Yes if only there were such things as mobile phones, emails etc then his agent could keep in contact with him for negotiations while he was on honeymoon ready for a medical on his return!
Great signing if true and can get him fit for more than a few games, even if he does support Manure!

So if he's in the Dominican Republic, nothing will be officially confirmed until early July then?
Can't we get his signature on some kind of pre-contract?
I just hope no-one nips in for him at the 11th hour.

Thats the issue isn't it, FullerMagic. Whether we can keep this deal hush-hush and out of the press (which appears to be a big concern for Stoke) for the duration of a honeymoon. Pre-contracts could be signed I suppose but the fact he's on a beach and we can't lock him in a room must be an obstacle.

I just hope no-one nips in for him at the 11th hour. Dave was pretty emphatic when he said nobody would hijack the deal, even so, i do always think the grinch Arry redknapp is about to pounce on any deal we're about to break

I understand they have fax machines in both the Dominican Republic and at the Brit - who'd have thought it? He can sign a precontract and fax it to the Brit.
The days of Waddo signing players at Motorway Service Stations are long gone.

I have heard today that he would be having a medical on wednesday. The fee is agreed with west ham. My mate who told me about this today has always been reliable and doesnt tell me about signings unless he is absolutely convinced.
He also said that we are close to 'smashing' the transfer record on another CF aswell.
Happy Days!!! ;D

Ashton and Bent to go with Beattie, Fuller and Mama would be just about enough, I should think! ;D

I would be well happy, its a gamble but if it pays off then we would make about 15 million pounds. We must add another striker though.

Ashton is ok but I think we need some pace. Ric, Mama n Beats added to Ashton provide power but no pace. All my opinion mind. No offence, but have you seen Ricardo Fuller play??? He is pretty damn quick!

Don't think I'd class ashton as pacey, he's more like a old fashioned English striker, big/strong/good in the air and good enough with his feet, he'd certainly be challenging Beattie for his spot, not Fuller.
