For me. Thought he got his tactics spot on using Big Wes as an outlet was a great call and helped us put pressure on easily. Defensively we were really solid. Got his subs pretty much much spot on for me, my only complaint is that we didn't win by more

I’ll go 9
Game plan worked, was a constant calming influence on the touchline and his subs to keep energy at the front took the game away from them.
Tactically brilliant.

He got panned before the game in the 'Team news' thread but he had to react to the Ipswich debacle where we got absolutely battered at the start.
Today was a 50-50 game which went our way owing to an excellent finish.
I'm really pleased.

Poor formation that doesn't completely suit what we tried to do. Playing a winger alongside a striker, with what we did with Vidigal and Chiquinho often left the central striker isolated in the box on his own. Defensively we were too vulnerable to the direct ball over the wing backs. A better team on the day would have absolutely rinsed us dry.
Pretty negative and I expect better from a manager that promised high octane high pressing attacking football.
A great result for sure but that masks nothing for me.
He got a higher mark off me last week at Ipswich because he tried to play high and press and attack but was badly let down by his players. This week we won despite his system, in my humble opinion.

9 excellent set up and very good win Understood the reasoning of 3 centre halves and for me it made us very solid. Different set ups for different teams is no big issue for me as long as we take something from those games and today it worked because we won 1-0

A win. We lost 0-4 last year. If I was an ex Strictly judge it’d be ‘ a 10 from Len’. I’m not but it’s still a 10.

9. He got the formation and tactics spot on.
I am happy to eat my words and say I was completely wrong on the team news thread. Good shout to start with Thommo who had a great game.
Only loses 1 point as I thought he could have brought the subs/fresh legs on 10 mins earlier. Watford had a brief spell second half, deliberately targeting our weakest link Hoever and everyone else was getting knackered covering for him. Pearson on helped a lot.

Superb decision to be a bit more conservative for this game given what we did last week, dropped certain players. Got it spot on

3 points. Pretty comfortable. McNally a standout. Vidigal a bargain.
We move on and go again.

6 - we were mainly poor and got lucky today because we have a player who can make something out of nothing and a referee who can't see a stonewall pen.
The 532 needs to be fucked off

We won, against a team that'll be there or there abouts, and although I think sometimes he needs to think about how we can hurt teams, rather than worry about stopping them from playing, he's done well today. Plus Watford change formation a few times and we coped. So well done Alexander and Stoke, well done lads.

Mostly what theonlooker said. He largely nullified a potentially dangerous opposition but it took a cracking moment of brilliance to break the deadlock. First half was boring and I hate 3-5-2 because it's so boring.
Watford had the chances to score too, could easily have gone 0-1.

7 - can see what he was trying to do re the formation. on another day I think the reluctance to change things earlier than 80 minutes in would have seen us concede a goal. Having Pearson to bring on helped massively in that sense

Pretty solid performance against a decent team but hardly inspiring, very happy with the result which is the main thing, we’d have lost that for sure in recent seasons. AN has made some good signings from the looks of it, we need a few more before the end of the month though as an injury or two and we’d be struggling.

He’s just not hit the ground running like Andre The Small Giant has.
