My own story began in 77...marooned in Biddulph on a School Exchange from Hertfordshire....luckily a certain Mr Crooks rescued that week and I returned to the Home Counties as an Adopted Stokie... Never looked back...

Well me and my dad won a competition on radio stoke i think it was, Stoke City v Birmingham City in 1983/84 i met the players in the dressing room, Mark Chamberlain, Peter Fox, Brendan O'Callaghan ect ect and had photo's taken of them, also was in the players lounge and had photo's done. I sat in the away end stand, and the Brum fans had the standing area below. been a Stokie ever since. mind u always have been since i was born in 1974.

A mate of mine from work used to get in free with his provincial betting office pass, so he got me in on it as well, in return for a lift up.
Went every home match for about 2.5 seasons until some twat from work reckoned he'd grassed us up, so we had to start paying!!

Dad bought me up as a Liverpool fan as he's a scouser, Mates were stokies and mar uncle too. Got mar uncle take me a game when I was about 7- hooked from day one.

My father's family comes from Market Drayton, so my Dad is a stokie and so were my grandfather, and great grandfather. Now my children and great grandchildren are Stokies too. I think that's six generations - seems a bit scary sometimes.

My Grandma and Granddad were season ticket holders who in turn brought my dad up following the faith who carried on the tradition and brought me up the right way ;D
My earliest memories following Stoke are sitting in the Butler street stand (in about 76) and watching the Boothen end throughout the game, I was amazed at how everyone moved and swayed packed in together. Then there was the long drive home to Uttoxeter.
We moved to Joiners square in about 79 then that was it The Victoria ground was my home for every game.
I've always followed Stoke even in the depths of despair I could never contemplate not going to stoke games.

My Dad is Scottish so I was born and raised a Celtic supporter.
I was born in Stoke and have lived here all my life though so I adopted Stoke (my local team) as my club.
Have been going home and away the last few seasons and matches on and off since I was a kid. My dad moved to Stoke 30 years ago when he met my mum and he used to go and watch Stoke in the 70's.
Celtic will always be in my heart but Stoke are in my blood!!

Was never really into footie as a kid as my dad was a bowls man. So I did what most young kids do and chose the top team at the time. Liverpool. I never went to a game and the closest I got was my dad bought me the yellow away strip. Then at the age of 19 I started working at Lotus shoe factory in Stafford. There was a couple of Stoke lads working there and they invited me along. That as they say was that. Lucky for me that I witnessed the passion of the old Boothen and that buzz just got me hooked. Regular attendee since then and had a season ticket for the last 4/5 seasons. I will not make the same mistake as my dad and my kids get constant reminders that we are Stoke and nothing else will do.  ;D |

I thought for a long time, that I was the first Stokie in the family, my mum was born in manchester, her dad was from warrington and had supported Man City as a boy in the 1930s . That was until he told me he was at FA Cup game in 1934 v Stoke when the crowd was over 83000 . he said his uncles had come up for the game from Stoke, they were all stokies .
I started watching stoke because some of my mates were stoke fans, and having grown up in stoke from the age of about 6 months old, I consider it to be my home town, and it seemed natural to support my home town team, I went to my first game in Jan '88 with a mate and his dad

I grew up in London, and despite all my school friends supporting Spurs, I never followed football at all.
I moved (well my parents did) from London to Stoke in the first half of 1996, and I suppose I became a glory supporter! Didn't pull it off that year, but I have supported Stoke ever since through some pretty bad patches, so it must have stuck somewhere.

I use to go to cannon street school we had an history teacher called MR HEEKS in 1953 we were told by him to go to the stoke game that night then he would let us in for nowt.Think he was on the board well i did and the rest is history>i believe the game was fulham and bedford jezzard played fogot the score [lol] so im starting my 56th year as a potter never lost my faith in the boys in red and white my dream came true this year seeing my boys name against THE top teams and taking points off them magic.We have a small band of true supporters down this way they like myself cannot believe that their dream as come true when we cannot make it to the game we always go to the grand central in paignton to watch the game will be there tomorrow

My mates old man took me to Vale circa 79/80, and even as a young nipper i thought what a shet hole, he was a director of the club and we sat in a box. Dad took me to see Stoke a few weeks later and the decision was made. I am a glory hunter if you like.

I was brought up in Penkhull.
When i was vey young you could hear the roar of the crowd on a saturday afternoon, when you were outside, this always fasinated me & i always wanted to go & see what it was like.
Once i was old enough i, i did just that, and got completely hooked.
I always look back & think that roar i heard as a child was like a calling ;D

when i was a young lad i was hanging around with some mates on my bike in blythe bridge and some big lads came up to us and started to push us about. one of them grabbed me and shouted in my face, "are you stoke or vale mate?!" not being that into football when i was that young i wasn't sure what to say, then i noticed my mates brother mouthing the word 'vale' to me. i knew my mates brother was a right prick so i said to the guy grabbing me 'STOKE!' he said 'nice one' and let me go. true story!

Despite my dad being a Stoke fan, I started life as liverpool fan - we lived in Yorkshire and as Stoke weren't local I just choose a top div team and liverpool seemed as good as any.
As a treat my dad took me to a league cup game at Anfield vs Stoke and then again to the replay at the Victoria Ground. I had been to see Stoke before (and counted them as my 2nd team) but that game that changed everything. Even though Liverpool won, it was the Stoke fans that seemed on top of the world having stood up to the mighty reds and only just lost following a great performance.
I learnt a lot about what supporting a team meant that day and when my mum and dad offered to buy me a football shirt it was a Stoke one I asked for.

Born and Bred in Stoke and eventually persuaded my Dingle-supporting Dad to take me to see my "local" team. That was 1982 vs Swansea City when we won 4-1. My Dad was sufficiently impressed to shell out for the next game......the unbelievable Stoke vs Luton 4-4 draw. I was hooked from that moment on. It still remains the best game I've ever attended.

I was 6, so my first game was in 1990...
Im not sure who it was against, i just have it in good word from my step dad that it was then...
It was coming up to christmas & my mum was asking 'what i want from Santa?' so i replied 'A red strip!'
Upon that, she bought me the Liverpool Strip with Candy as their sponsor.... i had to wear it for at least xmas day.... then told her i didnt want it. In return i had a Stoke shirt, which was my pride... wore it 7 days a week.
Im Born & Bred.....
& NOTHING will ever change that...

my dad used to take me to stoke, but then when my parents got divorced about 7, he then staretd to follow rugby ande didnt take me much and with my mum being a man utd fan i started to follow them until one of me mates got a season ticket for under 11 when he was about 12 down the brit, so the year after i got one with him and have stayed with the potters since
