Another Plymouth loanee recalled.
We wouldn't, would we?

Yeah, think we can say he's not for sale. Just a slight worry it's going to force Bae out onto the wing www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stoke-city-lewis-baker-rotherham-9033037“It was a brilliant goal, yeah. Unstoppable. That's the sort of ability that Lewis's got. I'm really pleased for him. It's been a tough season for him. He hasn't played loads of football because of his injury but since we came into the building, he's been bright. “He shows his quality on the same pitch and every day and he does things properly. That's what I like about him. He looks like he's a proper model professional which is what we need at this club. I’m delighted for him, it was a special goal.” “He's unbelievable (in terms of scoring potential). He's one of the most naturally two-footed players I've seen and worked with so that’s a bonus. He can shift it to either side and shoot from the edge of the box and that’s a brilliant skill to have. Not many people can do that – and he has other attributes as well. I’ve been really impressed with his work rate and how competitive he’s been. He hasn’t just been getting involved when we’ve got the ball, he’s done a shift off the ball which, as a midfield player, you need to do.” “I think me picking him in the last few games has sort of said that. I think he's the type of player as you say that I like in that system. He’s a midfield player that's comfortable on the ball, he competes really well and he's got a goal in him. “The most important thing for him is that he stays available, keep fit, keeps working hard in training and he’ll get to know that system better the longer we’re here. He's done really well and he's a talented player and we need people like that.” If he’s playing well who cares? Why wouldn’t you want the best player in the best position. Competition for places can only be a good thing surely He doesn't seem to see Bae as one of these "Number 8s" he speaks of all the time. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0h2km4p (48 mins in) He pointedly listed Cundle, Baker, Johnson and Laurent as his No. 8 stable pre-match. Could've been an oversight, but maybe shows where his mind is at with regards to where he sees Bae, which is a little bit at odds with the eye test so far. If Baker and Cundle are the 2 he's going to pencil in ahead of Burger for most games, it's going to be interesting to see where he sees Bae.. especially if another wide player arrives.

Strange one with Junho, he got off the coach but not even on bench Shame he wont be involved. Must be a good reason for it. Hes in the team for me most weeks if hes fit. Quality player. Picked up a knock on his hip in training. Too sore to play according to Cavanagh, the coach, on Radio Stoke

www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/rotherham-stoke-city-live-stream-9031680Team news: Cundle and Iversen make league debuts Luke Cundle and Daniel Iversen make their league debuts as Stoke City take on Rotherham United in the Championship. Steven Schumacher makes three changes from the last league game, against Ipswich on New Year's Day, with January signings Iversen and Cundle joined by Sead Haksabanovic in the starting XI. Jordan Thompson drops back in at left-back after serving a one-match ban last weekend in the FA Cup vs Brighton. Luke McNally and Michael Rose are in defence, as well as right-back Ki-Jana Hoever, while Cundle is joined in midfield by Lewis Baker and captain Wouter Burger. Haksabanovic and Andre Vidigal flank Ryan Mmaee up front. Bae Junho misses out on a place in the squad after picking up a knock in training. Tyrese Campbell returns to the bench after coming back from hamstring injury and Ben Pearson is also back on the bench.

twitter.com/Scott_Morris125Scott Morris, the Kiwi keeper, has liked this post saying he's signed for Stoke - and a few tweets from Stoke fans. Seems to be a genuine account as it's followed by Jonathan Gould and former Millwall player Paul Ifill, who was his club manager until last month The fact Simkin has gone to Forest Green may confirm the New Zealand reports he has signed - and is now effectively No.3 keeper?

Possibly Fuller, I can't see him not having Mmaee as his no 1 choice. I think we probably need them both on the pitch to carry much of a goal threat. I'd start Campbell wide tomorrow. It's hard to see him starting Campbell down the middle and leaving Mmaee on the bench in the short-term (although we'll see who this new forward player is and where he fits if he arrives)

If he sees Mmaee and Campbell competing for minutes in the short-term, may suggest that the "forward player" we're looking to sign this month is more of a wide player - which would tie in with what Fraser Fletcher said and the talk of Poku?

No the helicopter comes over my house in blurton every away game and lands at the stadium then comes back to there a few hours after the game. Seems a bit unusual on a Thursday afternoon though?

There are only seven Heliports in Central London and one of them is for Air Ambulances so a player could come from any club. In fact I think Charlton and Millwall are almost as close to Battersea as Chelsea and Fulham. Miles Leaburn? Hmmm.... www.charltonafc.com/news/leaburn-undergoes-successul-hamstring-surgeryOut for 5 months with a really bad Doughty-like hamstring tear

Are these no longer available free of charge? For some reason, they don't put them on youtube anymore - or promote them at all. But they are free. Just got to sign in on the official site.

Still not 100% it's a No.9-type, rather than a more versatile player who can play wide too. Suppose 'forward player' could cover that? Frazer Fletcher did mention winger which brings people like Poku in. www.stokesentinel.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/stoke-city-transfer-steven-schumacher-9028187“We hope so,” he said this afternoon when asked if the hunt was progressing. “These things take time, especially with forward players – you find it’s complicated with the way that deals work but I think we’re moving in the right direction. We know what type of player and what person we would like to bring in, it just takes a bit of time for that process to take place.

The local paper in Christchurch has said that the New Zealand keeper has joined Goalkeeper Scott Morris has signed for English club Stoke City, joining the reserves of the championship team. I posted this about a month back and I’m told he was a Jonathan Gould recommendation so I wonder where that leaves him now🤔 Yeah - wonder if it was all signed off when Gould was still here? Or been confirmed subsequently? Odd one with a player that age, especially if they're not out on loan getting games. No idea where he'll fit into the pecking order. Presumably, given his age, maybe No.3 in the short-term, above Simkin and Blondy (who looks like he'll be off in the summer) Iversen Bonham Simkin Blondy He'll be okay for the rest of this season playing for the u21s you'd think - but beyond that, he'll need games.

(although he is 22) If true, he must have a British passport? www.yumpu.com/en/document/read/68595958/the-star-january-11-2024

What kind of profiles do we see for the (reported) two further possible arrivals - forward/winger and left-back. Both in the £1-2m range and youngish? Poku would maybe seem to fit that bill for the winger. But just been having a skim and can't come up with many obvious ideas for the left-back if we're excluding loans and frees. Nothing Tchamadeu-esque seems to fly off the page. Prem LBsChamp LBsL1 LBsL2 LBswww.teamtalk.com/news/southampton-battling-middlesbrough-and-two-more-champ-rivals-to-sign-free-agent-wing-backThere was an unconvincing link to a free agent, Sorinola. www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/rangers-celtic-linked-next-paulo-28401827There's an apparently good LB available at FC Twente as he enters his last 6 months - but is being linked with the Old Firm. So still possible we could look abroad for someone who meets the work permit criteria without the need for a wild card, but they could be pricey. There's also a young English player doing well at Hearts, who could fit the bill. But seems a bit strange there've been no links at all with us clearly in the market for one - and one we're probably going to have to splash a bit of cash om.
