It really wasn’t a parry though was it, you know, a shot hit at you that you don’t deal with. It was across him and well hit. He had to make a save, he did, he was entitled to expect support from his defence after he kept it out, only our full back was 30 Yards away, despite HIS man tapping in the rebound. Not brilliant, but definitely not on Travers! What about the two lads with twisted blood after their number 10 made them look stupid (Stevens and Rose?) Hoever was shit for it no doubt but Travers should do better. he does parry to much , some shots should could be held onto ,but parrying the ball it goes anywhere, the backs need to be thinking

Sarkic was better at commanding his area by a massive distance. That’s all tbh. He just stays on his line and takes no pressure from the defence. He came for one today and fucked it up.

Travers wasn’t great today, but he was excellent at Leicester and is absolutely a huge upgrade on the other utterly hopeless keepers we’ve had over the last few years.

I don’t think he’s better than Sarkic bar he can stay fit. He’s ok but he’s shit on crosses. He just doesn’t come for them and when he does he’s awful on them.

Why Neil chose to keep two of our most promising players out of the starting 11 is still a mystery to me!!??

Sarkic does the harder thing better ie commanding his area. Sarkic just can’t stay fit. If he could then Sarkic wins it imo.

How on earth is it possible that Neil can't see that Junior is a better fullback than Hoever!?

Sarkic doesn’t command his area, he comes out for balls like some kind of super hero and invariably doesn’t get near em. He’s young and very raw. Travers is pretty steady but doesn’t seem to exude confidence in the penalty area, which is, at the end of the day, his to own

After Travers these pair should be the first names on the team sheet.
I’m not using this as a stick to beat Neil with as he’s already produced enough to form an entire forests worth to flog him with.
Braindead.

I watched Sarkic so little for us I can barely remember him. He could be the best keeper in the world, but if he’s incapable of staying fit it’s irrelevant. I was thinking more in terms of Bursik, Bonham, Davies etc

It was very good goalkeeping. Travers is a total Dracula.

Great result but surely a blind man can see this two should be in for Johnson and Hoever. "Vis Unita Fortior" Johnson had a poor game today but he’s a manager favourite who will play most weeks,Hoever looked knackered/injured at the end of the game and I can see Junior or Gooch playing on Wednesday night Disagree about Johnson. He made a couple of mistakes in the defensive area but I thought his quick passing forward to the front players was excellent first half today giving the sort of creativity we miss with Laurent there and second half he led the press really well. I had him close to player of the match.

I have yet to see Junior in the flesh having been on holiday for the Southampton game but it's difficult to see how he would have been better today and Hoever is the man in possession of the shirt at the moment. Possibly could have come on when Hoever started to cramp up towards the end but I'm a great believer in not changing your defence when protecting a lead.

Corner for winner aside DJ was a liability today; we’d have been better off with 10 players.

In my opinion, ( it’s all about opinions) Travers did as much as could be expected, and I sit behind the goal in block 22 I saw it from behind the person hitting it and it was very close to Travers. I thought he should have held on to it. No doubt Hoever has to actually be by his man though. He’s a crap defender though. I need to watch again, assumed he didn't have time to make it back, since quite rightly he started far away. So at the time I put 90%+ of the blame on Rose. Re Junior + Junho I agree and want to see lots more of them.

He will only start Junho in games we aren't meant to win. It's going to be a long frustrating season with him sat in the dark cause it's obvious the gremlin doesn't fancy him at all Weird thing to say

They are both a big part of our future. Rightly or wrongly Neil seems to want to ease them in gently. Junior is presumably destined to replace Hoever as first choice next season when his loan has finished. Both Junior and Junho look ready to be starting though and you would think there chances are going to come i agree that some younger players do need easing in , but both have already proved they look ready for this league , they will make mistakes and have poor games , but will have far more better games though

I thought Johnson was useless today. 5 or 6 horrific set pieces, looked laboured, gave the ball away, didn’t really seem to know what he was doing. He should have been hooked at half time. I’ve seen nothing from him yet to be convinced he’s even a mediocre player.

How on earth is it possible that Neil can't see that Junior is a better fullback than Hoever!? I think it's a case of who will cause less of a problem being told they won't play. When negotiating the loan Hoever / Wolves were clearly told he'd play if fit.

Junior is definitely the better defender by some distance Once you've seen him you will agree Hoever didn't do too bad yesterday against one of the division better players He's a good footballer, he could play in midfield imho
