Absolutely magnificent craft. A Spitfire flew over us during an open air concert a few years ago. (Pomp and Circumstance/Land of hope and Glory stuff). I actually started blarting! At Download this year, Iron Maiden had arranged a flypast by Spitfire just before they came onstage. We could see it in the distance circling and then it suddenly straightened up and flew over the stage and out over the crowd. That was special but then it turned and came in again over the width of the arena, directly over our heads and so low the roar of the engine went straight through you and shook the ground. Ive never seen so many grown men get so excited and so dumbstruck atnthe same time. It was an awesome moment.

I know its a bit of a long shot on here but i'm looking for a job in catering in Yorkshire or maybe Greater Manchester area.
15 years experience as a chef, ranging from rosette standard fine dining to industrial contract catering.
Just been made redundant from Yorkshire water due to them deskilling their catering service ( to cut costs and protect their pitiful £330 million profits).

Even Sir Stan crossed to the dark side for a while so its not a massive deal. Besides, itll be a pisser when he scores a last minute own goal in the last game to send them down before running to the fans and screaming 'fuck off back where you belong' and ripping his fale shirt off to reveal the red and white stripes underneath

But RIP.

According to George Galloway they aren't worth it, and he says the numbers of MPs should be cut to 200 ( from 600) at most, as most of our laws are now made in Brussels. George galloway isnt worth the shit crust off my underpants. He is a disgusting little racist, rape sympathiser who only got elected by sucking up to the mosques and muslim elders (as respect only stand in areas they can do that) who then told the rest of their communities who to vote for. Then when he squirms his way into a seat he totally neglects the people and area he is supposed to represent and spends all his time bleating on about the middle east and Palestine and organising pointless marches against shit that has nothing to do with Bradford. Apart from a small number of extremists and lefty dogooding wankbuckets, nobody wants him in they city anymore, including normal muslims who can see that he is just using them to further his own agenda. Fuck george galloway. Fuck him right in his ear.

So a fat talentless karaoke singer or a bunch if past it old duffers who were 'ok' about 40 yeard ago? Spoilt for choise indeed. I'm not the Rolling Stones' biggest fan but please don't try and put them in the same bracket as Blobbie Williams. They were the two alternatives offered so I used them. Dont get me wrong, I like a few stones songs but I wouldnt pay anything to see them now based on what ive seen of them on TV over the last couple of years.

But seriously, hope he'll be alright. True rock icon. We need a statue or something of him in Stoke. There was a campaign to do just that but the council threw it out I think.

Quite worrieing for a man of his age to start having these issues. It was obviously serious when they started cancelling dates and eventually the whole tour.
Hopefully he just needs a good rest and will be ready to go again soon.

I agree you can't. Waiting lists rising across the whole of the country , budgets slashed across the board and consultants warning of increasing pressures due to population rising significantly. The warning is that in many departments cannot cope and that cost comes becomes before care. www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-14034835Shall we look at why budgets are under pressure ? It's those nice new hospitals Labour built under PFI that cost what 3-5 times as much to rent as building and owning them ourselves, where changing a couple of quid lightbulb will cost 10 or 20 x that. These consultants where were they when hundreds were dying at north staffs (and other places it seems). This is spot on. The NHS was slowly being killed under labour with budget and job cuts and the slow moving of facilities into private hands. The tories are just a little less sly about it and are speeding it up. Balfor beatty (or whatever the cunts are called) charge £15 each time the porters use their radios at our 'local' shiney new PFI build.

Why would you pay to go see hideous dribbling, out of control, braindead creatures when you live in Blackpool? You are starting to sound like mumf......! Thats a bit harsh! Its nothing personal against Blackpool. We view everyone west of the Pennines in the same way

Back in the day (1988) being a fan of skid row Bon jovi even GnR were frowned upon by school mates who liked maiden, Judas Priest. My first gig was W.A.S.P. at Vicky hall on the headless children tour. MCR I like possible one track, I'm starting to like paramore but they getting more pop, nickelback are currently my guilty pleasure as my 3yr old loves burn it to the ground. At the mo I'm really getting into Disturbed, shame they have stopped touring I guess there's always going to be a perceived split in mainstream/pop rock and the harder stuff although I do think there's a very fine (dangerous) line being trodden by pop-punk bands these days - they seem very "safe" in terms of image and music. Busted/McFly have alot to answer for. I remember W.A.S.P. at the Vic on that tour - good gig. Blackie Lawless is still scary despite being "born again" (see also Dave Mustaine and 'Junior' Ellefson) - saw W.A.S.P. again at Mcr Ritz last autumn. I like Nickelback too - I don't understand the snobbery that they bring out in some rock fans - there are others far more deserving. How do you get round the "lyrical challenges " of "Burn it..." with a 3 year old? Or is it the radio edit version?! Quite looking forward to seeing them at the Liverpool Arena in November. Disturbed are cool too - as you say, shame about the touring stopping. 'Bob - I can't quite suss out A7X at times either. They also seem to have catapulted to Arena status - last time I noticed them touring was a double-header in smaller venues with another band - can't remember who. Sometimes I like them, sometimes not - I saw them supporting Iron Maiden at Twickenham and was a bit disappointed. Mind you the sound was sh*te that day. I was at the Maiden gig at Twickenham. First time seeing them live and it was a fantastic day. Baking hot, absolutely shitfaced and confusing the hell out of loads of St helens fans headed to their game at the Stoop who couldnt work out why they were getting tons of abusefrom a couple of random metalheads (were both Bulls fans). Avenged are a strange one. They seem to have become massive for no reason in the last year or so, to the poiny that theyre being touted as possible headliners for DL

Agree & then some Yorkie - Rammstein swept all before them - what an effing show......... lil bit disappointed with Maiden (Brucie seems to have lost his edge a bit) but the wind screwing up the sound and me overdoing it a bit on Friday probably tempered my enjoyment!!! Great to see the Spitfire from the BoB Memorial flight - great wing wave as he disappeared into the distance.... Korn were particularly awesome, as were 5FDP, Coal Chamber and Newsted, who we managed to catch in the Pepsi Max around 6 on Sunday....QotSA are a hard listen for me, and Gaslight Anthem seemed not to want to be there......Parkway Drive (makes me think of unfiltered fags me granddad used to smoke) were a bit weird - death metal screaming voice then almost high-pitched friendly Aussie banter in between songs...!! That said, and whilst I'm pretty open minded at these events, 30 seconds to Mars were the singularly most appalling "band" I have ever had the misfortune to witness - what a crock of shite......and Andy Copping the organiser introducing them...sickening - should have had Limp Bizkit on to warm the crowd up for Rammstein instead of clashing with them......... Anyhow, we'll be there next year again no doubt...... I cannot disagree with what u said, disappointed bout maiden (left after 10 mins ) & 30 seconds big let down. Yesterday was the best day got my face painted. But there plenty of dirty looks because of it (f**k em), Corey Taylor is a legend. Had a great time in the jäger bar but its crippled me. Talking to Dave a stoke fan who goes home & away, he was with his wife (I got her a jäger bandana for her son). Nice couple! Anyone on yellow camp this morning threatening to knock out some dicks for chucking cans.? We were on yellow, towards the side nearest the race track, just past the top of the hill. We packed up sunday morning and headed off straight after Rammstein. Was surprised how quiet it was, got two good nights sleep for a change.

£120 to see some talentless skank mime and prance about? Really? You listen to inaudible shouting don't ya? Doesn't really leave you with much scope to pass judgement like. Inaudiable shouting? Bit of a sweeping judgement to make on a huge cross section of music? Having just seen the 3 best live acts on the planet this weekend, id say I was in a good position to pass judgement on a glorified karaoke singer ;0)

What a weekend!!!!!!!!!!!
Thankfully the weather was nowhere near as shit as last year but some of the performances were off the scale.
Slipknot and Maiden were immense as always, Motorhead, 5FDP, Mastodon and Korn were brilliant but the set of the weekend was the Germans by a hundred miles.
Anybody who claims any of the current crop of nomark pop shit, lipsynching wankery put on a 'good show' should be made to watch Rammstein. Nothing I have ever seen comes close to that for entertainment and jaw dropping over the top mentalness. I have never seen so much pyro. Add in the fact that they are a fantastic band with some amazing songs (MeinTeil, Benzine, Links and Du Haast were fucking awesome) they are a million miles ahead of ANYTHING out there at the moment when it come to live music.
Roll on DL 2014 \m/

Sack him.
All this 'respect ALL of my religions beliefs and demands' is getting way out of hand.
If i went to my boss and told him that my imaginary sky daddy said i have to have a £5k a month payrise and i am only allowed to work on tuesdays, i would rightly be told to fuck off. Any religious 'demand' should be treated in the same way. If you want to follow ancient and outdated rules then fine, but companies and employers should not be bullied into accomodating them.

Saw them at Download last year and they were brilliant.
I was really worried that it would be a let down what with Ozzy being totally fucked but the bumbling fool we see on the tele is a million miles from the frontman who can still have a crowd of 90,000 eating out of his hand.
Under normal circumstances Tony Iommi is a cool mother fucker and an amazing misician but factor in that the guy is fighting cancer and can still put in a 100% performance like that and you have a true legend.
