Not really, he’d come pretty cheap for a team in the championship. A million? Bit more perhaps. He’s got the stats, and a player who can control a football in the final third and actually shoots could be worth his weight. 15 to 20 goals is well below par for him but way above par for us. We need to give these goal scorers a chance Lawrence Shankland is another who surely someone will gamble on? Maybe, I just look at the stats and let’s face it Langstaff would score a hatful in the Scottish prem

Posh left back (cue puns)
Hoever Iversen Moore
Big brute Centre back from Europe
Cundle?? Manager pick who could be the star of the show or not. Could define his career here with that decision.

Don't think it was ever 100% confirmed who we've got in the wild card spots (although it's possibly Jojic, Wes, Burger and Bae with Vidigal, Mmaee, Manhoef and Leris getting the permit the old-fashioned points way?) But presumably we'd have to move one of them on to free up a space. Wes will probably free one up. And may be worth moving Jojic on as well if possible to free up another. The wildcards don’t refresh each year?

We need; 1. A strong leader at centre half. 2. A powerful goalscorer to lead the line.
#2 is more tricky but nearly every team in this division has a leader.

I’ve been against this idea but I’m warming to it a little. He’s scored incredibly well in 3 successive divisions in 3 successive seasons. That’s impressive. With Notts County not going up, it’s possible he won’t cost much either. Still a big gamble though. Not really, he’d come pretty cheap for a team in the championship. A million? Bit more perhaps. He’s got the stats, and a player who can control a football in the final third and actually shoots could be worth his weight. 15 to 20 goals is well below par for him but way above par for us. We need to give these goal scorers a chance Depends how much money we have to spend. Beckford is a good example of someone who scored for fun all the way up to league one but couldn’t break through that ceiling. The Championship is awful but most teams in league one (never mind league two) struggle here because players get far less time etc. However, I am coming around to the idea of it.

How does wildcard work Do we get a new one every summer + any we free up? Or is is flat 4 you need to sell (even in 10 years time) to free up a slot? analyticsfc.co.uk/blog/2023/06/21/introducing-esc-the-new-gbe-guidance-opens-up-recruitment-post-brexit/Looks like it's a max of 4 at any one time. But Bae and Burger's seasons will mean that they no longer have to take up a wild card slot in 24/25 as they're now qualified through getting 15+ points on the checklist due to their Championship appearances. And Wes will go. So that leaves just Jojic. So we could have 3 more slots if 35% of our team minutes have gone to English-qualified players (which may be a bit of a stretch given our lack of English-qualified players?) That reduces to a maximum 3 for 30%, 2 for 25% and 1 for 20%

In seasons gone by we've been pretty high up the list. So we are likely to have three slots. Keen to see who we sign!

I suspect he’ll go for Dan Scarr if anyone from Plymouth.
Id love Miles Leaburn from Charlton. Young, mobile unit, but I expect bigger and better than us will want him. Mad Nath isn’t likely to play ball either.

Yup more Dutchies! McNally, Hoever, Iversen and Cundle all worth considering at least even if loans again Can't see Kompany playing McNally Obviously left back and obviously a striker Would you really go for Cundle? Until he scored the goal last week he'd been absolutely dreadful. He was being rightly destroyed on here. I feel like we've been here before where we get carried away with a game or two and then go and make a bunch of awful signings that don't improve us. Pearson being a fine example along with about 30 others in the past few years.

I think we need to be ruthless. We can't base our recruitment plans on the (excellent) win on Saturday. We'll all be moaning at the end of September recruitment hasn't changed.
Ultimately, over the course of the season, the squad we've got has proven it's not good enough to challenge even for mid table in the Championship.
A squad who, 44 games in, still aren't mathematically safe from the threat of relegation.
I was delighted on Saturday, both at the performance and the points. We were one game off completely starring down the barrell rather than now where a stray shot could get us.
Hoever, Cundle and McNally were superb on Saturday but over the course of the season haven't been good enough.
Wilmot? Laurent? Campbell? Overall not good enough.
I'd hope the starting XI would be something like:
Iverson/Johansson Junior New CB New CB New LB (Stevens as back up) New CM/Thompson/Pearson Burger New CM Junho Manhoef New ST
At least 7 fit and raring to go starters who can all make an impact.

The first team needs: GK Junior/RB CB CB LB DM Burger Manhoef Junho LW ST/Mmaee Schuey isn't really a 4-2-3-1 man though. He'll either play Burger as the DM orchestrator or one of the CMs in a three-man midfield, or as one of two deeper midfielders in a wing back system.

Smodzic Calum O'Hare Hadji Wright Johansen Rotherham goalie Not a chance in some cases there you'd think. A 30 goal striker will be getting attention from bigger clubs and good international debut as well. Fishie did mention that we were after some players that would impress us though. Johansen would be very realistic you'd think.

Seen some good shouts here. I’d love Burrows from posh- but feel he’ll end up elsewhere- possibly one of the relegated prem sides.
Need a striker. I’d take keiffer Moore in a heartbeat and those turning their noses up need to remember where we are. He’s still a handful and effective.
We need someone to lead the line- I’m not talking 20 goals a season but a solid double figures target man.
Compliment bae and million with another behind said target man and things could look bright.
Centre back a HUGE issue. We have to ge that right.
Johansson would be a good signing.
I am sure there remains value abroad- but if so a bit more homework than we did last time.

Could see us holding interest in the above. Although we want experience, there's a blend there at the right ages and more in the mould of what I expect Schumacher would want from his players.
