I'm dead chuffed for brentford, really pleased. Anyone who beats the Arsenal is in my good booooks. Got me thinking though of way back when we were in div 3, and they had a decent side too ( at that level), I'm talking the macari years. We were locking horns together towards the top of div 3, and they had a really useful forward/ winger.... ๐ค Think his name was Ricky otto or something like that, and he went on to play for " Barry fry's" Birmingham City. Just mewsing really. Ricky Otto played for Leyton Orient not Brentford as I recall. Can't remember him playing against us for Brentford. Yep, you're right dave. I got mixed up again. Not hard for me ๐

We need to take the piss as much as possible "There here there there, there every Fecking where- empty seats" "Your Supposed, your supposed to have a ground" "This stands too small for you, This stands too small for you" Try not to upset them too much though- we have to get out remember " shit ground, no fans, shit ground no fans" or " come in a taxi, you could have come in a taxi" Joking apart though, this does have the recipe for turning really ugly, what with planned marches and demo's. And who can blame them really? Absolutely appalling treatment of their supporters. Be careful to all the faithful who are going.

He's like a death-eater, sucking the happiness out of the world, whenever I hear him interviewed. I can't imagine it's he most inspiring team talk in the football league. Totally agree. I hope he comes on here and reads this thread ๐ค

Easily one of the most boring people that have ever lived. A legend in his own lunchtime. Can't stand him, would put a glass eye to sleep, and he looks like his breath stinks like a skunktrappers pouch.

Anyone else already bored yet of seeing Messi's head superimposed on the latest Stoke City/Newport Town/Radcliffe Borough/Hanley Town kits on social media........... I wonder if he's aware of the famous " wet and windy Tuesday night" expression?

I don't think this will be too far from the mark except I think brown will start over surrige. Yes this is what it will be with Brown for Surrige. No way Chester will start, MON basically said he's not fit yet in the pre-match interview. And Batth has to start, he's just about our best chance of a goal! Agree Gods. Conner wait 3-1 (fletcher 19, Brown 41,Surrige 82)

I admire your positivity after the 2nd half of last season.. an if it does go tits up u will also look very very stupid.. the fact is nobody has a crystal ball seeing into the future.. so none of us have any idea how this season an the future is going too go for us Fair point. Our manager has done enough to steady a sinking ship, in my opinion, to show that he is the man for the job, all this after saving our sorry arses from the oblivion of lower league football, because make no bones about it, that's exactly where we were going when Jones was fucked off. A job, that however certain people on here believe to be a piece of piss, was probably one of the toughest gigs in this division, and the work he has done with shifting as many of the "dead wood" shithouses in our squad as he has done is exactly what was required. Just remember he is only 18 months or so into this job, which was always going to be a massive rebuild, and when I hear shit like "we should be at least play-offs with this squad" like we did last season it makes my blood boil because it's as if, all of a sudden, people have forgotten about the complete mess we are in/were in behind the scenes. The signs are there if you want to see them that our manager is doing a real good job at stabilising this club from top to bottom and he will get us challenging at the top end of this division given time. That might not be this season but I'm confident that many people will be eating massive slices of humble pie soon enough. Absolutely right Vincent. Also some seem to forget that he's done all of this with his hands tied behind his back in regard to financing new signings and rotten luck with injuries to key players. It seems like some stokies really revell in our demise, just to say " look, I said this would happen, aren't I clever". I hope they can find it in themselves to support the club and not just moan when it doesn't go the way we want it to.

It really amazes me, reading some of the comments on here regarding the Surridge transfer, how some on here can call themselves Stoke fans. The lad hasnโt kicked a ball in anger yet and heโs already been written off as a no-hoper. Who do these people think we are? We certainly arenโt a โ BIG โ club as some people put it, and never will be. Weโve always been seen as a โ retirement home โ for ageing players who want a final payday. We now have a manager in MON who is trying to change that mind set and should be applauded for doing so. There also seems to be some kind of stigma attached to city, with some outsiders calling it a โ shithole โ etc. which may have a detrimental effect when it comes to signing new players. This of course may be true but Iโll say one thing, having been a born and bred Stokie, it will always be โ my โ shithole and anyone who pulls on the Stoke shirt, will get my 100% support, providing they give 100% effort and the lad Surridge seems to have something to prove. As regards to the Delap pantomime, I honestly think the lad would be crazy to go out on loan to a championship side. Surely staying in and around the First team squad at MC would enhance his career. Anyway, just thought Iโd add my three-penneth to the transfer debate and give our support to the players who turn out on Saturday against Reading, whoever they may be. Well said marrer ๐

Doughty has taken some part in exactly 36 adult pro football games in his entire life, most of them in the 3rd flight of English football. I would imagine MON has no idea at all whether he is good enough or not at this point in time. I can see him having to try to bat his way in off the bench, certainly not an automatic starter. Very sobering add that to Campbell not until December. And May be not firing all season and a manger saying The only thing about pre season is we havenโt got the squad sorted itโs looking pretty grim some early set backs and the rhythm form the second half of last season is re-established and the weโve done noting in tens fo pace Power or leadership to assess that . Please go away

I really donโt like their kits. The white one looks like a Leeds kit and has no black on it? Just doesnโt like a Vale kit. The away top looks a piss yellow colour A frothy first thing in the morning dehydrated piss at that.

How do you come to know all of this mcmuffin? My parents are friends of Andy Griffin's parents in laws. They're called the Mclanaphys ( I'm sorry about my spelling, I've definitely spelt that wrong, but it's a reasonably common northern Irish name). He's married to one of there daughters. ๐ค Helen perhaps? I dont know. Anyhow, the point I'm picking you up on is that the word back then was that he was anything but happy to move to Newcastle, as he was settled here with his and her family. And he was told to go,or at least coerced into going. "for the good of the club" and all that. And a big pat on the back, thanks very much Andrew. How much of that was Jez Moxey ๐คทโโ๏ธ, I don't know. But I'd just like to know, how you know he was 'happy' as you say to go? As I'd heard that he really wasn't. Griffin was a guest on Jon Parkins podcast recently (under the cosh). He spoke about his career and specifically about his move from Stoke to Newcastle. He was very keen to go and the club turned down a bigger bid from a midlands club (Leicester) so he could move there. Oh, well I stand corrected. Maybe he changed his mind when he got there ๐
