Stupid, stupid man.
Seemed like he was going to make a career for himself in football management.
But he’s got the square root of fuck all going on upstairs and comes out with stuff like this. The bloke clearly has talent yet throws it all away.
Oddball. And it seems like it runs in the Barton family.

The guy is a bell end. Many on here agree with his views on women in men's football though................ that's the scary part .. he seems like he just cant help himself responding to stuff then getting into bother and digging a bigger hole if you agree with him its the kind of thing you keep to yourself not belting it out on twitter all day he is a nob theres no reason to think women shouldn't be allowed to attend male football matches tho.. doesn't need to be a competition

www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12835285/Joey-Barton-sexist-posts-social-media-women-mens-game.htmlTBF to Barton, as the article mentioned, Kevin Keegan, also made a similar point and basically they agree with each other. Barton came from a big council estate on Merseyside, where a lot of people basically don't achieve any sort of professional recognition at all in any profession and go onto leave life's centered around drink , drugs and crime . He has worked hard to try and be better than his surroundings and do well for himself and achieved a fair bit in the game. Keegan came from uninspiring, certainly not advantaged circumstances in Doncaster and worked hard to reach the very top of the game. I would be very happy to have a drink with either of them. They are certainly entitled to the opinion and there opinion on football and televised football is more informed than a lot of people. I think it's sad people who live their lives on twitter feel they are not entitled to their opinion. Perhaps it's jealousy ? Maybe they envy the likes of Barton and Keegan for being bold enough, ambitious enough and talented enough to make their mark in the real world, rather than social media. Keegan and Barton are just as entitled to their opinion as people who have the opposite view to them .

And if Kevin Keegan has said whatever Barton said on twitter last night then he too is a prick. And you’ve summed up how stupid Joey Barton actually is. The man was a talented footballer and has an alright record at managerial level. But he’s now unemployable. As I said further up, stupid, stupid man. Also - final remarks - being entitled to an opinion doesn’t make it correct? He can spout whatever shite he wants for all I care, but no doubt it’s what a prick would say.

He's stating what the vast majority are thinking though (regarding women pundits). Old fashioned? maybe but Id put money on Sky Soccer Saturday's viewing figures decreasing since they ceased being old fashioned.

Barton is a scumbag who would be sharing a cell with his racist thug of a brother if he hadn't been good at football. Of course he's entitled to his opinion as people are entitled to challenge him back. It's Barton "living his life on Twitter" like everyone else replying to him...................

Also, where do we draw the line anyway?
Good footballer, yes. But in terms of high level football, the man was average.
If he’s right about women keeping to their own game then that man is consigned to upper Champo, lower Premier League opinion.
And it means all of us lot on here can’t comment on football.
Stupid, violent man with stupid opinions appealing to a stupid crowd.

Old fashioned? maybe but Id put money on Sky Soccer Saturday's viewing figures decreasing since they ceased being old fashioned. Is the issue that women haven't played "elite men's football" so shouldn't be able to comment? Where do you draw the line, should Barton be able to comment on Champions League football as he never played in it, or international football because he played 11 minutes for England and touched the ball 3 times? Should Clive Tyldersley be doing commentary, should Jeff Sterling have been presenting Soccer Saturday?

It’s sexist if we’re being honest.

Do you think grown-up, adult men have stopped watching football because of women pundits? I know grown up, adult men switch over once the punditry kicks in. I'm sure you'll know a few too. But I honestly don’t know any? And the notion that the vast majority hate women’s punditry is pure stupidity. The media companies in this country are hardly the powerhouses of ‘woke’ politics are they? If the vast majority agreed then unfortunately women would indeed be shunned and ignored, and instead we’d have the joy of listening to Joey Barton tell us why Man City aren’t good enough this year to win the title. But obviously that’s not the case. The vast majority of us subscription paying grown-up adults don’t turn over when the punditry comes on.

So it looks like he's happy for ladies to play football but doesn't want any input from women in the men's game and if you are against him he claims you have no genitals. Indeed a nice unexpected treat for a Thursday.
I'll let my mum know that I don't want her talking through the match on Saturday - her opinion isn't valid and it's ruining the game.

She's never experienced the pungent smell of Ralgex in the dressing room just before heading on to the pitch for a relegation six pointer in front of 30,000 fans mate. So she needs to keep her opinions to herself unfortunately..............

If anyone wants to understand Barton more, listen to his podcast with James England that came out last week.
It’s 4 and a half hours long, but it’s an interesting listen.
I don’t agree with most of what he says on there.

I’d honestly hoped he’d turned a corner with his coaching career, he’d developed the likes of Souttar and Elliott Anderson well and was hoping he’d basically be more use in football than outside of it. Then he does stupid shit like this. He can’t help but self sabotage.
