Why is it all Vale all of a sudden this season? Is the anchor a Vale fan or is it literally because they’ve won a few games?!

Probs because they are doing considerably better than us in their respective league

They won, we lost.
Let them have their moment in the sun…….

Whys it an equal thing anyway? Salford don't get equal coverage with ManU/City on BBC Manc.

Also, we can't really complain. It's been all us since 2002. TBF to Radio Stoke, most weeks they're begging Vale and Crewe fans to call-in. Perhaps the good feeling over Vale winning and its associated dopamine rush has helped improve their fan's basic motor skills, so they can hit the right numbers on their phones?

I've heard them asking for them to call in on the way home on the rare occasions that I drive to the game. They don't dial their own phones. The staff at the Harplands dial for them.

Cant stand that vale commentator who anchored the show last time we played at home. He's always laughing at people who ring up, especially stokies, grade A tit.

One of them kept asking Adam Yates where they were in league like a childish joke. Pathetic.

If you are serving your audience, why dont we get 3x the coverage?

The lip service Radio Joke gives to it's biggest club is bizarre. We don't even get a Stoke fan as principal commentator. It's becoming as pathetic as the local newspaper

Vale have been on covered on DAB for a good few seasons now while Stoke are stuck on FM!
Thats equivalent to watching a VHS Video Cassette compared to Blu Ray in terms of quality coverage. Why is it the areas No.1 club is subject to such 2nd rate coverage for so long?!
Could never see BBC Radio Derby giving Mansfield Town or Chesterfield prime status ahead of Derby County as just one example.
& as for Sahi & Zakuani, bet they both shared a train journey back to London together straight after leaving Carrow Road! Neither that fussed about Stoke if being honest & BBC Radio Stoke have definitely read the room wrong if they think Stoke fans are happy or content with this current arrangement!

Spot on mate it's an absolute joke and there are no other radio stations in the country who prioritise the smaller local club over the bigger local club, it just doesn't happen. The main reason being that they will loose listeners and being a radio station they sort of need the listeners so I cannot get my head around it at all.

I don’t wish Vale any harm. It would be nice if they could just have their own radio station called Radio Vale where Vale fans can ring in to moan about Stoke to free up airtime on Radio Stoke for Stoke fans to ring in to moan about Stoke.

Issue for me is that we have now no Stoke following commentators or match day anchors and that Vale have both.
I don't listen until after the match (because I'm usually there) but the obviously pro Vale anchor is so obvious with his in depth analysis of them and cursory view of Stoke
Then of course we have to suffer McGarry drone on and on about Crewe.
It isn't good enough and we deserve better than this shit show

Funny how this is a problem when we lose. Not at all. There's been numerous posts about how poor radio Stokes coverage has been for various reasons for weeks if not years now, Win lose or draw, look back and you'll see them. It even made me laugh yesterday when saw yet another Radio Stoke connected thread!

Radio Derby split their frequencies on matchdays when Derby and Burton play as well BUT and it’s a big but you hardly hear anything about Burton Albion pre or post match. As I’ve said for years Radio Stoke give far too much coverage to Vale and Crewe and even begging for callers from those clubs on matchdays. You can go across all the BBC local stations and only Radio Stoke do this and there’s far too much influence in the Sports department from Bowers. Then you have the useless Sandoz who’s head of sport at the station and the clown that employed Sohail. Adcock is a Forest fan as well in answer to bazza

I've nothing against Zakuani but he played for us for about five minutes and I'd have to Google him to remember what he looks like. Why not have a former Stoke legend who would have some genuine interest in the role- Fuller, Lawrence etc. (both live local don't they?) The ones they do have on (Cranson and Griffin to name two) sounded as though they were phoning it in.

Totally agree mate and I always liked Liam Lawrence when he was on but did something go on that made him stop it or was it just because of other commitments that he stopped doing radio?

Yeah, imagine giving coverage to a team from the city who are doing well. Those BBC bastards. And again it's not just when they are doing well and when we aren't is it. It was the same when we were in the premier League, in Europe and in Fa cup finals and they were flirting with the national league. They may be doing well albeit six/seven games in but they are still in the league below us and have a quarter of our fanbase if that. They should be given minimal coverage in comparison to us.
