I think they are all absolutely spot on re: Laurant, good point about him being influential in the dressing room, hence why he's still captain, because would be very toxic if it were taken off him mid season. It shows how influential he is. We’re in a relegation battle. I’ve said it before having a half arsed captain sets the example for the rest of the team.

I was asked a question and gave my honest answer. Not one person on this or any other social media platform will be 100% pro any player every game. People may not have liked what I said, (they have omitted the fact that I said that Josh is clearly a popular figure around the club for example.)
I hope that he has the game of his life on Saturday along with all the other Stoke players.
If anyone feels that my comments are wrong so be it.
I'll be 100% behind the team on Saturday and unlike some whatever the result will not stand booing the players off the pitch if the unthinkable happens and we lose.

Think I'm in the minority of one who thinks Laurent is a decent player for us, but he has his limitations, typically anything more "intricate" or technical.
It must be tough to receive criticism from people you don't know, but hopefully this is used in the right way to get him to prove he's decent.
As for Angela, all she's done is give her opinion, so not sure this thread even needs the title it has?

What's so bad about it?
He's an average-lower half Championship midfielder (with potential) who finds himself in the unbelievable position as captain.
He encapsulates everything we are almost perfectly:
Fragile Inconsistent Underperforming No heart

No issues with you expressing your opinion. And it’s a widely held one I think. But I do think it’s not really beneficial to the immediate aim which is get three points against Plymouth anyway and anyhow. There’s plenty of time if we avoid relegation to address the shortcomings of players and management. Right now we need to do everything we can to create some unity ahead of a huge game. And to be clear I don’t doubt you want the exact same outcome on Saturday as any Stoke supporter. I guess I just feel the comments could have been better timed.

I don't think the title of this thread is helpful, constructive or representative. Its unnecessarily sensationalist.
Nothing wrong with Ange's opinions and even if they are interpreted by the player as being critical (that is if he's bothered of course) then maybe it should give him the kick up the arse he needs. Stroking their egos is definitely not the answer.

Who is "Mark" who said he can't stand him and scathes him? Gouranga. Think you need to have a re-listen Albert before naming and quoting incorrect people & attributing comments to them that they haven't made! I'm Mark, & I certainly didn't say I can't stand him. If you think I scathed him, so be it. I simply made the point that JL has cost us goals lately, are you disagreeing with this fact?! & the initial conversation was brought about as a stat from the game v Sheff Weds stated that JL lost 11 challenges during the match which isn't great and definitely worthy of talking about, especially as a captain is supposed to lead by example! But matters not, I actually balanced things up by commenting & praising him on how his header off the line won us a point, something Sohail came on board with and tied in with Schumachers after match interview comments. Regardless off whether someone's opinion is pro or against a certain player matters not really, footballs all about opinion!

Why doesn’t having a shirker for a captain need highlighting? It doesn't need highlighting before a massive game, as clickbait by a local radio station. It needs addressing. Of course it does. But this is all wrong on the eve of a huge game. Or, perhaps the git will think “I’ll show you” and actually play to the standard he is capable of? Wouldn’t it be nice if, in a profession that is well understood to have critics, players developed a backbone and a sense of pride?

At this point in time - totally out of order Twig brained woman should be sacked from Radio Stoke and banned by the club ! What a nasty, ignorant post this is. Why should she be sacked or banned by the club? All she's done is state what the vast majority of sensible Stoke fans have witnessed week in week out. He's not been good enough and there has been nothing in his career to suggest he can take the club to the next level. He's a decent league one midfielder (there's no shame in that) and I fully expect him to return to league one next season - Hopefully not with us.

Just listened to the podcast. They were shown some stats and asked for their opinion. They gave it. I honestly don't see what the issue is. Ange was honest and balanced I thought. The others were honest but slightly less balanced but it's a podcast. Fans give their opinions, sometimes unfiltered. As for it being unhelpful 2d before a big game. I don't think so. The players and management have bigger things to focus on. Mountains, molehills, storms and teacups spring to mind.

I get the anger, I get the post from whoever was ill timed. I get that fans are unhappy with that. The problem for me is not the anger, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but why is my name used in the title of this thread? That in itself is inflammatory in my opinion. It's almost as if no one has monitored the thread nor considered what other comments were made when answering the same question?
I hope Josh plays out of his skin at the weekend and if he wants to celebrate in front of me, great. I want us to win. I always want us to win.
People can criticise me for expressing an honest opinion when asked a question, take it out of context, whatever, but referring to my age, sex and family is a little low, and sadly seems to be the norm for some.
I suggest people might listen to my words and if you disagree, fine, but posting Ill informed comments (at best) based on what someone THINKS that I said might be questionable, maybe worse.
Surely I shouldn't be held responsible for someone's ill timed clickbait or have other peoples words attributed to me?
Finally for the ill educated who have suggested that I'm a Vale fan, wow!

Ange, you've literally not got to explain yourself. I'd hazard a guess that well over 95% of Stoke fans agree with everything you've said. Your voice is the fan's voice. Sod the timing, if the captain can't handle a bit of mild criticism due to us being in one of the most dire, humiliating positions the club has ever been in, before what should be the biggest game of their life, then they are in the wrong job.
