died and got hit for saying loudly that John Barnes was a far better player,' Bit of a bold statement fella

Also, I stayed in the same hotel as Wayne Biggins before the play-off final. It was the last hotel room in Cardiff, in the travel-lodge. It was the room at the very end of the corridor under a flickering light. I said hi to him in the morning.

Had had a few sherries and was getting tired of hearing about GB - not the nicest man in the world - handy with his fists when it came to the ladies - and frankly it's the second liver I feel sorry for. Anyhoo, we are going up!!

Shared a flight back from Dublin with Biggins and a load of his mates - he looked worse for wear ;D
My dad used to deliver milk to Graham Paddon when he was Ballys assistant.
Used to buy sweets before or after school from Tony Allens paper shop before he sold it - sign outside said "ex-Stoke City and England" used to think it was great, but could never imagine the aging tubby fella behind the counter playing for Stoke until I asked my Uncle.
Can remember my mum coming back from King Ford having dropped her car off for a service almost wetting herself with excitement as she had sat next to Peter Fox whilst they sorted out her courtesy car.
Have to say the best one so far is the bloke whose dad brought Graham Shaws old suite ;D ;D ;D

Met Peter Thorne when he was playing for us at a mates wedding and talked non stop to him during the meal about Stoke - good lad and really enjoyed the banter - he didnt even have a glass of champagne to toast the bride and groom as he was off to play in the Isle of White tournament
Then met him about 18 months ago in the Spearmint Rhino in Tottenham Court Road with one of his Norwich mates.

Played golf a few times with John Ritchie, also went same school as is son. Presented trophy as captain of football team by Jimmy Robertson, still got the photo in Cyprus. Funny claim to fame really had half the stoke football team round my bed in hospital after my road accident in 1978. Also spoke to Ian Moores castle and here in Cyprus.

My Granddad played for all three local sides, including as spell at Stoke whilst Stan was at the club.
My Granddad, my dad and me shook Stan's hand at a book signing in the old club shop. I'm pleased I saw them together as they both died within a few years.

I was hitching a lift to a Stoke game in 1975 and got a lift from Peter Shiltons mother and father in a VW beetle ! Does anybody stop for hitch hikers these days. He had played for England in mid week against Cyprus, England won 5-0 and Malcom Macdonald scored all 5 goals. The game was a 0-0 draw against Newcastle, 2nd last game of the season. We should have won the league that year. We finished 4 points behaind Derby and we finished 5th.

Played in the same Lads n Dads Side (Parkside Royals) as Inchy also alongside him for Newcastle Schools . Played a charity Match on the old Victoria Ground against Signal Sounders, in our team we had Tony Lacey (youth team coach at the time) also had Harry Burrows who came on as a second half sub and scored with a chip from 30 yards. Signal had Mike Pejic playing for them that was Scarey........ They also had John Rudge playing for them although he was still the Fails Manager at the time Played against and kicked Lee Chapman whilst at college.
Happy days

I spent two weeks in The Gambia getting rat-arsed with a very close relative of the Queen and ended up lending her £300.00.....It was only when I got back to England that I realised who she was by the name on the cheque and her address.
In all honesty and innocence,.. she and her husband were absolute bloody lunatics and it was the best holiday for laughs and madness ever...a once in a life time job..
Pissed as a fart every day from 11 onwards ...Gin And Tonics .. They once owned a Stoke on Trent Company too back in the 1970's .....and she reads this board quite regularly...
That is gospel truth...I kid you not.

Was introduced to Big Chris by Ash Wooliscroft (who is a mate of a mate) on a night out a few years back....
Every time I've seen him since he calls me Dave, even though that is not my name...I'm not sure if he genuinely thinks my name is Dave or if he's just a big Only Fools & Horses fan?
Nowadays I work for Sheffield Utd and will probably get to speak Lumo on sat as Charlton play the Blades....I'll see if he calls me Dave again...
Watch this space for continuing coverage of the 'Iwelumo acquaintance name-confusion saga'
