1 can’t believe the earlier posts I wont be at the game because I live in Australia, however to to put my comments in perspective. I was at SS fist game against Swnsea, then at Milwall, Watford and Ipswich. Every year I come to watch 4-6 games I get up at 2am every Saturday night to watch Stoke play. I get the feeling by the majority who have responded to this thread they want a bad atmosphere ! I for one want every Stoke supporter to be loud and proud. Everybody is entitled to their view but my view is simple , I love Stoke City to death ! Come on you Potters !!!! I haven't seen any poster say they WANT a bad atmosphere mate. The O.P. asked what we thought it might be. I think the responses reflect people's feelings at the likely scenario if, yet again, we put in a poor home performance and, yet again, we end up losing a crucial home game. I'd like nothing more than a great performance and a three or four goal win, but the chances of that happening, based on games so far this season, are extremely unlikely to say the least.

I'm expecting there to be no atmosphere like most weeks. We will sit there expecting to walk all over QPR. Then when QPR score we will get angry. Then by the time the third goes in it will be nasty/people will leave. There won’t be a single Stoke fan in the ground expecting to walk all over QPR. Why not? We sit in silence expecting to win every other home game.

Stunned silence mostly. As most fans are still processing quite how we've managed to dig ourselves into the current situation that we are in.
Hopefully there's enough support early doors to get the lads into the game. But the key really is the players showing the fight required that will get the support pumping. Big tackles, last gasp defending, covering ground and then most importantly sticking one or 2 in the onion bag.
2-0 Stoke. Come on you Potters.
Pottermouths anthem needs playing in the dressing room 😆

I think the crowd will start off with a few go on stoke's, an oh when the reds and maybe a delilah.
We'll start ok, miss a couple of half chances in the first ten minutes, then the crowd will start to get tetchy, there'll be a few groans at some sideways passes and a pass back to Iversen.
Then, a long ball forwards, clumsy defending, a full back won't track their man who arrives at the back post to slot one in and QPR lead. Then carnage.

Dead pan like it is every week, people prefer sit in silence than get behind the lads now, couple of the draws we've had of late we don't even egg them on to go for a winner anymore

It will be vile which is exactly what we don't need. Whether the players deserve it or not, they need our support.

I am sitting here right now and I feel genuinely nervous about tomorrow.
I think it’s starting to dawn on me how big this game really is.
My MD is a QPR fan and he’s telling me they leak goals in the first ten mins. I said we do the same.
I’m just really hoping we can pull together and get some sort of result.
The Birmingham game hurt as we were all over them and it’s just infuriating.
Come on, I will be singing my heart out regardless !

Hopefully SS puts out a team we can all agree on and they start off at least showing a bit of intensity. That will get most fans behind them to hopefully generate some sort of positive atompshere.
I know we've had many years of hurt recently but the team need the fans more than ever and we need to get behind them and make the atompshere slightly intimidating for QPR.

There won’t be too many there so don’t think it’ll really get hostile as many people will just leave if things get shit.
I expect it to be pretty silent.

If we win..." we are staying up , say we are staying up" ( personally I hate that chant, it's sort of celebrating that we are shit).. If we lose, or draw, " you're not fit to wear the shirt"... And ironically followed by " ooohhh City we love you, we love you City we do......."

I really dont want to think about going behind, I just hope we scrape a result one way or another.......
I would like to think we will behind the team whatever happens, but we all know that wont be the case if things dont go to plan. I just dont think Schuey deserves it.... he needs time and support from everyone to stamp his mark and make it work. We went to the relegation wire during TP's first tenure.... look how that ended-up.
And for those that want to oust our owners, hang your heads in shame. We could not wish for better, regardless of the position we are in.

It's like a cult, pal. People who spout shite like this either can't or just don't want to see that 'The Family' are not capable of running a football club properly in the modern era. They'll still be tugging their forelocks and bleating 'but the 10 years in the prem' when we're playing Boreham Wood in a few short years It's utterly perplexing.

You can say the board are incompetent but you can’t say they haven’t put their money where their mouth is or tried to find solutions.
What the board need is a fan base who value them then but will make critical observations.
The answer isn’t Coates family or no Coates family….
…it’s somewhere in between probably with a competent football man heading that up
That said, oh would be great to have someone who lives 1500 miles away and is never seen who refuses to invest, puts the price up, takes away the away travel and does zero to the ground. That is tempting

That is tempting How can so many people say with absolute certainty that the alternative to the Coates are owners akin to those described above? There's no logic behind it at all. In fact, the only argument that those in favour of persisting with the Coates is to name a worse owner at another club. There's loads and loads of decent owners of football clubs. The bad ones are in the minority (if they weren't then football as we know it would have imploded). Why must the only options be Coates or unscrupulous (probably forren) owner? It's a bonkers view grounded on nothing.

I wouldn't say couldn't wish for better but I don't see how disinterested owners living miles away, loading the club with debt in an effort to get us in to the Premier would be better. That's if we could find anyone who wants to buy us and has money to invest. It's easy to look at the success stories like Brighton, Luton and Brentford, even Plymouth and Ipswich but they started from a much lower point than we are currently.

Why are they the only alternative? For me we're at the stage where the family should own the club but not run it. John needs to step down as chairman or appoint a CEO who then has a sporting director running things. Let the Coates fund but someone else run, someone who knows what they're doing. We can't afford to keep letting John fall for bullshitters like Tricky Ricky.

Why are they the only alternative? Who do you see wanting to buy the club? As I say in our position it's either very rich foreign owners who want to get a Premier club for the money or we have to start somewhere near the bottom of the pile and build patiently. Can you think of an alternative to that. It was interesting last week that the Coates family are the third highest tax payers in the country but also that they are only the third richest owners in the Championship. Rich owners with no interest in the club and area other than financial far out way rich owners who want to ensure the club's future. Some like Chelsea and Man City hang around for a while but look at Chelsea to see what happens when a rich owner who has just thrown money at a club, lumbering them with debt and a huge wage bill and staff, walks away. And they are a London club, not one stuck in the back waters of the Midlands. I would say look at Derby, Blackburn etc if you want to see what rich owners can do to a club like Stoke.
