The win was not thanks to him Tactically they were superior The manager deserves no credit for today’s 3 points from an unwatchable match The player he wanted and got in the January window Cundle was utterly useless - as he has been in all his appearances so far So by chance we got three points despite of the manager and his poor tactical choices and utterly shite substitutions and not thanks to him Ooooh shut up n go fishing somewhere else

Everyone seems to forget, after winning last night’s match, that we had just lost 4 games on the trot !! Perhaps I’m a bit harsh and not as magnanimous as others Sure, but we were unbeated in 7 before those 4, so it's a glass half full/half empty situation Thats correct, I wonder when he realised that all he had to do was drop Jonas Wilmot?

Look at that same form table prior to the QPR game and we were 20th, it was an important win but we need to back that up with more points. We have some tough games coming up - all of the teams we will play up to end of March are above us on the previous form table, and only Cardiff (1 point) and Boro (goal difference) are below us on the form table after last night. We could do with 4 points from our next 3 games (Coventry, Cardiff, Boro) as I don’t expect much against Leeds/Norwich/Hull next month, and Preston away is tough too.

Definitely true - but it does show much of the bottom half of the league is in a rolling state of discontent and near-crisis as they plod along at a point-a-game or just over. You can easily fall into the trap of thinking it's just us. And a win can move you up 7 or 8 places in the form table at any point. We certainly aren't safe yet, but hopefully we've steadied the ship a bit, now that sense of crisis has cooled a bit. Things were rolling along fine before the second half at Sunderland, and that was less than 3 weeks ago. We are playing one of the few genuinely good teams in the league at the weekend though.

Yep you get so wound up with your own team and looking down the table that you lose sight of what’s happening to the 5/6 teams above. Millwall are deep in it again, Swansea as well. Similar to us they must have been putting together tiny sequences of results which pull you up the table, then back to shit and dragged back into it as another team down their has their moment.

Thats what the championship is full of poor teams none are consistent win 3 you go up 8 places lose 3 you plummeted thats why over a season you have to be more consistent than 3 other teams to stay up.

Oh come on! You're worse than an alleged impartial ref! We win, and he had nothing to do with it, but we lose and it's fire the manager? One chance created from open play in 100 minutes of football characterized by wayward passes and an entire second half in which we hardly had a sniff of the ball. Yes we got a goal from a corner after some 7 hours of goalless football ( from our rnd, as our opponents were scoring for fun) on home turf and suddenly Schumacher is the messiah!! Where did I say Messiah? You said they were better than us. They were not. We had 5 shots on goal and scored 1 (believe it or not, even goals scored from set pieces count). They had 1 shot in 100 minutes and scored none, not even from a set piece.

He really needed that tonight, nothing less in my opinion, we won't get much Saturday I feel, Coventry are a well sorted side, a draw would be decent result for us, pleased for him though. That’s a rational and realistic viewpoint bud, it’ll probably be a loss but I’m hoping for the same grit and determination we saw last night. That kind of performance is what we have lacked and it’s what is needed to survive.

First home goal in over 7 hours in the league … Now that reads very much like a heavy bill of indictment and yet there are some here who would portray Schumacher like a messiah just because we managed to scrape a 1-0 win over third-from-bottom in an unwatchable game characterized by wayward passes and just one chance created from by us from open play First home goals in 7 hours you say, but you don’t mention the clean sheet, if you don’t concede, then you don’t lose, sometimes in certain games you have to change your principles, we looked a lot more solid, and after getting the goal, let them have more of the ball, hoping to catch them on the break, as so many teams have done to us this season, after getting the first goal Until recently our defence hasn’t been the overriding issue, it has been our lack of goals, and to not score at the now defunct bearpit for over 7 hours is a huge problem

Burger’s shot which was brilliantly saved by Begovic. The rest, as I recall, all came from corners Yes I’m sure that you all support Stoke since you were little kids But you are probably locals from the area I am from Malta (hence Malteser) where 50% of the population support either Man Utd or Liverpool, the other 50% support Italian teams, and 15 persons support Stoke City (our population at the moment is circa 600,000)

Their manager got interviewed after the game and said QPR didn’t cope with Stoke change in tactics. And what did you expect him to say ? Not that we'd changed our tactics and set up in a different way from how he'd expected if we hadn't! Just that it had been a poor performance from his team or Stoke hadn't deserved it.

What exactly gets a person from Malta 🇲🇹 to support Stoke. Fair play sticking with us cos we've been gash for years now. The good times are just around the corner though. Schumacher will take us there 😉 😜

I don’t think anyone has said he’s the messiah. But nor is he a very naughty boy. Yes a good number of posters stated their conviction yesterday that he’s the one to take us forward after scraping a 1-0 win against a bottom three side after losing the last 4 games on the trot conceding 13 goals and scoring just 3 Bit of a leap to say they’re suggesting he’s the messiah.
