Lost me at ‘apart from scoring goals’ He’s a good player, with limitations. Or he wouldn’t be here Some of the shite we’ve seen recently I’ll take someone else ho only offers goals So how many players have scored 5, 6 including cup games in 18 appearances for Stoke in the last 5 years? If you look at his season stats the number of minutes he has played is in the bottom 50% in the Championship, his goals scored and xG per 90 minutes is in the top 10% and even taking into account his lack of assists he is still in the top 20 for goal involvement. Don’t get blindfolded by XG rubbish. Surely you are too old and wise for that. Look at what’s happening on the pitch. We are 19th, scored the 4th lowest amount of goals in the league! He has zero assists and a couple of goals v the likes of Rotherham and Birmingham. He’s been injured/out for FIVE games. Wake up and see where the current problems lie! We need better, much better to get up the table.

I agree his scoring has dipped but I think that shows a lack of confidence. The chances he's missed he'd have put away in August/September. It's funny that you choose to criticise xG and ignore goals. His goals scored is higher even now than his xG which just proves that we were not creating chances under Neil as I said. It's very difficult to score if you don't get a chance. Fuller and Arnautovic did it for us, probably Walters too, but not many others. It is ironic that you tell me to look at what's happening on the pitch when that is exactly what I am doing with Vidigal and the stats back up what I see. Sitting in the Tile Mountain I get quite a close up view of the wide men. The last match Vidigal played under Neil he was stuck on the left wing and you could count the number of times the ball was passed to him in the first 45 minutes, when he was in front of us, on your thumbs. He was making runs then having to come back because the ball was being played along the back line.

You are taking a very one-sided view of a player's ability. Neither Clarke or Philogene set the world alight for us either. They were either not used correctly or didn't fit MON's system. What were your opinions of Clarke and Philogene when they were with us by the way? Did you think they were gash as well?! I do agree with you though, if we had £1M to spend in the summer we should have been in for someone like Whittaker instead of Jojić or Léris. Definitely dropped a bollock there. However, given the right system to play in and if he mans up a bit as well, Vidigal can become a seriously good player for us in the same way that Clarke and Philogene are now. You just have to accept he's a work in progress. I liked Bidace, he could take his man on and make something happen and he had raw pace. Clarke I thought was too lightweight and I knew that we’d got him too early, I don’t like players that go down so easy as to break the play up etc all the time (like Powell used to) when he reappeared for Sunderland he looked twice the size which has helped him obviously. That’s down to man management within the club. I don’t see how at all my criticism of Vidigal is out of order. His stats are woeful. To play that amount of games as a winger in a front three and have zero assists is pitiful. He’s scored 5 goals and people are talking him up like he’s the best thing we’ve had for years. Over Half of those goals came against two woeful teams in Rotherham and Birmingham. He’s done absolutely nothing. Lightweight, no pace, can’t beat a man, can’t cross, awful passing, can’t head the ball. What the hell is the obsession! I’m being genuine! I want good players for stoke! To be honest, I'm not even sure Vidigal is a proper winger. In that position I actually think Hakšabanović has offered more pace, guile and threat in less than half the minutes Vidigal has had. What Vidigal has over Hakš is his finishing. Vidigal needs to be played more inverted, closer to the front striker rather than be expected to make runs and crosses from out wide. I think Vidigal is the lightweight rough diamond that Clarke was for us. If we can beef Vidigal up over the coming months and the summer, there is no reason why he cannot be as excellent for us as Clarke has been for Sunderland. You get what you pay for, and we have with Vidigal (probably more if you count his goals, albeit against lower opposition). If we can refine Vidigal's potential, we have a hell of a player on our hands. Of course, the here and now matters too. I'm not expecting big things from Vidigal this season apart from seeing gradual improvement in his game. I hope that comes as he gets more used to the league and he improves his body strength.

What I’m saying is he shouldn’t be playing such a big part in our team yet and his/stokes attacking stats are proving why! The worrying thing though is he’s 25, not a young kid that’s new to mens football. Against a lot of the more physical teams in the league (there are a fair few) we may aswell have a subbuteo man on the wing, as Millwall proved to us twice to name one of many.

He’s on track to hit double figures for G/A in his first season, which for 400k as a wide forward is fine.

Jack Clarke is a winger, so is JPB. Vidigal is evidently not a winger. He might play out wide but he’s certainly not employed to put crosses in all game. It’s a good thing too, because before SS came in, we’ve literally had 1 player in the box versus 4 for every cross we’ve placed barring in the last 5 minutes of a game, when we put in two.

In fact if you read Vardy's Wiki biography, he started well at Leicester in the Championship but then had a dramatic loss of form and scored only 4 goals in 26 appearances. Apparently he suffered so much abuse from Leicester fans for this on social media that he considered giving up football but Pearson talked him round and he went on to score 16 the next season. Perhaps the parallels will continue.

You will never find that I insult anyone when having an argument with them. To me insults just show that the person thinks they are losing. What exactly is wrong with comparing Vidigal with Vardy in his first season at Leicester before he became a regular scorer. Vidigal may not follow the same path but at the moment he is - a good start, drop in form (in fact Vardy scored less in his first season than Vidigal has already), own fans criticising his inclusion in the team. Wouldn't it be great if next season Vidigal scored 16 goals to get us promoted and became a star for us in the Premier just like Vardy did? Or would you rather shove him out of the door because he's going through a sticky patch. Leicester should be very grateful to Pearson for seeing beyond Vardy's poor scoring form in his first season. You might not want to dream but please don"t criticise me for hoping.

Considering the difference in physique between the two players, I think that Vidigal is his equal and doesn't get injured as often. Campbell isn't that good in physical challenges. I used to like Campbell and still hope that Shumacher can get something out of him but at the moment, for me, Vidigal, Mmaee and Bae all get in the team ahead of him and are far more up for a battle than Campbell.

No one is ever going to take your opinion seriously by firing insults when someone has a different opinion. As far as Andre Vidigal goes, and any other attacker we’ve signed, they shouldn’t be judged until Schumacher has had a while longer with them. It was pretty impossible for any attacker to flourish in the systems and tactics Alex Neil was serving up.

He reminds me of a lad I used to play football with when I was around 16, he was great at 5 a side when the ball had to be kept on the floor and nipped around but when he played 11 a side he was completely lost. Still had good technique but he couldn’t seem to get the ball off the ground when crossing and didn’t have the strength or stamina. I really hope he can improve under Schumacher as he does have something but I think I’d park him on the bench at the mo and have him come on last 20 when he has his best chance of causing some damage

He has zero assists and a couple of goals v the likes of Rotherham and Birmingham. He’s been injured/out for FIVE games. Wake up and see where the current problems lie! We need better, much better to get up the table. I’m pretty sure we’ve played 26 league games, he’s started 14, played in 18. That’s 8 where he hasn’t featured and 12 where he hasn’t started, not FIVE.

There was also mention of a potential falling out with AN too. I’m happy he’s getting games now. For what he cost too he’s not exactly a big money signing either, I know we need quality and that can cost but sometimes bargain foreign players can come good, maybe the boy needs to adjust to the Championship, but I think he looks an exciting player and if SS gets him moving the ball forward and being positive we’ll see his numbers improve.

I’m pretty sure we’ve played 26 league games, he’s started 14, played in 18. That’s 8 where he hasn’t featured and 12 where he hasn’t started, not FIVE. I said he has been injured for 5. If he was on the bench and not picked that’s his problem. Ah I get you, it was a bit ambiguous saying injured/out, which could be for any reason such as a falling out with the manager.

A bit aggressive on the keyboard you are, aren’t ya bud? Maybe if you’d kicked a ball in your life you’d understand where the majority are coming from. Kicked a ball plenty of times and at a decent level. Come meet me for a pint in Stoke before the game Saturday and I’ll tell you all about it if you are so interested? I bet mate. I’d be more than happy.

Hate seeing him at winger. Can do it, but just feels and oozes wastefulness. See Bae for similar. Quality no doubt on $450k is great business. Nothing on the player being a stop gap from a previous managers inability to get-in wingers. I think he'd be a great forward with Mmaee as a partner, but we don't have anyone close to a wide player to move him up permanently.
