Being 30, my childhood in the 90s had a lovely mix of parents' vinyl, new CDs and the thoroughly shit tapes. I had a MiniDisc player when I was about 13 and an MP3 player when I was 16 and now I use Spotify for 95% of my music. It's interesting as a teacher to see kids who clearly know MP3, CDs to a lesser and lesser extent as the years go by, and have no idea about Minidiscs or Cassettes. I think it's ace, even if a bit hipster, to have this resurgence in vinyl. CDs always seemed a bit cheap and janky even when I was buying them at the rate of one a week, I was never a fan. Nobody seemed to like Minidiscs and tapes were just full on wank technology all round. Records are like an artifact, though. They're a piece of art in their own right. A tangible thing with proper artwork and notes, something that you can handle and touch and smell and enjoy. Streaming and MP3 are undoubtedly kings, but what a strange, cyclical shift. Will there ever be anything that replaces streaming? How can it? I've got a great little vinyl collection of my own though, and I'm happier with it, respect it more, and am more proud of it than my whole CD collection in about 2004 which, at its apex, had probably hit 400. I still have a mini disc player and a Commodore Amiga?

Yes and we’re still leaving Lol. I agree with you. We need to tell some people on here that the UK is leaving the EU in March. They still seem to be dissatisfied. A week is a long time in politics

I would guess that the majority of companies listed on the FTSE100 are multi nationals but it is project fear for you to suggest that they will all move with no deal. You don't have any proof whatsoever that this would happen. In fact many companies are already doing the opposite including one of my clients who works for Associated British Ports who are investing £36M in a new facility. UK companies will continue to prosper regardless of what happens with Brexit. And how would Associated British Ports move abroad in a no-deal scenario? Build a port in France to offload cargo then re-ship it to the U.K?

Fair enough. I have watched him for ages but not quite managed to place his accent. I've noticed he knows his football but I've never heard him plug The Potters. I'll add him to our 'cebrity fan' list and never mistake him for a likely Leicester fan again ! Is no discerning accent as he is privately educated. He hosts Granada news and is their equivalent of Nick Owen on Central B.B.C North West is his show, also he took part in the Pudsey charity walk from Ulverston to the Wirral and sometimes presents BBC news at weekends.

We are still in,so why would the effects to come after leaving be affecting us now? The EU have intimated they would be fine with a Scottish request to join in theory ? Merry Xmas Would the scots be happy to adopt the euro ? This would be a pre requisite They did not want our £

Think it is more project fact? How can it be fact when it hasn't happened? 😂 Wales voted Leave too. Northern Ireland should unite with Ireland anyway. Should Scotland actually vote for independence in the future (and as partick says there just isn't the clamour up there for another referendum), if you think they'd just join the EU as simple as that then you're incredibly naive I'm afraid. We're leaving. Deal with it. We are still in,so why would the effects to come after leaving be affecting us now? The EU have intimated they would be fine with a Scottish request to join in theory ? Merry Xmas

Mine is Isambard Kingdom Brunel who for me was the one who managed to merge earlier inventions into a force which pushed our country into a brave new future (and i believe the son of a immigrant) Merry Xmas all.

What put the Great in Britain was to a great part funded by the slave trade gun-boat plundering of wealth and other such crimes we as a country committed,i fear leaving the EU is more likely to take the United out Kingdom . What about taking the industrial revolution to the world with great minds and all the inventions it has put forward? we have contributed a lot of positive things in our history. Talking of the industrial revolution and great minds and inventions who would class as the best British engineer?

Once we leave it will open up a huge can of worms and it will split the UK up. Scotland will vote for independence and will rejoin the EU as will Wales and ni You will also see parts of England demanding independance Shit storms coming but Shhhh you are not allowed to mention it project fear It's possible Scotland may vote for independence following Brexit. But don't bet on it. Nicola Sturgeon ain't very confident hence her two year prevarication on Indyref2 as polls up here stubbornly refuse to support independence. So your prognosis about the dissolution of the U.K. seems more hypothetical than probable. Which, I reckon, is as good a definition for what constitutes Project Fear as there is. Think it is more project fact?

No what put the great in Britain Was being that little bit better at doing what the rest of the world was doing You cannot committ a crime for something that was not a crime at the time What does the United in Kingdom mean? because that is what leave is threatening to spoil and as for your first point if you think what are country did in the past was acceptable and was not a crime i do not share your values ?(if you actually have any)

Last time I looked, it was already there. Problem with our democracy is first past the post, proportional representation would gives us a much fairer society,i would under such a scheme vote for a liberal or maybe even Green party i have for years voted for Labour (because no "Liberal" or Green candidate was on the ballot up where i live) but with Corbyn in charge i am up the creek without a paddle
