The article in question is clearly about Stoke's Republic of Ireland internationals. The OP clearly states (in a later post) that NI internationals are included as well. ????

i'm more than happy to give him the gratitude and respect he deserves on his FIRST return to the Brit, on 1 condition....... considering that we will then have given him respect, banners etc. at the first game he faced us and then AGAIN at his first trip back here, we can then finally put the whole fucking thing to bed, not expect everyone to roll out the red carpet and wave palm leaves whenever he comes back again and not have to have the same old fucking thread that drags on everytime someone feels the need to post that he farted or they spotted someone who may have looked a bit like him somewhere in the world while they were on holiday so therefore now desperately need to discuss (again) whether he was the second coming for us or lucifer himself. we get this done next weekend and then no more fucking threads, no more sucking him off when he comes back time and time again and no more arguing over whether he was or wasn't a wanker. we have a perfectly good manager now who i'd rather spend my time discussing than this same old shit every bloody week! deal? You're happy to give him much deserved gratitude and respect but with conditions .... ?? Jesus fookin wept.

Neither a lover or hater but judging by some of the comments on here if Fuller or Lawrence or any other ex players come back here (granted in a cup game) they are in for a shit storm as they are then the enemy! Yes they would be, and rightly so. This is a Premier league football club, not an old boys reunion club. Christ almighty... This bloke Pulis was our manager who took us into the Prem and kept us there with a spirit and "up-yours" attitude that we ALL embraced and enjoyed (if you didn't you were not a Stoke supporter) .. ok his tactics became too rigid and one dimensional but no one can deny his achievment. He left without a thank you from the majority of Stoke fans. He was sacked. He didn't leave for another Club. Let's give him a massive Stokie ovation as he exits the tunnel and then of course hope his team get hammered.

What a silly comparison. Yes....think he will appreciate a rousing standing ovation. He'll be doing his damned hardest to ruin your day so why roll out the red carpet? It's called gratitude and respect for one of our Club's most successful and high profile managers who never had a proper send-off. After the standing ovation we are in competition and hope he leaves the stadium with his team and tactics thoroughly dismantled.

I can't figure out wether to go and welcome my former boss back from his summer holidays, I don't work for him anymore but reckon he might appreciate a warm welcome at the airport. Moral of the storey, does he really give a fuck? He'll have nothing but 3 points on his mind not wether the majority of Stoke fans go wild when he enters the arena or not What a silly comparison. Yes....think he will appreciate a rousing standing ovation.

Mark Hughes will be judged on this season. If he gets us to a cup final and 10th place or above I will agree he will be our second most successful manager. I reckon two record-breaking Prem finishes with next to no investment already trumps our cup final appearance frankly + the European adventure which was then earned by default. All whilst playing attractive football in the main. TP did a fine job on the whole and gave us our pride back but MH has taken us to a whole new level. As I say ... let's judge Sparky on this season. His team...money invested....record signing. Let us hope that he becomes THE most successful manager in our history. It would be nice comparing him to Super Tone 1 for a change.

I said 2 years prior to his departure that he was slowly but surely stripping all the pace out of the side in order to find a place for steady Eddie plodders who would be played out of position ....guess what happened ? He was killing many fans football soul so let's not kid ourselves .....for every one good game there were 10 absolute rancid ones Clap all you want I've not got a problem with it .....just accept there are many who won't and it's their call What I do hope ( and yeah I've been as guilty ) is that after this game all this bollicks ends Spot on werro,he nearly finished me with the game in his last season and it took til the very last hr to renew my season ticket, in the end the missus at the time did it anyway online,I really was done with it under him. Complete dross week in week out. I will be giving him Two fingers, he's the opposition now and how long is this pathetic love in going to go on ffs. Two fingers.?? Nice. Pathetic.

TP did a fine job for us and deserves a decent reception as long as he does not diss the current management team before the match. I remember the crap before the West Brom game last season where he mentioned that "I really don't know who Mark has signed". Well, Bojan and Arnie both for a song to name but two. I would not have him down as second most successful manager anyway as Hughes has achieved more in 2 years with far less investment. I expect we will need the 3 points against West Brom to get our season really up and running so let's not get distracted by a tedious sideshow. Mark Hughes will be judged on this season. If he gets us to a cup final and 10th place or above I will agree he will be our second most successful manager.

Think he'll get some stick from Vale fans next Tuesday? Funny how its landed that they play Vale then Stoke As a former successful, famous manager of SCFC, I would be very surprised if he didn't get any stick.

If anybody thinks he'll get booed then they are as daft as the ones who will do it Clap, wank, do whatever you want as he jogs down the touch line but there's plenty who will just pass it off as another ex manager returning Get over yourselves eh Oh yeh ...we've had a lot of successful ex-managers coming back to Stoke over the years haven't we.... There's whotsisface and thingybob and a host of others

So much bitterness and hate towards a huge figure in our history. Very sad. Yes...very sad. It's unbelievable actually. Standing ovation required on his first return to the Britannia. Nothing more, nothing less. When the whistle blows he is just another opposition manager.

Think that's a great idea actually. I really hope that the Oatcake don't take the piss ... seriously. We've already taken the piss out of him since he's been appointed WBA manager when we did the Sky Hawthorns "Game of Throw Ins" spoof. Like I've said, we've been taking the piss out of WBA managers since virtually the day the fanzine started and we're not going to stop now. We penned a three or four page TP tribute in our first issue of the 2013/14 issue and he'll probably get a small mention in the next issue because he's the manager of the team we'll be facing but it'll be nothing OTT. Think it will be small minded if you don"t give him some serious mention in gratitude in this his first visit back to the Brit. Give the guy a nice non-piss taking tribute He deserves it.

The time was right, we were going backwards but that doesn't mean I (unlike many on here) will forget all he did for our club anytime soon I don't buy it at all. Â He'd still be here, 40 points the sole aim, and you lot telling us we've never had it so good and we should be grateful. Nobody is saying that he should still be here... What we are saying is that he deserves some massive respect and s standing ovation on his FIRST visit back to the Brit. Is that so difficult to understand?

Just trying to find a good photo of Shaq. Good man! In all seriousness, this is a tricky one for you, as TP will be met with much emotion. However, he is manager of an opposing club. If you make no mention of him it looks small time and petty. If you go over the top with adulation it will be a little odd. I don't envy you in your task. Perhaps just a back page photo of him with the word 'thanks' underneath. Think that's a great idea actually. I really hope that the Oatcake don't take the piss ... seriously.

I think it's a joke to be honest, all the shit being written about TP. This is a man who transformed our club and made us into a strong and stable premier league club. He took us from the bottom end of the championship to Europe for fuck's sake. Mark Hughes has since carried on the growth of our club and took us into the top half and we may well hit top 8 this season, thanks to his efforts. The respect I have for both is massive, so how the fuck so many people here seem to have so little respect for TP, I'll never know. Yes, after the cup final of 2011 we did seem to go backwards and after Christmas of the 2012/13 season we were dogshit to be quite honest. He left at the right time, that goes without saying, and LMH has done an excellent job since coming in but the lack of respect for the capped one from some on this board is quite frankly fucking unbelievable. Thank you sir Thought it was just me

"undoubtedly happen" Think you are underestimating the soul and appreciation of SCFC supporters matey. If we do not stand as one and give TP a rousing round of applause I will be very disappointed and sad. This is a bloke who transformed our Club. Alright then, it will PROBABLY happen. Pulis traditionally makes a late entrance at games. By that time, the teams will be read out and the sole focus of attention will PROBABLY be on Shaqiri and possibly Bojan. Pulis will get a good reception, but it's not going to be a wall of noise from 25,000 Stokies. It'll be a respectful and appreciative applause, that's all. Let's see ... Think you may be surprised.

Not this old chestnut again. Yes ..we are/were very lucky to have BET365 on our side But we needed a manager to get us there and stay there.. In thirty years time the Stoke fsns will be talking about TP with the same reverence as the first super Tone.

What will probably happen is that Pulis's appearance will go pretty much under the radar because most of the home crowd's focus will be on Xherdan Shaqiri - our record signing - who'll probably be making his home debut, and who knows maybe Bojan if he's on the bench for us. TP will make his little jog down the touchline, get a round of applause, wave at Block 19 who'll be singing his name and that will be that. It will all be much of a muchness and not really worthy of the fifty page thread this will undoubtedly end up being by the time the match comes around. Really sad. You are so bitter and twisted it is making you come out with stuff that is absolute bollocks. Give the bloke the fucking reception he sbsolutely deserves.

No quarters given?? Where the fuck do you think you are ? He put our Club back in the limelight with not so pretty football. Probably the second most successful manager we have ever had. He was sacked without the fans being able to say goodbye. If any fan cant stand to his feet and give him a rousing reception when he walks out they are a disgrace. Two successive top half Premiership finishes would suggest that his replacement is our second most successful manager. He got a rousing reception at Palace, it's done, it's a distant memory, no-one is a disgrace if they don't stand and clap him, it's their choice. Standing and applauding the manager of the side who have become our local derby is embarrassing in my opinion, I know you won't agree with me but that's how I see it. No other fanbase pines after a former manager as much as ours, it's quite worrying at times. Might just be why we are a bit different from your "other" clubs. Might be just why we should show TP just how much we appreciate what he did. Some people were not fortunate to be st the Palacce game ... let's give him a brilliant reception. He deserves it.

TP got an ovation and even banners at Palace. Part of the reason I went to that game was to show my thanks, he get an outstanding reaction from the fans who went. West Brom he got a milder applause but MH name was sung loud and clear. TP should get what he deserves, an applause as he takes his seat and both barrels as soon as the whistle is blown. He would expect and deserve nothing less, he helped to create the hostile atmosphere, and concurrently should now be a recipient. And if he makes any snide or back handed insults in his pre match press conferences which he is likely to do, I don't care what he did for us he should get whats coming to him. My loyalty is to Stoke City Football Club first and foremost and by extension of that Mark Hughes. Not Tony Pulis and I would hope everyone else is the same. The man has had all the respect he deserves and will get applauded when he comes out unless he says something he shouldn't pre match. He's still an opposition manager and its a perfectly good chance to get a result. I want us to beat his side a damn site more than making sure he knows "we're forever grateful". TP is loyal to who's paying him and he did a overall good job for us. But on the whole its still mainly a job and he works for WBA now and wouldn't think twice about getting any advantage he can over us to help them get a result. And don't forget it No quarters given, fuck all. None No quarters given?? Where the fuck do you think you are ? He put our Club back in the limelight with not so pretty football. Probably the second most successful manager we have ever had. He was sacked without the fans being able to say goodbye. If any fan cant stand to his feet and give him a rousing reception when he walks out they are a disgrace.

His charity work is a credit to him mate and he should be proud His football philosophy and what he churns out is what rankles with many myself included Absolutely correct but some people can't fathom it. Look....I was a big critic of his football philosphy but when he got us to the promised land and kept us there my purist thoughts somewhat disolved and started to admire what this bloke had actually achieved. If some of you fuckers are so bitter and twisted not give the bloke a fully deserved ovation then I think you are not a true stoke supporter.
