Hey Fish, great to have you back👍. So you aren't aware of any massive changes after the end of the season which some seem to think are coming?. Not that I'm aware of. Just silly rumours with nothing to back them up. He's aware of his potential spends and I think we'll be delighted with some of the players he's looking at. Domestically or internationally?

I think we have seen enough to see what he brings to the table next season, after a summer of restructure. Nobody knows what went on behind the scenes really, with so many rumours flying around. Clearly something did, but since Walters arrived, things have been stabilised. I imagine there will be a fair turnover of the playing staff again, to mould the squad and equip the squad, for his style of play.

There's some names we're not seeing tonight, or won't be seeing until next season (or ever again because it'll mean we're doing well under Schumacher). Imagine being unable to give him even the tiniest bit of credit for today. He isn't perfect, he's made mistakes but he's somehow dragged this mess of a squad to 50 points. Today was absolutely brilliant. Not bad for a bloke who's a coward, out of his depth, looks lost, etc etc. It's one game (albeit a terrific result) but the team surely need to be putting a run of similar results and performances together before people start sanctifying Schumacher. 'Out of his depth'? - Remains to be seen and I would argue he certainly did 'look lost' in some of his post match interviews in recent weeks. However, calling SS a 'coward' is completely out of order but given the post originated from the ultimate keyword warrior on this board, it's no real surprise. Bet he wouldn't call him out like that face to face. That’s exactly what I’ve said. Who’s sanctifying him? Not one poster.

First off.. great win yesterday! On to The Shoe.. regardless of any mistakes he may or may not have made since he arrived the guy clearly needs the summer to enact his vision for the team. His no bullshit approach has been a definite positive and long may that continue. The Club was in a mess when he arrived after years of inertia and that takes time to fix. The fact that he seems to have negated the poisonous 'player power' culture that had set in is also a potential BIG positive. I'm hopeful he and JW can finally set the good ship Stoke City FC sailing on calmer seas on a heading that travels unfalteringly into a brighter future.
*edit plus if he had something to do with Ricky Martin's removal then that's another major positive as far as I'm concerned.

You said he was not the man to save us and we need to bring back you know fuckin who ( yawn ) Are you actually denying it? Of course not. If we had brought back TP we would have been safe weeks ago. Is that what you're after?😊 From what I remember when Tony “kept us up” we were in the exactly the same league position as when he took us over and it was only on the final day of the season that we were safe.

Recent form is actually now looking pretty respectable and we are also approaching home games like a home side should, in the main. Three excellent performances lately against Boro, WBA and Plymouth and some big away wins too. Brainfarts and shit performances are part of football at this level, we just need to see less of them.
If we keep up the level of the last 6 - 8 weeks, then we and he should be absolutely fine and hopefully pushing on towards where we want to be.

He's taken 15 points from the last ten games. Over a season that's 69 points, and yet still uncalled for vitriol.

Wouldn't be too specific obviously but I wonder if it's still the same.

It's easy to guess most of them I would think, starting with Clarke (although hasn't he already gone?), Wes, Johnson, then you could hazard a guess at the rest. I'd go Haks, Campbell if he won't stay and possibly Vidigal if we can get a buyer. I think Thompson will get a new contract as will Stevens probably and obviously I've not included the loanees (although I've just realised I included Haks.

suggestions that certain posters want to see the team fail, which is obviously nonsense. Then how do you explain that certain posters are only on here when we lose or if it's been a few games since winning, and all of them are making "snide remarks" and bullshit about how the club and everyone and the tea lady is shit, repeated ad nauseum? And with the same boring arguments that have been rebutted several times, cherry picking stats, etc.? I'm not saying you are, or that everyone who's critical is wanting the team to fail, but there's definitely a few posters itching to be "right" and shining/gloating when we lose, thus wanting the team to fail.

I said from the moment that he was appointed John Coates had finally made a good choice and nothing has changed my mind. He handled the Mmaee incident in examplary fashion,he has got the team spirit back and I believe he has a huge regard for the club as was evident in the henri video. Exciting times ahead and I can’t wait to see who he brings in during the summer. Coward my arse

The reality is that our club is crying out for positivity and belief.
Call it happy clapping if you want but I think we need to focus on the positive rather than negative.
That’s not denying there are things the manager needs to improve but the fact is that he’s managed to turn around a season that could have been disastrous. He’s got performances out of the players in crucial games and he seems to be learning game by game.
Hopefully we look back at this as the start of something special.

With regard to your comment son what went on i agree and ave made and made no secret of the fact Martin was totally toxic as well a s incompetent and his removal by JC one big catalyst for positive change .In JC SJW and SK we have the making sof a very sound top trio at last . I also believe your relation will be in charge and will be fully backed over the summer to the very best of our ability with both ins and outs and off the pitch we will continue to make huge strides the future looks much brighter .

The removal of Martin will be the turning point I hope.
Simon King is doing a fantastic job RE the infrastructure and supporter connection.
Jon Walters has clearly had a positive impact since taking on his role and is an intelligent guy who, unlike Martin I feel, has proper intrinsic knowledge to help him in his role.
Coates of course provides the admirable cash for which we are all so grateful for, all that holds that family back from opening the account further is the farcical FFP.
And Schumacher is clearly a very good head coach who will get the chance this summer to shape a squad in his style, which if the glimpses we have seen are anything to go by, is an attractive front foot aggressive style that will get us off our seats.
We have the chance of seizing a proper "new dawn" now, it's on the above to deliver it. They have my full backing to do so.

I see the sheff Wednesday manager is being termed the German Tony Pulis
I think Schumacher deserves the summer window a a couple of months into the season to see how things go, but we should have Danny Rohl ready and waiting

Absolutely fantastic win yesterday. Couldn't have asked much more from the players and of course the management.
Let's repeat it two more times and then we've ended the horror season on a positive note.
He'll get next season now. We're going to have to back him. But I implore the man to simply go for it. Stop paying minnows as much respect and simply go for it. This league is shite and the standard matches it. Competitive for it's shite-ness.
And we've got a set of lads that have proven they can play football. Burger, Million and Bae are (as stands) a spine of a team that can dominate anyone. Build on that and there's no reason why we can't push on and on. But that includes making sure these lads have what is required to dominate. Respectfully, lads like Ennis, Leris etc (albeit sound people) shouldn't be anymore than periphery figures next year. Off the bench or covering injuries. Put Burger, Million and Bae in a team with players like Baker, Mmaee etc and they'll shine even more. They need some quality around them.
It's going to be a big summer window. I'm hoping Dublin gets another go.
