I hate the new name and prefer the old one . That is all. Let's keep the old name and stop any potential income. Maybe even go down? Sound good? Or, let the coated family who, have had their wealth increase 1.4 billion giving a total worth of 3.75 billion put money into the club for us to grow? That is all. Yes ....indeed . Because its all about money isn't it ? How many tins of spam would that get you ?

I thought he was very average when he first arrived and that he very slowly improved over many months .
I think that he thinks that he is actually better than he is and his arrogant attitude clearly shines through .
His current reluctance to sign a new contract epitomises all that's wrong with Premier League footballers .
I think the club has to make a stand on his wage demands and not give in .
I would not pay him a single penny more than the manager believes he's worth .
Would I have any qualms about selling him ....No absolutely not.
Would he leave a bad taste if he left in such circumstances ....Yes , it's pure greed and lack of loyalty to the club and the Stoke fans .
Do I think he will be here next season ....No , I think he will move to the highest bidder .

500 staff to be laid off. Blimey Staffs how many people does it take to run your club !!!! Including the playing side The Villa had about 1,600 on the books, like I've said before we are set up to be a top 6 club in every aspect, stadium, hospitality, training ground, marketing etc, but with one exception the most important one the team Never mind , there's the Burton Albion Derby to look forward to .....I think they have 16 running them ....

A lot of people are seduced by a smooth tongued sharp suited manager with a foreign accent who spouts the 'play the right way' mantra. So if he was fired I am sure other chairman would be interested. I know a few ITKs at Everton and it seems that Kenwright will stick with him into next season. I have to say if I was Kenwright I would be tapping up MH and his team who may be questioning whether they can take SCFC any further. Sadly Everton and MH looks a good fit to me. Well....who's to say he can take Everton any further than he can Stoke . It's not as if he hasn't got the backing here . I don't think Everton have got bucketfuls of cash to throw around and to be honest I can't see him being remotely interested . Hughesy seems very happy and content here and has job security . Why spoil it ?

One can safely assume that you were not raised on a council estate in the Cultural Quarter or any other quarter for that matter and that you had free and unlimited access to music on a regular basis . You may not have also experienced the joys of an outside Kazi in the depths of winter in altitudes of above 600 feet and went on family holidays by car each and every year . You were also allowed to grow your hair quite long in your formative years and never had to rely on Shipmans spread and jam as the basis for your nutritional staple diet up to and including 18 years of age . Candles were never used as a means of merely keeping warm , but as a means of providing an ambient 'spooky' light in long hard winters . You probably have never saved Alpine pop bottles either or realised the significance of doing so .....Rock on Tommy

You are spot on . I don't need reminding about the mercinary nature of Premiership footballers and what's important to them . Its all very distasteful and shallow . Not only does it detract from the spectacle of watching your team , but also provides a valuable insight into their mindset . Not all players are like this , but in the main most are . You don't see many driving around in a Fiat Punto or Ford Focus do you ? Its all about me , me ,me .... If you earned the kind of money that Premiership players earned would you drive around in a Punto or a Focus? I don't think so. Many footballers are detached from the reality of the working man; so are film stars and pop stars. You may not like it but you have to accept it; its simply a different way of life than the vast majority of fans are used to. Just because they have very expensive phone covers and watches doesn't necessarily mean they don't give a shit and are happy to get on the pitch and lose. As for the "mercenary nature" bollocks - there are very few who would stay in the same job if there was a big pay rise on offer somewhere else. You and I might be a Stoke fan but realistically you can't expect a guy from Austria to have the same emotional attachment to the club that we have. If you had the opportunity to ever meet me then you would soon realise that your assertions were so far wide of the mark thqt they were untrue . It would no doubt apply to most people ,but not me . Has anyone actually watched the clip? As far as I can tell she's pointing out that rather than a memorial to commemorate what was an undoubtedly horrific atrocity we come together to remember all acts of genocide. The obvious problem with that being the vast majority of such acts of genocide and terrorism are as a result of Jihadi's in recent times . I'm not sure if that would sit kindly in the minds of the leader or those students she represents . Secondly , to ignore the greatest genocide in history as a single entity would in many people's eyes (regardless of their religion ) be simply wrong and irreconcilable . I would have to agree with capto views above . I don't need religious leaders to tell me what's right or wrong . I live my life by my own rules and values and do not have to rely on the views of some mythical 'God ' or feel the need to observe the wearing of certain garments to prove my allegience . Most of my clothes are cheap and cheerful and covered in animal fur ....could be the reason why I can't get a girlfriend .

Just by the mere posting of this news story on here will inflame some on here . Many fail to see or understand the painful memory many Jews have in relation to this holocaust but instead prefer to speak out in the defence of how tolerant the Muslim community is etc . There never seems to be a balanced or honest approach to such matters of historical importance. One can only assume that it is a failure of our education system and what little empathy younger students have in relation to this matter . Tolerance only seems to apply to their own warped agenda and is not necessarily the views of their own parents and grandparents . its all very sad .... You are a daft sod. Don't think I've ever seen anti-Semitism on here, but if you're going to infer that people have opinions based on fuck all, then it's only fair to infer that you have opinions based on an equally spurious appraisal. I believe that you have a warped agenda. And that is that you believe sexual activities between man and dog are OK providing both parties consent. You've never presented evidence to the contrary now, have you. I think I may have hit a nerve. Your tone and manner subsequently is not one I want to 'debate ' with further . Go and fill another bucket of shit and see if that works .... mumf

You can watch a porn film but it's not the same is it. Interaction is better and until our kids are taken on safari as part of their education I think our Zoos offer the closest alternative. As for do I think the kids have a right to see the worlds wonderful creatures? are you suggesting that only rich kids have that right as only they will be able to go to Africa etc. Do you realise half our kids never go to the sea side never mind Africa. It is not their fault they were born poor, so yes I do think the kids have a right to see ALL this world has to offer. I just asked my grandson who is 12 if he liked going to Chester Zoo and his reaction was "When are we going again I love it." Sorry I can't afford to take him on Safari If Zoos are inhumane then we need to improve them but to close them down would be folly on an epic scale. Maybe you would like to reintroduce Bears , Wolves and Wild Boars to our countryside and get rid of cats as apart from a Scottish one the rest are not indigenous to Britain, perhaps travel to Java to see one in the wild. We (the human race) have destroyed the habitat of so many creatures and introduced many more into places where they do not belong, pictures of a Giraffe will not let you appreciate the sheer size and smell of the animal or the whistling it makes to communicate with it's kind. So the joy our children get from seeing the animals in person and learning from that experience is paramount for me. Far from ideal, but far more than a video. no-one has a god given right to go and see any wild animal. they're animals, living creatures, they weren't put there just for you to ogle and go "Oooh isn't it cute". they're not there for our purposes and for our entertainment. if you are lucky enough to have the opportunity to do so then great it's a great bonus, a luxury but are you telling me it's ok to kidnap an animal from it's natural habitat because us humans have decided we all want and have a right to gawp at it purely for our own entertainment?????? yes it's fun but why does your grandson's fun and him loving it override the right of the animal to actually live it's life in the way nature intended it to? nothing but utter human arrogance..."I don't care if the animal isn't living the life it naturally should be or if it's 100% happy in the life we decided to give it whether it liked it or not, my grandson enjoyed it so fuck it" bloody hell, talk about completely missing the point massively mate! I think you need to understand the changes that have been introduced my many zoos across the world and also how many successful breeding programs that have occurred as a result . Many wild animals have also been reintroduced successfully into the wild , but these things are what we least here about . To put my comments into more context , then have a read on what I have just written above ..... You do make valid comments on certain aspects of cruelty etc , which still happens sadly here in Europe , but there are good points to keeping many Zoos for breeding and veterinary purposes . My own vet and friend is a leading exponent on this view and lectures on this very subject along with providing veterinary expertise at two or three local zoos . If you have ever watched the 'Super Vet ' programs on the TV , then it will give you a good idea where I'm coming from .... He would be the first person to condemn bad practise and also to draw attention to certain millionaire TV celebs who have taken their own domestic pets to be treated by the PDSA , rather than pay the normal rate . payment is made my donation as I'm sure you already know , but this is how some peoples approach to animals and their welfare is born out of selfish apathy . i won't bore you with the finer details or mention Knotty Ash and how tittylated I am ...... mumf

So the joy our children get from seeing the animals in person and learning from that experience is paramount for me. Far from ideal, but far more than a video. I would love to see the re-introduction of previous native species such as wild boar , beavers etc . They would recreate a much more diverse and habitable countryside for many more plants and animals that have struggled to survive since their extinction . This for me is not because they look pretty , but because they actually belong here . The problem in this country is that 98% of people are so far removed from nature that it is impossible for them to appreciate the reasoning behind their re-introduction . I have experienced this first hand when my local angling club was vehemently opposed to Otters sets being constructed along our stretch of river . Their only interest was the damage it would do to the fish stocks....I merely reminded them that this was nature and in nature their are winners and losers . They seemed very distant and angry to the points I was making and did not appreciate that the explosion in mink numbers was killing more fish than half a dozen otters could ever do . Infact , the introduction of species like the otter would help curb non native animals like the mink as they would attack and kill any in that particular area . There are currently two areas of Beaver studies going on and the issues surrounding their introduction a more complex argument that would require a far more tolerant and sympathetic approach from land owners and the general public as a whole . The same also applies to wild boar , but their numbers have increased dramatically and now cover large areas of the countryside especially around the south west . The bottom line in all of this , is that there has to be the will of the general public and government alike ....but can you see your local Muslim MP (and no offence to him/her) in agreeing to the re-introduction of Wolves or bears to the wilder parts of the British Isles ? I maybe generalising ...but I suppose there are equally as many uneducated white British MP's with similar views . This country is currently being concreted over with little or no concern being expressed in its defence . You only have to see the views of the leftist contributors on here to see where I'm coming from . You don't have to be a rich landowner or farmer to see the devastation all these new homes are having on our countryside . It's not just about the stresses being put on our infra structure , it's also about our culture and our wildlife . It could be one of the reasons why I might follow the path of a more rural existence in retirement to reminisce of more placid times growing up on the outskirts of the city ..... Do I sound like a born again tree hugger ?

The ocean off the west coast of Africa was always famed for its rich diversity of sea life , but even that has come under intense pressure after the Gambian government gave away its inshore fishing rights to major Japanese corporations in exchange for a very small building project and renovation of old buildings . As a result the fisherman that now live in them have no fish to catch and spend all their time begging for money and escorting fat middle aged British women looking for love ..

They do wonders for raising awareness of endangered species, and what about the kids whose parents will never be able to take them to see any of these creatures in the wild. If they have the space and conditions they need ive no problem with zoos. Theyre probably more useful for the developing world though where the people generally dont give a shit about animal rights. Look at the Giant Panda. People were hunting them to extinction and now its the death penalty if you touch one. They do play a vital role in preserving many endangered species and even though many of the smaller private zoos are pretty ruthless when it comes to making money , the vast majority of western zoos have improved their standards immeasurably . The issue here should not be about the Zoos themselves , but the preservation of wildlife in their native country , but in many places across the world wild animals aRe simply being slaughtered for profit . It's all about cold hard cash . They have no interest in preserving the species . The African elephant and Lion are two such examples. I expect that both will become extent over the next 10 to 15 years in the wild . There is far too much corruption and gain to be made from the slaughter of animals in Africa . They simply do not give a toss . The governments are weak , pathetic and open to bribes as are in some cases park officials . It's a very sad state of affairs . I've seen this first hand and recently in the last month had a close friend experience similar whilst working out there . Here's an example of what I was describing above and have personal experience of ....there are many many more examples allafrica.com/stories/200302170540.html

Chester Zoo is a fantastic place, a mixture of education and preserving endangered species with decent welfare facilities for the animals, one or two pens could be improved, I have been to zoos like Madrid which should be shut down, when ferrying one of my lads around Europe for his degree in zoo management and his masters in Wildlife conservation Off topic slightly , but if we did leave the EU then I'd love to see a 20 mile exclusion zone around our coastline for all foreign fishing vessels . America did a similar thing to protect its cod numbers and they flourished as a result . The damage done by trawlers to our seabeds is catastrophic and has long term consequences . The only way of preserving our resources is to prevent these massive trawlers from fishing in our waters .
