I hate Man Utd and Chelsea equally. Arsenal slightly less, although after Wenger's outburst against us they were my number one hated team for a while, and Liverpool I just strongly dislike.

A corrupt, stinking organisation filled with over-rated cheats and players like Tevez whose transfer deals should have meant that both West Ham and ManUre were thrown out of the Football League in accordance with the Leeds City precedent. The government should take out a compulsory purchase order on Old Trafford, turn the board room into a brothel (what'd change?) and slowly destroy the rest of the foul den of victimisation and corruption.

I hate wolves and derby far more than i will ever hate man utd but i'm no 'plastic stokie' as you put it. I was there as well trudging through the 80's and 90's at the vic and beyond and i love the club just as much as you but i really hate wolves and man utd don't come close. You understand that football's not about hatred, it's about rivalry. We hate Liverpool (North-West rivals), and City (Manchester/Salford rivals) and Leeds (Trans-pennine rivals). All of these rivalries are justified and reciprocal. If I were a stoke fan, I would also be concentrating my 'hatred' on our geographical rivals, as pretty much every other club in the country does. All this 'how much do you hate the Shit?' is irrational nonsense. Before people hit the quote button, just remember that I haven't insulted anyone with this post, just made sensible, valid points. Have a think about what your rivalry as a club, not as an an individual with Manchester United is. As far as I can see there isn't any at all. One thing I will say, I would kill to have half the passion at OT that you lot have at BS. We only get it for the big occasions, Champions League games in the later stages and the Liverpool and City matches. Unfortunately, out of the 76,000 supporters, a large proportion travel from all over the place to watch, in turn killing the atmosphere completely. However, that doesn't mean people in Manchester and Salford don't support United. Salford, population 80,000 is almost exclusively red. The split in Greater Manchester (population 2 million), not taking into account Wanderers and Wigan fans, is probably 50/50 between United and City. I was born in Salford and live in Greater Manchester so I support my local team as much as any of you. The United fans you all love to hate, aren't football supporters, they're plastic fans who follow United from afar. Every club has these, but the numbers vary relative to the size of the club. If Stoke were to gain a foothold in the Premier League and become a Champions League club in years to come, you'll have the same problem. Our fans are often accused of being 'obsessed' with clubs like Liverpool and City. I think that's slightly flattering, but as our biggest rivals (with the exception of Leeds), it's only natural to look slightly worriedly over our shoulders before shrugging off the challenge. There's an ongoing theme amongst a lot of United fans at the moment of 'being a top red'. Like a code to being a United supporter, to which if you don't adhere, you'll be frowned upon... ie. no colours at games, hate Ronaldo etc etc... It seems to me that there's a similar thing at Stoke where if you don't hate United you're looked down upon. So in turn, you all naturally hate us because 'Ronaldo's a cunt' (he might well be, but he's our cunt), Fergie's bribed every football official under the sun, and all our fans are Out Of Town, Johnny Cum Lately Glory Supporters. It's all scripted, non-original and devoid of any though or personal opinion. Anyway, good luck to you this season, I genuinely hope you stay up, your home support is second to none and I can't get enough of Delap and his freaky throw in (where the fuck did that come from, never heard of it whilst he was at his previous clubs!) Why would you feel sorry for them? They are top of the league, in the 6th round of the FA Cup, the League Cup Final and the last 16 of the Champions League? You lot are embarrasing to our beloved Stoke. Obsessing over how much you "hate" another team. Maybe if we concentrated on supporting our own team that constantly talking about the World Champions (...incidently once more than England) then we'd maybe have something to shout about. |
