Never been involved with the Conservatives in any form. I just enjoy the banter on this website when it comes to politics as it makes a welcome change from talking about that long ball shite ;D

I quite like squareball. He keeps me on my toes. I reckon he buys The Sun every day and applies the LCD to everything except the rich and powerful. He'd have me back in the pit tomorrow if he thought it would earn him an extra bob or two in saved taxes. Keep it up, Jay. I enjoy your reasoning with those who won't. OS.

Northwich, I'm fully aware of what the Endurance was, and I'm also fully aware what signal it sent out when it was withdrawn. Please, whatever you do, don't equate my criticism of Thatcher to any towards our armed forces. I have, and will always suport them to the hilt no matter how unjust [IMO] the cause. They carry out their duties according to the instructions given by the leader of the day. Jay, I'll leave you to Squareball. He's the antithesis of social responsibility. He thinks it only applies to the down and outs and lazy sods of society, who he thinks makes up the majority of the masses. I know of a couple of single mothers who would screw his neck for his negative throwaway comments. Both have two jobs and and they probably work harder than he does whilst also bringing up two and four kids. OS. old stokie i now a few single mothers earning in excess of 15k a year who get their full child care paid for in order to work - all very admirable my wife as previously stated is in the raf she works full time as an air steward flying the boys into afghan etc because she is married to me we get no help from the government apart from £40 monthly for child tax credits for two kids - we have to fit the bill for our child care we have a decent joint income but we need two incomes to pay the bills and mortgage and child care. we would not survive on 1 i have been told i would be better off getting legally separated, i dont want to do this i want my flat screen tv, sky, season ticket, odd night out etc and i work very hard to ensure my family have these things there has to be benefits of working as opposed being a doley - there also has to be benefits of being a responsible working family group in this country at the moment their dont seem to be none well put Salop, I tend to go off on one when benefit scroungers are mentioned Too many people think the government should provide everything for them, e.g "my son has had a motorbike crash, the council needs to build a ramp for him" etc. "i want a three bedroom house because my 2 daughters want seperate rooms" "I need a bigger house, I'm only 21 and expecting for the third time, - no unfortuantley I don't know who the father of this one is either" Fook off wasters. Not intended or aimed at genuine out of work people trying hard to get into work.

We're never going to agree are we, Northwich matey ;D The only thing I would add is that it always appalls me how quickly, when an economic recession is underway, people turn on those on the supposed "lower rungs" of society. They didn't cause this. This idea that it is those at the bottom who are holding our glorious nation back, when it is those at the top who squander and committ corporate tax fraud and have off-shore accounts is ridiculous. Frankly, when faced with the prospect of the fifth cousin twice removed of the Queen becoming Prime Minister in May 2010, it makes the notion of the unprivileged being blamed for the mistakes of a group of bankers and their political/economic masters rolling around in their buckets of expense-funded money a little sickening on the ear.

Jay, my other half works for a housing association, there are some people in need of help owing to circumstances beyond their control, and there's the ones who want to screw us hard working people for everything we can get, and trust me there is a lot of them who contribute nothing and expect everything, they are the ones who should be brushed off the end of the cliff of this Island.

Squareball doesn't seem to understand that The CONSERVATIVES have historically slashed and burned all social welfare benefits and health provision to the point of destruction. They have no compassion for the poorer/less intelligent members of our society. People don't have a choice as to what they inherit between their ears and there will always be idle buggers who milk the system for all it's worth. The problem with the conservatives is that they feel it is more important to reduce inheritance tax liability and gradually introduce a system of private health care and privately run retirement schemes. We only have to look back to the scores of hospitals they closed the last time they were in control and the massive waiting times for operations that then ensued. The Conservative party is and always has been a party for the bigger earners in society. It was the Victorians who first realised that the country was only as healthy as those on the bottom rung of societies ladder....Like me for example. the problem with labour is it was more important to hit the so called upper classes and spend time banning fox hunting than solving the more important issues Not all fox hunting is done by the upper class www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1213322/Killer-dogs-used-gang-hunt-foxes--city-streets.html
