I went see them in April. The dark edge was gone and it was mnore a Sabbath celebration than anything. The singer is a very good anti drugs advert!

Yeah they were never going to be the same without Bill Ward on drums. I've recently read Osbournes autobiography. How he's still alive, i'll never know!

Despite the lack of Bill it was an ace show. Iom,mi is the man though. He's a bit of a cool bastard on the quiet too.

The album is so popular with the forces, apparently the generals are gathering in their masses. I'm here all week......unfortunately

Does one of them still live in Standon on the cross roads opposite the church. He bought it years ago and refurbished it. My later cousin lived opposite him.

I saw an interview with Geezer Butler and he said when they were staring out the charts were full of songs about San Francisco and free love.He was like I come from Aston, all that hippy shit means fuck all to me.Thats where all the hard edge comes from. Not growing up in southern California but in the industrial West Midlands. Proper blokes in a proper band.

Went to see them at the Victoria Hall years ago. Think that''s why I've got tinnitus now. (Could be something to do with Budgie, Judas Priest and Queen also?)

Budgie were great Bispham - but oh so loud! I went to see Sabbath with a mate, I'm not a massive fan, but I do like a heavy bass. My eldest son (who lives in Bristol) is a musician, I go to watch him sometimes. He's been touring with a Wolverhampton based singer songwriter called Scott Matthews, but that's more civilised folk rock stuff! I've seen him shift a few cobwebs with other bands up at the Sugarmill as well though. I usually go home and have a mug of horlicks afterwards these days. rock and roll!

I've got a bass Jonah, still struggling to look cool though! I've brought mine out of retirement(the cupboard under the stairs)after watching Talking Heads play physco killer on the old grey whistle test. I've still got it.

I like bass don't get me wrong ....but it was too much with Sabbath , purely a matter of taste , Budgie I liked and have seen at the Viccy Hall in about 1975 ? ...now they have a heavy bass line but it doesn't drown everything else....great guitarist they had called Tony Bourge , the singer/ bass player was Burke Shelley I think ?......horlicks eh! Not bad with a shot of brandy in it !

Saw them at Download last year and they were brilliant.
I was really worried that it would be a let down what with Ozzy being totally fucked but the bumbling fool we see on the tele is a million miles from the frontman who can still have a crowd of 90,000 eating out of his hand.
Under normal circumstances Tony Iommi is a cool mother fucker and an amazing misician but factor in that the guy is fighting cancer and can still put in a 100% performance like that and you have a true legend.
