Man City often dont fill their ground now. How true is this? They announced a few months back a season ticket waiting list of over £100000 people. Probably because not every seat in the stadium is available as a season ticket? Some must be reserved for individual per match sale?

I was at a wedding all day and so was my mate who has a season ticket. So that’s two more empty seats accounted for. It must have been bliss. It was great, a person at our table didn’t turn up so I had two of everything 🤣

Man City fans didn't, Leeds fans didn't. But you think it's a good thing to not show up? You need to check out some footage over the years of Elland Road. They lost their fair share of support with fans not bothering with home games. Leeds avg the year they got relegated from the champ was just over 20k. In league one they had some averages of about 23-24k. I remember looking it up when social media was full of Leeds gimps crowing about what a massive club and loyal fan base they are around the time they got promoted under bielsa. It’s a myth. They’re a decent sized club but their self-perception is laughable compared to the reality. People saying we’ll be back down to 12k are also talking shit. We’ve bottomed out around 20k which is a huge improvement compared to the mid 90s-mid 00s.

I’d imagine, as other big clubs have a problem with, people from all over with a lot of money buy season tickets to guarantee seats for the games they fancy. Then when its against Wolves or someone like that, they may not bother. Symptom of being successful is fans from all over the world, with deep pockets, tend to jump on the band wagon and get in the way of the normal local loyal fans. Look at Inter Miami before Messi joined. Nothing much going on, then once he joins, celebs of all kinds are turning up every week.

We need to rip up the current system and get certain demographics in the stadium together
It’s been a roaring success in Germany, I’d love to know how their stadiums became so well organised and noisy

Years in the Prem while our “rivals” have been doing nothing of note in league 1/2. That’s years of fans that we’ve taken in. Short of Stoke falling apart/Vale being bought out by Saudis or coming into the same league, that fanbase isn’t shifting anytime soon. People like football, they’ll pay to see it.
