Can we have Alex Neil…as a volunteer to have his head slapped? In all seriousness, this one surprises me - but we’ve been very lacklustre for a while now. We just give it to Clarke and hope for the best. Owners would have spotted that we’re not defensively solid and we’re not threatening going forward. Either go now or leave end of season. We’ve went with the former but I’d have preferred the latter. Oh well, cheers Tony. Played some decent football but I was getting sick of his moaning demeanour. According to the old xg stuff, you've got the 3rd best and 5th best xg against. So don't know what that makes us! I don’t know how that’s possible. We don’t usually shoot and look to walk it in. We’ve had quite a few penalties this season, and had 2 games where we obliterated the opposition with loads of clear cut scoring chances (Southampton home and Sheff Wed away) - so maybe that’s it. Defensively is a big shock, every set piece we look very vulnerable and we don’t have the quickest of defenders so can get caught out by pace. I don’t understand the XG stuff though.

Maybe they want AN back and he’s let them know how much he regrets leaving. If only

Who would be your choice to replace him?? No clue at all tbf, I didn’t want Mowbray at all when we first got him and he surprised me overall. So I’ll just let the club pick. Saying that, Guardiola.

Don't think he really is in that sense though, is he? In the kind of Pulis, Big Sam way Good football. Not against youth or overseas players and took over a group of players and got them in the play-offs He comes across as yet another British manager on the trudge circuit of British managers. Jobbing around a good few league clubs without too much stand-out success. Our next manager I'm hoping is a bit of new broom. Or a completely new broom. I can live in hope.

We need a manager who'll enthuse and it's not him Even if he is probably unfairly maligned by our fans after our run ins with him. He's a bit of an idealist who plays good football and there are worse things. Miserable sod though I'd take him over Neil if I could click my fingers tonight , but that's a low bar

What are the odds? AN back to blunderland. Mowbray to us. I’ve seen stranger things. How many seasons have you watched? 😁

Does the sacking of Mowbray and Duff from Swansea put any additional pressure on JC/AN?

Club brought him in as as "steady hand" when Neil joined you lot. The remit was to keep us up and he massively overachieved in the face of a lot of adversity. The club planned to replace him with Faroli (now manager of Nice) but us fans reacted badly when the news was leaked and they kept him for this season. The feeling was that the hierarchy were waiting for a reason to sack him and the current run of poor form has seen them pull the trigger. He broke ranks after the Millwall game and subtly criticised the club's recruitment strategy. When it comes down to Head Coach v Sporting Director there is only one winner. I'm sad at the news, but ultimately it was never going to be a long term appointment. If someone had offered me odds that Neil would last longer at Stoke than Mowbray did with us I would have thought you were off your head.... oh well. On to the next one

So you'd take Mowbray over Neil - what drugs are some of you on? Under Mowbray, I've seen us play the best, most attractive and attacking football in my lifetime.

I'd take a current run of form that sees my team 9th and 3 points off the playoffs right now. But I really don't want Mowbray. It wouldn't work with our players we have. Sounds like it was down the criticism you mention, and that's never a great route to go.

Would you take Mowbray at Stoke? Woukdnt be my first choice but woukd rather have him than Neil Think we are out of his commutable range though He has managed WBA & Coventry so he has travelled for work beyond Stoke, not that I'm in anyway advocating him coming Stoke however 🫣😬

Alex Neil has been piss poor but I wouldn't swap him for Tony Moanbray, not a chance.
If we're going to get rid of Neil it needs to be someone better than Mowbray.
