How much do you reckon we could get George Thorne for? I'd love him here competing with Whelan. Everytime I've watched him, he just looks like a top drawer footballer. Composed on the ball, physical, and tactically aware. Very decent player. Probably around 5-7 mill I reckon.

He strikes me as one of those who you love when he's on your side and hate him if not. I agree, he should be the type of defender we should be after. You mean like Ryan

What I wouldn't give for us to sign him in the summer. A fabulous defender & a leader in the dressing room. Him & Ryan together would be the best centre back partnership in the league. No chance in hell Swansea will sell their captain but that's the sort of player we need to be looking for , not fucking Bartra ...

Why is everyone still focussed in signing players from relegated clubs. It's like we're still a Tony Pulis team. We need to be looking forward not backwards. They're gettable and not all of them are bad players? Hughes will go for Cattermole though, which I don't like. Not after his performance against us he won't

I'd rather throw a shed load of cash at them for Denis Suarez, no chance, but great player. If we're planning on throwing shed loads of cash on players we've got no chance of signing then I'd rather throw my cash at Luis ?

Is Bartra an actual defender's defender, or is he another John Stones 'fanny about' merchant? I hate to sound like March but the type of centre back we need has to be a hard bastard who loves heading things and kicking people, first and foremost. If he can Bobby Moore it up at the same time, all the better, but it can't be the primary requirement. Huth? Fucking Hell here we go again

A fair bit depends on who goes down as there are one or two Newcastle and Sunderland players I'd be interested in if their team was relegated.I think, if all are fit and firing, we are only looking at two, maybe three, new starters (central striker, left sided centre back and possibly defensive midfielder). Of course, there should be two or three more added to bolster the squad (left back cover, wing cover on both sides) and replace departures. I'd prefer quality over quantity this summer. Why is everyone still focussed in signing players from relegated clubs. It's like we're still a Tony Pulis team. We need to be looking forward not backwards.

I have to say Will Hughes really impressed me today would be just what we're looking for as a Whelan upgrade. British and young too. Isn't he another attacking midfielder? We don't need any more #10 players. God know we have too many already.

We need to shift a few on. Crouch, Wilson + Ireland. I'd sign a new striker too which means one of Walters, Joselu and Diouf should be moved on. We need a winger, a forward, a centre half and a midfielder. Long, Berahino, Redmond, Tiote, Townsend - any of those. Long - No way in hell Southampton will sell him to us & even if they do he'll cost a lot of money. I'm talking 15-20 mill plus. Not worth it. Berahino - Not only is he not worth the 20 mill they're asking, at this stage I wouldn't pay half the price. The bloke's overrated as fuck. Redmond - Now we're talking. But we better hope Norwich get relegated in that case. Tiote - We're not a retirement home. He's been shite all season & if he can't get into Newcastle team, there's no way in hell he should get into the Stoke team. Townsend - Better hope Newcastle get relegated for that to happen but i don't think they'll let him leave so soon plus he's not getting any younger you know.

A lot depends on whether Ryan and Bojan ever get there full fitness back after a good pre season. If they do I'll go with GK - Butland RB - Johnson CB - Shawcross CB - Bartra (though unlikely) or Keane or Tomkins (who I think will be replaced next season by a big buy) LB - Pieters DM - NGueye or Allen (Liverpool) DM - Imbula LW - Arni AM - Bojan RW - Shaq CF - Batashuayi There's absolutely no way Liverpool will sell Allen in the summer & even if they he'll cost over 20 mill & as for Batashuayi, let's be honest it's never going to happen, especially we big clubs like Juve & Bayern circling the water. And based on what we've seen this season, it's either Imbula or Bojan, not both. Imbula doesn't have the stamina or the discipline to play as a holding midfielder. NGueye is the exact sort of player we need. Take a look at these videos & look at the number of times he wins the ball back -
He's the Whelan backup that we've been looking for plus he's also quite fast so he'll add pace to our midfield.

Well in that case we really are screwed aren't we? He scored 12 goals last season. How many do you think it's reasonable to expect from our main striker for us not to be "screwed"?
From the video, it's quite clear that last year his strongest asset was that he just happens to be in the right place at the right time on more than one occasion & he's pretty good in the air. But last season we played lots of balls in the box, which we haven't done this season. This season we've tried playing through the middle more & Diouf isn't particularly effective in those circumstances. We have to play to our strengths & players like Arnie & Shaq are most effective when they're making cross field runs from the outside to the inside, not when they just lump the ball in the box. We need a striker who complements our style of play & Diouf isn't the right player imo.

Bojan isn't a striker, he can't resist dropping deep to collect the ball & try to dictate play. The formation you suggest is pretty much 4-2-3-1 again. And we've tried that formation before, most notably in the 2-0 defeat at home to Watford.
Sparky generally plays a more offensive 4-2-3-1 formation at home & a safer 4-3-3 away from home. The last time we tried playing 4-4-2 was in the 3-0 tonking at Leicester. And before that in the 2-0 defeat at the Emirates. The problem is if you're going to play a 2 man midfield, you better pray that those 2 midfielders can cover a hell of a lot of ground. Take Kante & Drinkwater for instance, on average they cover more distance than most players in the league, which is why Leicester can play 4-4-2 so effectively. Whelan, Adam, Van Ginkel, Imbula - none of them have the pace & stamina to play in a 2 man midfield. Nzonzi did.

We aren't going to get a more reliable or prolific striker than Diouf when played consistently up front. Well in that case we really are screwed aren't we?

Let's be honest the bloke's on 65k every week & he's imply not good enough. If someone came in with an offer of around 5-7 million, I'd let him go & bring in a younger, more agile & more clinical striker. It'll be win for both parties because Diouf isn't getting much game time anyways & we need to bring in a top goal scorer next season regardless.

why not try him as an out and out old fashioned centre forward, he has got pace, power, and good in the air Pace & power are no good when you can't pass with either foot & can't hold the ball with your feet for 10 seconds. Diouf needs a minimum of 4 clear cut chances to score a goal. Give our chance creation ratios we need a far more reliable goalscorer.

To quote my Spurs supporting boss, it has been a disappointing season as we finished behind Leicester. I like how you conveniently use that quote out of context. Leicester are having a one in a million season & if we were to finish above them then we'd be premier league champions. As someone said above, delusional.

Shows how deluded we have become. This delusion has led to one of the wankest atmospheres known since the Brit was assembled from a pack and folk were rattling around in it. The atmosphere at the Brit is whole different story. Let's be honest it's been missing since 2010.

So Ranieri to Italy Manager Koeman to Europe Eddie Howe to Southampton Martinez gone Joachim Loew(who I love) coming in at Everton Pellegrini to Arsenal Wenger booted upstairs. Rafa to Leicester TP on the move too I see him at Villa to do the back up job. Might give Martinez Bournmouth after all he is no1 media darling. That makes Mark Hughes no1 longest serving prem manager. lol they don't stay long now do they. Jochaim Loew? Ha They'll probably end up with Sir Tim Sherwood

Shaq has created 49 chances this season (that's the highest in our squad btw). If he's been terrible then what do you make of the rest of the squad?

Watford have spent a net of 62 million this season, that's almost 3 times our net spend. They got promoted with a very weak squad and they've stayed up comfortably and got to Wembley, money well spent IMO and I'd snap their hands off if they were to sell Ighalo. BTW I'm pretty sure we've spent somewhere near the £40m marks this season so it's hardly 3 times our spend. Gouranga. Yes but I was talking about net spend. We've also sold players for decent price.

Tell that to the Watford fans. They're pissed off with the hoofball they've been playing all season. Flores seems like a really nice guy but I think Watford might be looking to bring someone in with a more "attractive" style of play because the fans are now starting to become increasingly frustrated.

I can't understand why the Watford fans want Flores out, I think he's done a cracking job especially with the amount of players they signed, ungrateful wankers, I'm glad we gave them a pasting at their place. Watford have spent a net of 62 million this season, that's almost 3 times our net spend. He'd done decent but is it really been a cracking season for Watford? Btw just so you know Bournemouth have spent 50 million as well. With all said and done we've actually been one of the lowest spenders in the league for the last 3 seasons.

The cunt's been extremely fortunate in some of his games against us. This season, just like last season, he took all 3 points at the Brit with a penalty & a fluke of strike despite doing nothing for the entire 90 mins. And let's not forget that joke of a game when his Newcastle beat us 5-1 when we got 2 red cards.
Can't wait for us to wipe that smug smile off his face next week.

Our fans are like Man Utds, Shit at home but good away. Sadly you are spot on. Where's our famous atmosphere? Our famous atmosphere has been missing since 2010. It occasionally returns against the big clubs but then goes missing at all other times.
