I was told this earlier tonight that apparently he has tonight's match and Saturdays v the Shit to save his job, well it looks like he's got one foot out of the door already. Gouranga.

Surely no other club will be daft enough to employ him afterwards.

Awful, awful manager.
He's essentially just a breast with a pair of legs attached to it.

I don't see why Wigan didn't sack him... Whilst he was with them in the prem it was the same survival campaign nearly every year

Talking about the sack, he'd make a fine Father Christmas.

I hate Martinez, so happy he's finally getting his comeuppance.
He was the best manager in the world 2 seasons ago, the man in line for Barca.

A lot of people are seduced by a smooth tongued sharp suited manager with a foreign accent who spouts the 'play the right way' mantra. So if he was fired I am sure other chairman would be interested. I know a few ITKs at Everton and it seems that Kenwright will stick with him into next season. I have to say if I was Kenwright I would be tapping up MH and his team who may be questioning whether they can take SCFC any further. Sadly Everton and MH looks a good fit to me.

One thing's for sure: keep him next season, and they'll be circling the relegation plughole. Somebody needs to come in and save the sinking ship.

Well....who's to say he can take Everton any further than he can Stoke . It's not as if he hasn't got the backing here . I don't think Everton have got bucketfuls of cash to throw around and to be honest I can't see him being remotely interested . Hughesy seems very happy and content here and has job security . Why spoil it ?

But according to a good friend, who is actually chairman of the ex players charity, and close to Kenwright he doesn't see it that way. There is no question that some of the fans lost patience with him some time ago but many at the top at Goodison remain seduced.

A couple of my favourite Roberto quotes, the daft mentalist.
Roberto Martinez on…Gareth Barry * “I have never seen a player with such an incredible professionalism and standards as Gareth Barry. For me he is one of the best English players ever.”
Roberto Martinez on…Tom Cleverley * “I think you do not have a better English player. Technically, he is as good as you get. The way he executes, how he reads the game, for me he is one of the most sensational you are going to see in Premier League history. I wouldn’t sell him for any money in the current market.”
Roberto Martinez on…John Stones * “John Stones is in the right environment to fulfil his potential as one of the greatest players England has ever seen.”
* “He’s an out and out defender and then, for me, he’s the best footballing centre half in Europe, so he’s allowed to make his own decisions.”

Why spoil it ? I am hoping you are right Mumf, however I am sure Hughes is ambitious and is itching to have a crack at a euro competition. The longer we go without achieving that the more it must ask some questions in his mind about what he can achieve at SCFC. Everton are a similar club in many ways to SCFC only a bigger fish sadly. Its a well run club, big fan base and a decent honourable chairman. They now have some extra financial muscle too. I think its one of a very limited number of clubs that could tempt Hughes
