Despite having a better game against QPR I hope none of the Wolves loanees will be here last season! A left back and a central defender need to be very high on the wish list too! When Campbell leaves we need another winger with real pace as well. I hope we won't keep any of the loanees except Iversen by the way, which would give us a big opportunity to add some quality on loan at least.

We'll slag him off, drag him down, like we have done with others, it's what we do, Smallbone used to get a lot of stick on here. How is he doing? Jack Clark, Doughty, depressing to recall the many more. It's always been that way. Smallbone was largely shit for us. What he's doing now is irrelevant. Same with Clarke and Doughty (what little we saw of him). There will be many reasons that all these players failed at Stoke but what a bunch of cranks on a low-traffic internet messageboard think is definitely not one of them. It’s also always the case. Players are always shite in the first few loans. It takes them time to settle. It’s why we shouldn’t bother with the loan market,

Don't understand managers logic in resting other, more effective, players ... but always picking Cundle. Cries of teachers pet.

Thought him Baker and laurent all had good game today. Lowe let us down upfront and playing junior in midfield was a shocking decision. Gooch should have been pulled off at half time. About time the manager sorted his problems with ry and vidi as lowe is not good enough to be our reserve striker behind ennis.

All gone downhill since he’s got in the team.
Again offered nothing today.

I didn’t think Baker Laurent or Cundle had bad games either but also don’t think Lowe let us down up front. First half especially we had absolutely no width massively limiting our options on how to attack and who to pass to. I thought Lowe battled well but was too isolated on his own. I’d like to see him up front in a 2 with Ennis.

Cundle defensive master class of running just close enough that he’s made an effort but not close enough he has to tackle.
The guys as physical as a wet noodle.

He’s really going to die on this hill isn’t he? The epitome of a nothing player. Every manager does it and I have no idea why. Is there a tidy player there? Yes… does he have the physicality or application, not even close. I may switch off at games while chatting to those around me but I genuinely can’t think of anything he’s contributed yet.

Absolutely, he needs to accept that 'non negotiables' are all very well but when they're strongly in danger of relegating your team you simply have to think smart and learn to compromise. Campbell and Mmaee are certainly not goal machines, by any stretch of the imagination, but they are both needed in our current team given it's inability to score goals.

I thought today was his first good game for Stoke.
Head up, looking to pass forward quickly, covered a lot of ground and fought from the start to the end. He played well.

My lad and I were impressed with him, he is always looking to play a positive pass, also makes countless runs into space and never receives it... Thought the midfield after the subs, looked very fluid and slick..

A number of managers have agreed with you in theory, but when you realise you can't bring quality, because it's too expensive or players are unwilling to commit to a full contract, loans become the compromise, the middle ground that you rest upon.

Yeah that’s my view from today as well. I’ve said it a few days ago elsewhere but I think he’d be fine in a team that had other attacking outlets, like he had at Plymouth. The quality of movement ahead of him today was pretty poor.

Thought he had his best game today. A bit more like the player we thought we were getting What did he do? Take a look at the player ratings thread. Most people like me seem to consider he had a good game. Quite a few thought he was MOM But if you don’t like him ……..

Did he really have a good game? He's an attacking midfielder and here are his stats from today:
0 shots 0 key passes 0 dribbles 1 foul for 3 dispossessions by a Coventry player
2 tackles 1 interception 1 Blocked Shot 2 Fouls against
There we go, he made two tackles so the Stokies love him.
Seriously, seriously shite performance. A complete non entity of a player.

It is not so much the inability to score goals it is more the inability to create a clear goal scoring chance. Our passing, crossing and the last ball in the final third show no composure. We need to keep the crosses on the deck as we have no one who has much ability in the air. You can't fault them for lack of effort but you can't make elementary mistakes like Hoever today to gift them a goal. We would not have scored if we had played till nine o'clock.

His stats backup exactly what I see week in week out, runs a lot but makes sure he’s close enough to be seen but far enough way to be involved. Laurent mk2 just a lot weaker.
