Sarkic was very nervy the first couple of games. Number of times he punched the ball when he should have caught it. He then improved. Travers distribution has been ok. McNally should have done much better with the goal yesterday but he has a good reputation and I’m sure will be alright.

He made an absolutely fabulous save at 0-0 last night, rifled shot that had top corner all over it, he dived full stretch from nowhere to send it wide. That would have been a goal under any of our last 5 goalkeepers, 1-0 down at home and game over. I think he is an excellent acquisition, once the defence settles we will look even more solid than we do. Million times better than the past 6 years I like him but which shot are you talking about? Swift’s in the first half or Pieters’s in the second? If you watch the highlights back they were both routine saves that any pro goalkeeper would expect to make. First half I sat right behind it on the angle in B20, it was literally top bins and he had no right to save it - it drew some gasps and standing applause from behind the goal As long as the telly made it look standard, you guys carry on dissing our players for no reason...

I was there too and saw it live. And I’m not dissing him at all. I just don’t think it was anything more than a routine save. Watch it back, it’s not in the top corner, it’s at a nice height, and he watches it all the way so gets two solid hands on it. The way you described it just isn’t accurate. It’s not about TV “making it look like” anything. www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/carabao-cup/12936349/stoke-2-1-west-brom-carabao-cup-highlights

Sarkic let a very poor goal in on his first (or second) appearance away to Luton.

This board amazes me, yiu can't say anything negative or observational at all. All I said was I thought he parried shots back into play, rather than away from goal and immediately you get jumped on..To please everyone, he looks fantastic and competent in every department..

To be fair to the defence he’s not had a great deal to do in the first two games. Made a very decent save the other night and couple of shots I felt he parried back into a dangerous area. But so far looks way more assured than anyone else we’ve had in the last few years. I wasn’t particularly a fan of Sarkic, thought he was a bit of a fanny tbh

Really?! The first two matches he’s looked jittery and indecisive. Sarkic was much more proactive in the box and his distribution was light years better. Hope he improves and we don’t regret not signing Sarkic!! I'm sure I read it on here on one of those stats Twitter pages, but wasn't Travers statistically one of the best keepers in the league when Bournemouth were promoted last time? He won the golden glove when Bournemouth were promoted to the premier league.

Think he's a definite upgrade on Bonham - probably a similar standard to Sarkic, but doesn't have the history of injuries. Been impressed with his communication, his handling and kicking has generally been decent, and made a few good saves Vs the baggies too. Think he will only grow in confidence with more game time and if we get in a commanding centre half in front of him. Think the game has evolved away from the old style of goalkeeping, keepers are now seen to be the springboard to build attacks or start counterattacks and are now required to be a lot more comfortable and proficient with the ball at feet too, requiring more emphasis on footballing ability, vision and reading of the game beyond their own box.

He parried shots that our last 2 keepers would have let in.

Is that it? I’ve said it’s fine. They were easy though. There was one where pushed back into a dangerous area though and that needed to be better. He can do it til the cows come home if he gets it to a safe area.

I think that today can be readily explained by a goalkeeper not knowing his defenders. Should have been brought in earlier. The whole defensive unit doesn’t know each other. That will unfortunately take time.

Looks so nervous and slow today.
Needs to be coming out and catching the ball. Or atleast making a good contact on the punch. Very flappy at the minute

For one of those rare occasions, I agree with Bayern. Sarkic made an immediate impact. Still very early days with Travers though.

Just seen the goals and didn’t think he did a lot wrong with the first. I guess he wasn’t expecting the Ipswich player to get such a free header.

I agree with Bayern, Sarkic was a very alert keeper yes he punched but he punched well Travers looks a better shot stopper, no bad thing, but he's getting criticism for not being alert Had pretty much nothing to do last week, today was bound to be tougher Let's see how he does in the next few months

Haven't seen it back, but my initial thoughts were that he looked as though he was going to come and then hesitated and stayed still. Not saying he could have/should have come and collected it, but as a defender if you think the keeper is coming for it then you momentarily stop and that gives the attacking player the advantage of momentum once you realize the keeper is staying back.

Extremely underwhelmed so far, from what I've seen so far, no better than Bonham.
