Maybe I’m just feeling a bit giddy after a great win today, but I’ve got a feeling SJW is going to play a blinder in the summer.

It's crazy how one good performance makes people change their mind on certain players after dozens of horrific performances.
Sorry I dont' want to come across as negative after the result but I am still of the opinion that I would only keep/sign Hoever of the loans.
Iversen would be too expensive regarding wages, Cundle is a League 1 player who has had a couple of good games, McNally has been largely poor all season, Haksabanovic I am not sure what he is.
Here would be my take:
GK: NEW + Bonham + Simkin RB: Junior + NEW (I would take Hoever if a feasible deal could be done) LB: NEW + NEW CB: NEW + NEW + Wilmot + Rose CM: Burger + Baker + Laurent + Pearson CAM: Bae + NEW Wingers: Manhoef + Leris + Vidigal + NEW LW Strikers: NEW + Mmaee + Ennis + Tezgel Utility: Gooch
Release: Stevens, Thompson, Campbell, Wesley, Edwards, Clark Send back: McNally, Iversen, Haksabanovic, Cundle Sell if possible: Johnson, Sparrow - I would also sell Leris and Vidigal if we could bring a couple of good young wingers in. Laurent as well but I doubt the manager agrees. Loan out: Lowe, Jojic, Sidibe

I think they’ll try and get him something of a higher level and probably abroad.

What will be just as interesting will be who goes Absolutely. We'll be very lucky if we can hang on to Burger, Bae, Campbell, even Junior.

Assuming we can get McNally and Stevens back for another year the only desperate gaps in the squad seem to be a keeper and a left back. I’m guessing most of us would be happy with Travers if we can get him back. He got promoted with Bournemouth and didn’t seem to pick up too many haters while he was here… an impressive enough feat in itself in recent years! Burrows from Peterborough might be optimistic. But given he’s racked up several goals and a lot of assists from left back it seems worth enquiring on the off chance nobody more appealing has gone in for him yet. After that, I just hope we go for quality over quantity. We’ve got some players that have at least shown us glimpses of being good players at this level. If I was being greedy a quality centre back, attacking mid (maybe even Cundle after these last two weeks!) and a striker would make such a difference. I just worry we’re going to panic and go on a mad recruiting spree, when I think a little bit of continuity would be far more beneficial to us. Only desperate gaps are keeper and left back?????? Jaysus. We need new strikers, midfielders, centre backs. Backup for tchamadeau, new lbx2, 2 new cb, centre midx1 at least. 2 new wingers Yes, those are the two areas in which we are desperate if McNally and Stevens sign in my opinion. Any other fans can feel free to panic about other areas of the squad if they’d like, but I really hope the club don’t and focus on signing good quality players like the Baes and Burgers of this world, rather than loaning 200 wingers by the end of July again. The reasons why I think we’re not ‘desperate’ in the other areas you mention are: Mmae and Ennis. I’m not going to start setting off fireworks in celebration if those are the 2 competing for the striker role come August, but I’m not going to be sat panicking about it all summer either. Midfielders… we’ve got Baker, Burger, Laurent and Pearson. Unless we are allowed to spend more in the future (either FFP is dropped or we get promoted) then I’m not sure we will ever get much better than those 4 without really dropping on an undiscovered gem. If McNally signs again on loan we’ve got 3 centre backs. All of whom are decent at this level. Do I want Burger filling in as 4th choice? No. But with that option I really don’t see us as ‘desperate’ in that area. Do I want a CB to sign? Yes, of course. I want the current 3 to be battling for the 2nd spot alongside a quality signing though rather than chucking another just okay centre back into the mix. Gooch would probably be one of the best 2nd choice right backs in the league in my opinion. I’ve already mentioned Stevens. Perfectly fine for one more season as left back cover in my opinion, especially if we aim to have an academy player / random young signing building up to be 2nd choice for 2025-26. And if one of Gooch, Junior or Lleris (or academy/ random young signing) have to fill in every now and again next season they because Stevens is injured at exactly the same time as the new first choice left back, then I’m not going to be that upset if I’m completely honest. Wingers…. We’ve got Bae and Mahoef as first choice now. We aren’t getting better than that with our non parachute payment budget in my opinion. Vidigal and Lleris as cover is hardly something I find terrifying. Frankly signing wingers like they were going out of fashion this year has been one of our biggest problems this season. If we sign more than one, I’d actually be a little concerned. Those are my reasons for hoping the club don’t see this as some massive reset needed moment, and instead aim to get 5 or 6 quality players rather than shooting cash out of a machine gun like the last two windows seemed at times. In fact I doubt I’m that far off what most people are advocating anyway? Does anyone really want 10 plus new players?

I even think Bae might have slipped under the radar as his stats don't look that good and we haven't had a lot of publicity. Same for Burger and to be honest the way Thompson played today if we get an offer we'll over what we paid for him I'd let him go. My main wish with our current squad is that we can get Hoever to sign permanently. He really does seem to care for the club.

A new back four, another winger, a couple of midfielders, a keeper and at least one striker.
We're down the bottom for a reason.

Anyone under the age of 28 who is fit and raring to go and wants to play for the club.
Steer clear of any geriatrics looking for a last pay cheque, along with their greasy agents.

I’d love Morgan Whittaker but I think he’ll go to whoever drops from the Prem, Finn Azaz as well but it’s a bit of a sideways move from Boro.
