Did he really have a good game? He's an attacking midfielder and here are his stats from today: 0 shots 0 key passes 0 dribbles 1 foul for 3 dispossessions by a Coventry player 2 tackles 1 interception 1 Blocked Shot 2 Fouls against There we go, he made two tackles so the Stokies love him. Seriously, seriously shite performance. A complete non entity of a player. My mind was made up about him today, he is shit. I've given him the time to convince me otherwise but he just adds nothing, and if anything, we've been worse since he joined us and became virtually undroppable. Schumacher dropped a bollock during the transfer window, in my opinion, it wasn't just the 'transfer team'' (who I assume he guides ) He brought in a midfielder who we absolutely didn't need and failed to prioritise more important positions I.e. a functional lb and a better centre back option. I really can't see why he wanted Cundle so badly at all, The January transfer window was a very badly managed situation.. again! Hard to understand.

You just know we will blow most of the summer budget on signing him.

I'll admit I struggled today to understand what the benefit is of playing him

I can see he's a link up player hence my earlier defence of him in this thread. But he's not the type of player we needed is he? We are in the midst of our worst run in terms of goal scoring in the history of the club because we don't have players who can beat a man, who can turn over possession and counter attack quick. He can't do this stuff. I would drop him for manhoef obviously. Restore Ennis, put Campbell on the left. Cundle should be competing with baker, bae, Laurent for one spot. We didn't need another player there

Laurent Cundle bae burger Pearson Thompson Johnson sidibe baker makes NINE midfielders . Cundle smacks of some sort of player power . Going back to when Clough went to Leeds . Bought Derby players Ohare and McGovern . I can trust you lot but I know my old players I can . All managers do it . We’ve had AN bring in all his Preston mates Johnson Pearson Gallagher and then Gooch plus Iversen was an AN pick . Mowbray has taken Pritchard . The list is endless if you spent an hour just going through teams . But the Cundle one is bizarre given the options in that area . And what do the other players think ? They must be pissed off . It’s a crazy world Stoke City . Coates just sits back and lets everyone else run the club . Doesn’t seem to intervene and say sorry no . After imbula Bauer wimmer Berahino Jese Afellay ( remember him on the train alone naughty step ? ) you’d have thought we would take extra care with another foreign influx .

Cundle just looks like a similar version to Bae. Only at least with Bae, you get a player who wants to run with the ball.

He’s tidy on the ball & looks busy, the problem is he offers zero goal threat or creativity.
He was a waste of a loan, should’ve used the loan slot on a winger. The squad is desperate for some pace & creativity.

Such a frustrating player.
I know that he is a young lad, but we are in a relegation scrapand we need midfielders who are willing to get on the ball and make things happen.
He goes missing for big chunks of the game.

Berahino was a British citizen long before he joined Stoke. He was not foreign.

Gosh how amazing we all see different players and matches. My lad and I both thought Thompson or Cundle were the best players. Cundle was never still, always making runs and available for a pass, yet endless times we never looked up and found him. He always looked to move forwards or pass forward, which by & large none of the other midfielders did first half. I think with the right players around him, we have a good player on our hands.

Yesterday was the first time I noticed him seeming to do useful stuff. He does seem suited to pass and move. Looks tidy and did track back and get stuck in a bit but still lightweight and not that effective. He could turn out great but we needed a defender and we unbalanced the midfield instead, sigh.

None of the attackers are very effective. None seem to have the composure or nouse for the final ball to create a clear cut chance.

Ridiculous signing given we desperately needed a left back and centre back. But this is stoke’s recruitment team, smoke and mirrors making out they’re some sort of data analysts with a secret formula to signing players.
Completely forgetting what we bloody need and whether or not the player has any character.
So rather than resolve the issues we get a ‘one for the future’ ‘he’d be better in a better team’ Cundle. Not a time for inexperienced midfielders or managers!!
Fuming with this shit show of a board
