He was our joint most successful manager ever/ second to Waddo but fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion…so what are you currently buying into now then?

Is it? A large section of our fans could never stand the bloke but to you who loved him he’s suddenly become the identity of the club. I’m afraid that’s what happens when such a decisive character becomes your identity, many will just refuse to buy into it. Pulis being decisive is exactly why he was so successful. Him and Waddington are our best 2 managers ever. Fact 😆 🤣 He wasn’t so successful in any stretch of the imagination apart from in the minds of some of our supporters. He wasn’t well liked in the game in general and the fans of most clubs he’s ever been at hate his guts. He never won a single thing, not one. Yet a lot of you people revere him like he was a serial winner.

And you can't deny that unless you want to lie. Cant comment on whether i like him as a person as i never met the man.

I didn’t like Pulis and didn’t enjoy his idea of football. I think we got promoted in spite of him but probably stayed there the first couple of seasons almost solely because of him. I think that was the highlight of the job he did. 90% of games under him were utterly dreadful. I think it takes a certain type of masochist or football hater to look at his career kindly.

Very genuine & a real love for Stoke City, Stoke On Trent and the people of the area.

Obviously some of them suffer from Stockholm Syndrome.

Never heard of him, but the next appointment will be a younger head coach I’d wager. No point in getting rid of Mowbray if that’s not the case.

Sunderland continue to get things spot on.
Steve Cooper, the Plymouth manager (who?), and whoever else Stoke fans are calling for are probably nowhere on Sunderland’s list. In fact some people are calling for the sacked ‘steady hand’ Mowbray. 🤣
They’ve sacked a manager that is doing much better than Neil on the basis that mediocrity is not acceptable. And now they’re looking for a progressive manager - and the fella above looks the real deal - to take them up another league.
Dublin got the summer spot on. Tell him what sort of player you want and he no doubt finds one from the deepest, darkest corners of Europe. Is it risky? Somewhat, but what’s the alternative? The steady hands we’ve appointed recently have produced turgid dog shite that has somehow managed to take us further back, year on year. We need to be progressive with the manager. Take a punt.

I think it's right in this day and age that a manager can appear fit and young to at least match what he/she expects from their workforce. Beer-belly suit wearers are something we'd consider.

It's not the stoke on trent way though is it. It's hardly surprising the owners are the same as a lot of the fans. Scared of anything new and progressive. We like to stick to what we know round these here parts

I’m in the north east this week & had a chat with a Sunderland fan in the pub last night… he seems to think that Mowbray went in stating that he needed a striker & that lead to the owner kicking off/ sacking of him.
It’s a strange one for me as he built a young, Attractive footballing side there. I would much prefer to have him down at Stoke over AN but that doesn’t say a lot as I’d pretty much take anyone over him at this present time.
Could come back to bite Sunderland though.

Mowbray gets a lot of stick on here and to a degree its understandable given some of the ridiculous comments he has come out with, not just at West Brom, when he was at Blackburn aswell.
By all accounts however, in real life hes a really decent fella. I know a bloke who works for Blackburn who coukdnt speak highly enough of him.
Also hes had some bad shit to deal with in his life.
Woukdnt be my choice for Stoke manager but think some of the abuse he gets is probably a bit unwarranted
