I don't want to be a killjoy, but he does appear to have a habit of parrying the ball back into play?.

As opposed to our previous 3 keepers parrying it into their own net….

Nothing wrong with his performance and seems to inspire confidence but as per usual a certain individual sticks the boot in 🙄nothing changes

I'm still firmly of the opinion we need a 1st choice centre half to pair with one of the other three.

It just felt bad, like some form of ptsd from the other ones (bar Sarkic). I think I’m being harsh and for that reason but I dunno, there’s a nagging feeling there for me. But they’re all new, not played together much etc.

I might be wrong but I’m sure I heard a shout and thought it was Travers calling for it then Thomas nicked in between them. I think he’s clearly an upgrade on anything we’ve had for ages. Maybe he was at fault tonight for the goal, but I’ve been impressed overall by what I’ve seen from him.

I blame Travers less than McNally it looked like his error initially and he can't be stood there and not impact the situation positively. I guess he's rusty and it didn't matter in the end. The way our subs came on though we looked weaker up top and that might have been enough to rally them. Thankfully we went straight up the other end and scored.

I think a lot of modern keepers are guilty of this. Rather than pushing it out or god forbid trying to hold onto the ball.
Still think we are in a much better position in the GK department than we have been in a long long time.

Goalkeepers and defenders are always going to be at fault for some goals. It’s normal. The concern should only arise if it becomes a regular thing.

For any goal there is always someone who could have done their job better. Even for 'worldies' he could have been closed down earlier, the keeper's positioning wasn't quite right, etc. At corner's the attacking side will always have that split-second element of surprise... very difficult to defend against if the delivery is accurate and timely... unless you pull their shirt to keep them tight to you. Someone, watching the game will never be satisfied. You can't stop every goal, you just need to learn from them and try and improve.

The manager is blaming the two centre halves.McNally for his challenge and Wilmot not covering the space.

Looks decent and we would settle for decent after the last few.

Touch of the Angus Gunn's!
Still a massive upgrade on our previous 'keepers'

The three goals we have conceded have all been in keeper territory. Like you say, may need time to settle in. Not signing sarkic May have been a mistake. Hope I am wrong!

Can something be described as a habit after two games? Let the guy get some games under his belt.

In regards to West Brom's goal, we had McNally on debut and Travers playing his second game for the club, they're hardly going to be reading eachother's game just yet, it's going to take time.

He made an absolutely fabulous save at 0-0 last night, rifled shot that had top corner all over it, he dived full stretch from nowhere to send it wide.
That would have been a goal under any of our last 5 goalkeepers, 1-0 down at home and game over.
I think he is an excellent acquisition, once the defence settles we will look even more solid than we do.
Million times better than the past 6 years

Touch of the Angus Gunn's! Still a massive upgrade on our previous 'keepers' I'd say he's on par with sarkic so far. Really?! The first two matches he’s looked jittery and indecisive. Sarkic was much more proactive in the box and his distribution was light years better. Hope he improves and we don’t regret not signing Sarkic!!

I'm sure I read it on here on one of those stats Twitter pages, but wasn't Travers statistically one of the best keepers in the league when Bournemouth were promoted last time?

Swift’s in the first half or Pieters’s in the second? If you watch the highlights back they were both routine saves that any pro goalkeeper would expect to make.
