If he is found guilty and all the reports are correct IE throwing punches like a boxer would you want him at the club? Or more interestingly would he be in the same boat as Barton? I know it his first offense but is it his last? How many 2nd chances should HE get? This could be a tough one for those on tall horses. ;D

If Periwinkle got 'sent down' for a his no car insurance offence IF Gerrard is found guilty then surely a spell at her majesties pleasure must be a certainty?

Most GBH convictions result in a custodial sentence - for common assault and/or ABH probably most convictions would not result in a custodial sentence for someone who was not a recent previous offender.
Whether he gets a custodial sentence or not I wouldn't say he was in any way to be compared with Joey Barton. There is a world of difference between punching someone and kicking their head when they are on the ground which is what Barton did. And Barton had a record of offending going back a few years. . No way are they comparable.

I posted on here some time ago that through work I knew someone who was related to a rich twat with a helicopter who was involved in the legal team (prosecution) ... he also wears a wig to work.
He had said that Gerrard was on film, bang to rights, and would serve a sentence.
Seems to be going that way.

Affray carries a custodial sentence as far as I'm aware. The sentencing for affray was upgraded some time ago.

Having seen the film of him I think its quite possible he could end up doing a short gaol sentence.
As others have said a second chance is exactly what it says a 'second' chance and everyone deserves that. Joey barton has had at least five second chances and frankly we all know its only a matter of time before that loon flips again!
Can't believe it was an argument about a remote control!!!

In an ideal world he would get 18 months, but even if found guilty all he will get is a slap on the wrist, probation or a Scouse anklet. Although i do think that the victim is laying it on mega thick ''he threw punches with the speed and style of a Boxer'' just blagging a massive compo sub

Gerrard it should be said is no "shrinking violet" and his actions typical of someone who assumes that because of his public profile 'above the law'. Knowing how scousers stick together like shit to a blanket , I have no doubt that he will be proved not guilty in a court of law. The reasoning is quite simple : a very good defence lawyer, and a jury of half a dozen Lverpool fans who will be leant upon by friends who are also Liverpool fans. This is how these things go in most instances(Joey Barton apart).
I would be amazed quite frankly if he is found guilty. Most Crown Court trials are an absolute joke , and that also will apply to this one.
One way or another he will walk free.....of that I am certain.

lol I wondeed that! But assumed it was probably the latest geeky student type talk for high horse! Lol. It was just a sarky comment for the people who are indeed normally on their high horses. To see that vid he is just as bad as Barton. That is how the 2 can be compared. First he twats the bloke then he continues whilst his mates have a go as well. It doesn't matter how many times he has done it the fact is he has done it and is capable of doing it again. If as some people say Barton should never play football again then neither should Gerrard. He is a bigger role model than Barton will ever be.
