Probably Ralph, but so many people did preach the doom scenario with confidence and certainty just to get their own way.....now going back on it.....understandable that people don't believe experts. Don’t forget those who predicted the doom and gloom being genuinely pissed off now that it hasn’t come to pass......(fully expecting them to also say give it time to). I just find it so weird about actually wanting things to be bad and then being annoyed when it isn’t ....what sort of an outlook on life is that? www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51619608

Struggle with this one "post punk".Not really sure what it means a little like what is punk? A lot of the groups "not bands" posted on here definitely have their roots solidly in the punk genre.Others like Certain Ratio imo have nothing whatsoever to do with punk. A Certain Ratio are most certainly post-punk (Knife Slits Water is a quintessential example of the genre), I'd say Swell Maps are post-punk too, albeit very early. I think the big difference between punk and post-punk, is that post punk was a lot more 'art school' than punk, moving away from the simplicity of punk's power chord guitar riffs, introducing a lot more rhythmical elements (the bass on many tracks became almost a lead instrument) and it took it's influences from a much wider field, everything from Krautrock to funk to early electronica. Love that lyric “Heard it through the bassline”, still sounds relevant as a track. Them female punk bands faced some serious threat back in the day. They deserve a lot of respect.

Yep the supermarkets are packed out with panic buying. Not much meat, bread, water or toilet paper left... It only appears to be getting worse as they cannot locate the source of this spread. My kids schools are closed, all schools and universities in Lombardy are closed same with museums and cinemas and many shops, bars and restaurants. Even when infected. Only 1% are fatalXx

Both men would destroy the integrity of the fight if it wasn’t in the UK. Absolutely. And (more importantly) Warren and Hearn know it too. It'll be the biggest sporting event in this country since 1966 and it will definitely happen in the UK. Warren might be making noises about Saudi Arabia but that's just to maximise the income from staging it here. Neither promoter would be forgiven for staging it elsewhere. Saudi it is then...

Suffering with severe depression and anxiety. Can anyone recommend any decent websites where you can chat to people. I'd rather not talk to someone over the phone. You Tube has some decent characters. Work around the other items that are on offer to your delight✌🏼

Sanders has surrounded himself with the right allies and has gone on the front foot against critics who have tried to brand him antisemitic and a threat to Americans both domestically and abroad. Everything that Corbyn and the Labour Party didn’t do.... So was it cowardice on Corbyn’s part not to fight or something else...

Rupert Everett was on Desert Island Disks before Christmas, saying that as a kid all he wasted to be was a girl. He would take his mothers discarded frocks & bras & dress up as one. Until he hit 16 & realised he was gay. He wouldn’t have been given the chance to develop now.
That whole thing about blokes wanting to be women & be lesbians in a bit of a mindbender...

2nd time I’ve watched it. Much better commentary than the 1st, which was by a fella & a woman named Christine. I thought she was going to bust into tears when they threw the towel in. Well, Tyson mauled & disarmed Beyoncé. Quite pathetic in the end. £@#& knows how they’re going to mend that ear...

What happens at bottom of franklyn stand today towards away section. Saw two blokes with Stewards. Anyone know what went on? One of them made aeroplane gestures supposedly, one guy was saying he just had his hands up winding up the others think the other guy actually did it! Tbh one of the lads was in tears $#!t, That’s quite grim & I know people get tetchy about the Munich thing, but that’s ancient history. I wouldn’t even think about that, but you know them Taffs would be all over it if it were the other way round. No excuses✈️

Poor Leo... It’s all gone a bit wrong hasn’t it 😬 They’ve stitched him up like a kipper! Don’t you just love karma? Couldn’t have happened to a nicer, smug twat. Reminds me of the mouthy short arse in a crowd giving it large, but when it comes to having to put up, they run off to the the back looking for their mum. Sounds like some on ‘ere!

I suppose you had a University grant and no University fees, so back then there were plenty of people paying taxes on their pensions so that you could better yourself. Plenty would never have had the opportunity to go to university back then.
I did have university grant, a very small one because my parents were good earners, but didn't make up the amount I needed. I had to supplement it by working and as I said some of that I gave my mum. My parents paid far more in tax than I received in grant, and one year I did pay my university fee myself out of summer work earnings at Embury's. I'm not sure what you mean by "plenty would never have the opportunity back then". If you got the grades you got a university place, maybe not the first one you wanted. I can only think that you mean some parents were not prepared to pay. The Brexit thread is talking about menial tasks in the health and welfare services. I spent one summer working in a geriatric hospital nursery laundry. The pay was basic, but you got and extra 5d (old pence) an hour cleaning the foul linen, and you cannot conceive how foul unless you have done the job. At the end of the day the skin was coming off your figures. B!%dy’e!!, You were a rarity back in them days. A bloke from Stoke going to Uni. What was your degree in...

I mean, that doesn't mean he's not mentally ill mate. To attack someone in the religion you've converted to is a stretch even if you're looking for any angle to criticise Islam. Vulnerable people often just look for a crutch and get caught up with people offering easy solutions to complex (or non existent) problems. Take your strawman attention seeking bs elsewhere, I am replying to bath who seems to be implying by mentioning priests and the comments on not terrorism / islamaphobia that he thinks its because the guy was white. I was having a little joke around the word possession🤡 It’s not a laughing matter!

Just imagine if instead of Brexit the French had left. Imagine how the people of the UK would have reacted if the UK government tried to plug the gap left by the French contribution? The EU has never faced anything like this before, interesting times.. This graphic helps explain the problem... Europe is not a group of equals - which, I appreciate is stating the obvious. This though also applies to trade. Some parts of Europe are hugely dependent on trade with the UK. Ireland obviously, but also French farmers, German car makers etc... Until now, the EU has presented a solid front in negotiations with Britain. But that could easily fragment as individual interests come to the fore. Iconoclasm
