Great time to sack a manager where we sit in the table though. Given our track record of managerial appointments you'd have to be daft to twist now I fully expect Coates to keep him on at least until the end of the season and rightly so as he would have learned from sacking Hughes at a daft time. Many want to repeat that idiotic move and we could end up in division 3 if it goes tits up. Its all fun and games picking new managers until you pick one and go down.
Afraid it'll have to be sucked up buttercups, I'll piss myself if we start winning games and fly up the table. Oh the fun I'll have on here haha

Another window to come yet I think you are in the minority. Even with the window, good goal scorers are at a premium unless you just take a punt on a lower league player like Leicester did with Vardy. I really would like to think you are correct.

AN has had nearly 1.5 of those years and its actually got worse. I don't dislike the man and I'm sure he's a nice fella and has friends and family who love him. That said he's failed and needs to be moved on. The chances of him "turning it around" get exponentially woss every week.

The problem with Hughes sacking wasn’t the timing it was sacking him before they’d secured his replacement. Bringing in a new manager now would allow him a fair crack at the January window. Maybe they’ll do the same again and bring in someone to actively ensure we score even less goals than we did under his predecessor to secure our relegation.

Somebody like Asante will make a big difference to us, I never really thought he was all that and if I'm honest didn't know a great deal about him, thought he was just a stocking filler than I saw him come on as a sub this season watching a live game and he really did impress me, a real live wire.

However, a quality manager can make all the difference, especially with the underperforming squad we have.

It would certainly make a difference seeing one of our forwards giving opposition defenders a rough ride rather than them giving our forwards a rough ride.

Given Neil has been the whipping man for last seasons excuse of a squad after the board made yet another horrendous decision of letting O Neil see through a transfer window and then sack him early season so the new man has to play and win over the fans with that abortion of a squad, I do genuinely believe any new appointment will be made at the end of the season so a new man gets a full summer with the players and starts on an even footing. We don't just make bad managerial appointments, we make them at the most stupid times in times gone by. As long as we're not going down I fully expect Neil to see the season out at least so the next man doesn't start next season with little to no patience from the fans like Neil has this season

Come on Coates, make it a hat trick in one night. Mobray, Duff and Neil. The first two have been in post less time than Neil so no embarassment there. Just don't look at either of them as the Neil replacement

We've had to gamble on foreign markets because we needed 18 new players, the fact we needed 18 new players is pretty telling. Some of these players are clearly struggling with the nature of English football. You know the bigger picture in what we've done here to a successful manager is embarrassing. It's amateurish by the club. 1) bringing him in right early doors after the manager who built the crap squad was fired meaning Neil didn't even have a preseason . 2) needing 18 new players in summer and still didn't even get the benefit of a preseason, this time around either We bring in a whole boat load of foreign players because we need to find value because of the scale of the rebuild, they've never set foot in the country before but are chucked together without the benefit of a preseason. The fans instantly on his back expecting instant results. If he does walk away at the end of the season I do wish him the best of luck and back onto the promotion band wagon that he's proven in . You're on a hiding to nothing managing scfc
