I wouldn't risk injuries. Baker and Wilmot need game time, the other first teamers I'd put on the bench Not sure who’s meant to need a rest. Get them out there playing with the new approach, they might play themselves into some sort of form.

Get them out there playing with the new approach, they might play themselves into some sort of form. The last couple of games most of the team have looked dead on their feet and in the last game they played half the second half with 10 men. Burger, Bae, McNally, Rose and Mmaee in particular have had very little respite over that period. I agree they need to get fitter to play the way Schumacher wants them to but you don't do that by running them into the ground, you do it gradually via a well thought out training regime over several weeks. The poster is also right in that some players (like Baker and Wilmott) need game time and this is a good opportunity to give them that.

The poster is also right in that some players (like Baker and Wilmott) need game time and this is a good opportunity to give them that. I’d imagine Burger recovers quite quickly and needs to build stamina. Bae despite promising performances needs to add confidence and output. McNally again young quick recovery I’d play Wilmot next to him every time when available so no problem with Rose having a rest, the longer the better. Mmaee needs to find the intensity he played with vs Watford god knows how you achieve that. Vidigal needs to play to try to regain some form and confidence. Haksabanovic needs to play to get fit. I’m looking for pretty much a full strength team, the arguments for them playing are at least as strong as them being rested. Plenty of substitutions to ensure they’re not completely emptying the tank. Let’s not forget or be convinced by 3 vs an imploding Birmingham, this team needs to learn how to score goals together.

Are we only opening up half the Boothen End and round to the the first section of the family stand, that's the only ticket sections available?

Wouldn't surprise me if it's none would still expect their squad players to beat pretty much every Championship side 9 times out of 10 It's pretty much a non event which is sad

I think if memory serves me right, they played pretty much a full team at the same point last year against us?.

Is Leris injured as he hasn’t been on the bench for the last 2 games.

They seem about as underwhelmed by the game as we do
A chance to give a couple of the subs a game. Even with reduced prices it looks like being a poor turnout. 0-3 defeat...move on

Chuck it under the bus. The last thing we need is injuries due to cup action.

This is the FA Cup though - the oldest cup competition in the world, not the EFL Trophy. We're up against Premier League opposition, and if we don't put out a full strength side, we'll get whupped. They are not as strong as when we played them last year, and given our renewed mojo we have every chance of giving them a game.

I’d agree it’s not a priority just another opportunity to get the team functioning. You lose that by playing a weakened team. Time to give them a rest when they’ve learned how to score more than a goal per game.

Agree we need to learn to function better and games do that

I'd play the following, with some subs at HT when we are 2-0 down. Brighton are seriously good, no point hoping for an upset I'm afraid. Not so much resting that's needed though, I think it's very much a chance to give youngsters game time and also give 45-90 to people coming back from injury or who have been sidelined from first XI.
Bonham
McNally Rose Clark (Wilmot)
Johnson Pearson (Sidibe) Baker Leris
Jojic (Bae) Lowe (Tezgel) Haksabanovic
Other subs we might name, maybe use some if there's a chance of winning: Nna N; Hoever; Burger; Mmaee; Wesley
If I was going to the match I might feel differently lol.

Wish they'd just made this fiver a ticket and tried to pack the stadium out. The attendances for these cup games have got so depressing the last few years.

I don’t see much reason to go for a second XI team for this match. January doesn’t have any more midweek matches (expect for a potential Brighton replay.) We have a clear week after this match to prepare for arguably the easiest game of the season we have left to play in Rotherham away. As a poster said above play as close to the first team as possible to play ourselves into even better form.
I’ll never forget the match we played vs York City in the 3rd round in the 2009/2010 season. Going into the match our form was a bit patchy, TP picked a really strong team, despite going a goal behind we came back and won easily and it seemed to lift the mood and I’ve not checked the stats but I’m sure we had a decent run following that win.

Rotherham are very very different to the team we have thrashed twice. They are actually decent now and can get results

Yes to the quarter finals went out at Chelsea beat arsenal and man city (played them 3 times in 10 days) to get there.
