The reference to Taylor was very tongue in cheek Jamie. Wouldn't want him. I'm rapidly thinking that Carroll would be a superb acquisition though.

Maybe we could do a double raid on the Geordies and sign Steven Taylor too. That would certainly put a cat amongst the pigeons.
Just imagine getting rid of Sonko and Beattie (arguably 'worth' about £60K a week in wages) for one of the hottest English strikers around?! Sounds good to me.

Top stuff MD. I (pretty much) agree about Delap. I think Whitehead is a better central midfielder, but Rory is completely wasted on the wing. His energy in the centre of the park is vital, and he gets through far more work than Whelan.
It's been a frustrating season seeing Delap playing out of position, and he looked far more effective in the final 20 minutes yesterday when he was moved to the centre (admittedly further forward than normal).
I personally didn't think Matty did that well yesterday. As much as I hate him, Neville pretty much had him in his back pocket until the final quarter of the match, when the game was over as a contest.
Man Utd and Chelsea are lightyears ahead of other sides, and we shouldn't judge ourselves on results against this pair.
It's been another tremendous season and I think the most rewarding aspect has been that we have been picking up points against sides that we should do (i.e. not relying on 'freak' results against Villa, Arsenal and Liverpool last season)

Beattie and Kitson are obvious, but apparently the other two are NOT Lawrence or Tuncay. Scratching my head as to who they could be to be honest.
Silent man Amdy Faye?

Looking at the replay from his effort, it appeared to come off Ferdinand to me. Cracking save though (especially for a 39 year old!)

Here are some quotes from today:
Pulis on Stoke's dressing room, "There's been bad vibes from certain individuals who think they're better than what they are. Some realise the club has moved ahead of them, but you get three or four others who put themselves ahead of the club. They're more concerned about their own status than the club's and think we're doing them a favour by paying their wages."
Tony Pulis on precious players; "You get this me me me situation and it can kill the club the dressing room and really break-it up."
Pulis on Tuncay, "His attitude has been absolutely first class. he doesn't socialise or hang around but he's been fine. Not a problem."

I agree John. Whelan doesn't seem up to it. Diao showed more creativity in his 20 minute cameo yesterday than Whelo did all match.
Pugh does a good job and his versatility is very handy to the squad- we should definately look to keep hold of him.
I'd love us to sign that one true creative central midfielder this summer (hopefully O'Hara).

We were parked in Salford and some pleasant lad thought it would be nice to spit in my face, while another prick started on me and my mate. Wasn't wise to retaliate though as there were about 15 of the buggers. Not a copper in sight Hope this chap is OK.

The phrase cheap was very much tongue in cheek. For that price, I fully intend on ripping my seat out at full time and keeping it at home.

Brian Wilson has also been released from Bristol City. Always thought he had good promise- just doesn't seem to have worked out for him. Another player leaving Ashton Gate is Lee Trundle, and we all know about his Trentham house hunting

I thought the conga lads had gone out to grab a beer (who could blame them, the first half was woeful) and then they appeared to my left hand side on another set of stairs. Brilliant! ;D Gabriel Zakuani sat on my row too- his missus got very excited when Etherington scored. Nice to see Gabby supporting Stoke rather than Fulham.

Firstly, I am still buzzing from the victory last night. Having thrown those three points away against Bolton, I didn't think we would beat last season's tally, but the lads have proved me wrong (not for the first time). Anyway, we aren't the second team to do it, we are the third. Birmingham City managed 48 points in 2002-03, and followed that up with 50 points the season after. As has been reported, Blackburn also managed it in 2003 (60 points, following on from 46 points in the previous season). Well done Stoke

Fair point about Dicko, he could be worth another look at. I'm not really convinced by him at this level but I suppose he is still relatively young.

Am I right in thinking the players out on loan to Championship clubs are now back with us and available for selection, or does their loan officially end after the play-off final (despite their clubs not being involved)?
If they are back, I'd be tempted to chuck Ryan Shotton on the bench tomorrow, if merely for experience only. Not much point in involving anyone else, as they should be off in a few weeks on a permanent basis.
