No Stoke manager that I can remember has received more patience than Neil, at any other club he would be long gone. I think this is purely down to the amount of manager's we've had since TP who have failed, we've had our fingers burnt so many times that we're afraid to be bold. You talk to people and get 'Who do we get thats better?'......'we''re back to square one' etc etc but we can't think like that. You look at the squad, body language, tactics, substituions, in game management and see no cause for optimism. It's back to the drawing board for me.

I am not one for changing managers Willy nilly, but cannot see where Neil is going with this team? Inconsistent manager, inconsistent team. Can’t see any plan

Consistently inconsistent Shite runs, good runs, meh runs
Time to bring in a European approach

We cannot keep changing managers - that has been at the root of our issues.
Waddo and TP took years to sort things out.

Neil must go. The directors of our club will eventually realise that when we are sitting about 19th/20th in this division next March it will be nearly impossible to sell season tickets for next season. Even our directors will be able to see that. I have watched Stoke for many years now, and I can say that Neil has almost destroyed my enthusiasm for and enjoyment of Stoke City. Neil's brand of football is dire.

To get rid would be a continuation of the cyclical quagmire that we’ve been in for a few years. The next manager comes in and then…
It does take time and there were shoots of positivity before these two awful losses, but I think, with 11 men, we would have won that game. Blackburn was a shocker, but you have to give this guy time, otherwise, we start over again and we’ve been there several times before in the recent past.
This league is so tight and any team can come out of the pack and often do. There’s not much difference between the middle 16 or so teams. A goal scorer in January would make a big difference to this team.
People raved about Vidigal after those first few games (and fair enough), but he was never going to keep that scoring rate up, he never has.
This is a WIP, no need to start again…. Yet!

Nothing has changed here other than the management, players and coaches, since relegated we've maintained an adjective line of steady frustration with an occasional blip of life, we have a four match run then nothing new, again.

It’s embarrassing this poll, we didn’t play that bad pre sending off. Like I said before, if we beat Plymouth and Sheffield we’d, there will be people discussing the playoffs.
Neil’s hands are tied until he brings Travers back

Waddo and Pulis took over sides in absolute crisis a them promoted in 3 and 2 years. Anyone who thinks this charlatan can get us promoted in the next 150 years is a deluded idiot!!

Neil’s hands are tied until he brings Travers back I agree. We will draw at Plymouth and beat Sheff Wed. Everybody will calm down and Alex and the team will be planning for reinforcements in January. Travers back and a couple of decent signings and we will be fine and ready for a shot at the play-offs.

Waddo , TP , Lou all had a plan and a team of grafters , with a sprinkling of class , a greenhoff , a Ric , a Steino.
They made Stoke a difficult place to come . No one fancied away to Stoke .
There is no way this clown is going to go 26 games unbeaten like Lou .
So much is missing, attitude, desire , graft , confidence , believe in your team mates , your manager , the way you play .
We don't even have a way of playing, let alone everything you need to go along with that .
Basically none of the players, none of the fans , think this joker can take us up .
Why is here ?

Genuine question for the people saying in, what are you basing that answer on? I understand why people want him out but doesn’t the last 5 years tell you that keep sacking the manager every season isn’t working? I’m in no way sticking up for AN because he deserves all the criticism he gets but in my opinion there’s no manager out there that will improve us dramatically not only short term but long term.

This club is not going anywhere with Alex Neil. I's suggest we should take a punt and beg Angie Postecoglou to release Mile Jedinak (Aston Villa defender and former Australia captain, and now part of Ange's Tottenham coaching team) to us.

At the start of the season many posters were of the opinion that AN should be given until the end of the year (at least) to 'gel' the team and nail down his first choice 11.
We're fast approaching that time now and even as someone who isn't in favour of changing managers I'm slowly becoming disillusioned with some of his decision making. Particularly his choice of starting 11.
However, I'm not going to retract or go back on what I thought was a sensible and fair amount of time to give him at the start of the season. I don't think he should be sacked just yet, but will deffo be more open to it if we're languishing near the bottom of the table at the end of December, having continued to drop many more points.
Looking at the season so far I'd hope and expect to be within 6 points of the play offs by Jan 1st.

Neil’s hands are tied until he brings Travers back 18 wins in 58 league games and manager out poll is embarrassing. The only thing embarrassing is this complete charlatan's record in charge of this football club.

shit bin - 200 odd votes shows its not even an issue for most supporters Most samples are made up a very very low percentage. Nothing to suggest the near 80% majority on that pole isn’t a near representative sample. If that’s what your post was getting at.

Pulis had three seasons before Boskamp and two after when he achieved promotion. Waddo took three years. Remind me how long AN has been here again? Not that I think he'll do it, but it's hard to be labeled successful when compared to two legends when you've been here 16 months. Let's discuss what he's doing and not rather than talking about successes from 20-50 years ago.

Nope, you need at least around 1000 respondents for it to be statistically sound. Plus answering this poll is self-selection, giving a higher rate of bias. I haven't voted, because "I'm on the fence" isn't an option, and I won't back him when I could turn in three games.

Think its time for a change, the consistency has been a problem since he come in, consistently being bang average and a couple runs that ultimately kept us in the league last year, and see us just above the relegation this season too
