It's not unheard of or beyond the realms of possibility that a club/team will get their act together in the second half of the season. I think this sacking business is overated as I've stated many times, let somebody build something. A new man comes in and and we've ot a whole bunch of surplus players again, that's what I'm sick of, this never ending revolving door of players and promises that this next time 'after' we've managed to offload players well be in good shape, it never ends, it never arrives because we're always swapping managers, clearing the decs and rebuilding, it's a joke. We should change the club anthem to that song with the lyrics " we can rip it up and start again, rip up and start again". Neil has said multiple times that what has been done has been done on solid grounds. That says to.me we can approach future windows competitively. We're in the very early stages of a massive revamp. How I see it is this manager knows now what is lacking. We've brought in 18, the dust has settled and now its time to build upon it with some good solid signings that will make a difference. There is no doubt that in his eyes a good few of those 18 players won't have made the grade, that's normal, nobody gets 18 new players bang on in one window, we sort the wheat from the chaff now and start to tweak. This manager has stood on the touchline for the first half of the season now, he knows who does and doesn't cut it, he knows who the successful candidates are in playing staff to move forward and who needs to move on, he knows whats needed to improve. Bring in a new man and it's back to square one, 'again', and then people wonder why we're not ripping it up. The answer is in your previous actions. It can't be denied he knows what a successful team looks like. Me personally I'd rather sit it out in the short term for the long term greater good than go through the whole rigmarole of swapping managers and clearing the decks, 'again'. Quick fixes very rarely turn into long term solutions, especially at this football club. Stoke have been like an awkward turd that just won't flush, sooner or later you're going to have to get dirty to fix it instead of using someone elses bog as a short term fix. It's just got to be though, I think people need him out now as to not look a berk if he turns it around, it's become personal, can't be seen being a clueless muppet on the oatcake, it damages the 'street cred', and 'street cred' on here means a whole lot more than a successful team. The last thing you want is a pro 'stick' poster or two ramming it down your throat when the corner is turned., that'll send your cred into unmanageable arrears, haha I’m pretty certain you’re a Neal fan and not a Stoke fan. As has already been pointed out you’ve now changed your mantra from when to if. You cannot deny his incumbency has pretty much been a disaster. And before you go on other managers have gone into clubs and turned them around and others built new teams You keep ignoring the fact that he bought half a team in last January and we were worse. It’s already been pointed out to you that there’s a “boat load” of players that were based in these shores. The injuries excuse has gone and we now sit just outside the relegation. Any Stoke fan would have to be worried by this as there’s ZERO evidence that he can turn it around. If he stays he has to or it’s relegation based on current form. If we are still in this position (or worse) come Xmas then the board will have a decision to make. Read one line of that, not giving you the time of day for the rest, ridiculous suggestion.

I actually agree with a lot of what you say there. It would be great to allow somebody the time and space to build something, but we also need to be sure that it is the right person who is trying to build it. My main gripe with AN is that after a year and a half(ish) I still have no idea what he is trying to build. We have no identity, no style of play, and we seemingly limp from game to game without any real improvement. In short, there is no sign of progress or any sight of what we are actually trying to create. Fans will be more patient of they could see a plan coming together or could make out some method in the madness. Ultimately, AN's record here so far has been really, really poor. If he is going to turn this round, then this mad run of fixtures around Christmas and New Year is going to have to be where it happens. Neil's preferred football is a high energy pressing game, I do think we've seen signs of that but we are a couple of key players in key areas away from making it a consistent and effective reality. He likes his full backs to get forward and sling crosses in, I do think we see that too, although I think Hoevers contributions so far have been average on a his good days. The CF situation is a really biggy, so is LB, they need filling adequately with the right person, hopefully we can do that in Jan. I do also think Mmaee is struggling with the intensity we want to play at and Vidigal is struggling with the physicality of English football. Wesley is Wesley isnt he, good for a certain thing and a certain thing only. Given Campbell has been injured we've been using a pretty ineffective forward line I must admit. We need a forward or two in Jan for definate So in short mate he made a complete mess of the summer window and didn't buy players for the style of football he wants the team to play.

Not that short but maybe a bit longer haha. No, we definitely missed out on a few in key areas didn't we that chose other options. We've seen this high energy, high press plenty of times this season and i dont think anyone will disagree its good to watch when its played at that tempo but I do think a few of the foreign lads are struggling with the intensity of the English game. Yes we do lack a striker, the right type which will make a big difference that's why he had a hard on for Ross Stewart. We need a Younger LB with a good engine definatley. Luckily it's January in less than a month and not a month too soon. I do think now we've got in the bulk, individual signings moving forward will be improved upon and we can go into a lot more depth on them, summer was about value for the numbers that had to come in. I fully expect us to make more better educated singular signings now offering more individual or proven in this country quality. We are definatley not the finished article yet and it's a bit daft to expect to be in one window. It isn't like it's the finished article and it's as dull as dishwater. There is definate room for improvements in this team and we have shown glimpses of what to expect reguarly when it is

That is the big question mark for me. Whether he knows what we need and whether he can deliver what we need.

Whether club can get the A list targets in though is anyone's guess. I do think we missed a few A list targets this summer at a guess. I think it would be a shame to not see what pans out in the windows moving forward. As he says himself though, for that he's aware he needs results in the here and now

That and he starts getting results sharpish or it's going to be a long old season.
